RE: How Long Will It Take To Learn ?
I am still learning normal flight with sim. It might take me at least 3 years to begin to learn 3D?

RE: What are the excuses you have heard?
ORIGINAL: markhamregular My intention was to get some funny comments. This is why I listed it on the funny forum. But then again... I get a flack... But I think it was MY fault listing the whole bunch of reasons. And by the way, yes I used the same logic on my only crash so far. I found out it was a falty aileron extension cord, but since the plane gave me many signals of glitches and I continued to fly it without checking the range properly, I crashed. So, yes, it was my fault.
I understand you. Just for fun, right?

RE: Truth is stranger than fiction in model airplanes
ORIGINAL: MinnFlyer Here's a heli story for you. A guy in my club back in Jersey was flying his heli. He zipped the throttle to full and when the heli jumped up, it dislodged the battery which fell to the ground - and the heli just flew full-bore out of sight. That evening, another guy from our club was coming home from work and saw a heli on the side of the parkway exit. He stopped, picked it up and thought, "This looks like Richie's helicopter". Went home and called Richie. It only had minor damage
God dialed this heli with his pinkie.

I saw 6 helis crashed at a club funfly yesterday. one is 300, three 450 and two nitro 700. Pilots said nothing but others were very happy and cried "WOW". Even one guy said to a pilot who lost his 700: " Oh Man, you finally down".

RE: What does telemetry do for you?
ORIGINAL: 378 Perosnally I feel every radio should have at least: Engine RPM Fuel level(Or motor battery voltage for electrics) Rx voltage Engine temperature(Measured at the plug, or if electric, measured at the windings if possible) Vehicle speed I feel having these features would make it much easier to fly, keep more planes from eating it, and let people stay in the air longer. No more setting a timer and guesstimating how much fuel's in the tank, you've got a readout right in front of ya. It'd also be nice for car guys to know their engine RPM, temps and speed in real time, both for bragging rights and for diagnostic purposes.
If possible to plus wind velocity?
