RE: Question for P100-RX Owners
Come on guys: I just paid to BVM for a brand new P-100 but I stopped the order because JetCat is about to release the P90-RXi with 1 lb., more thrust. (See jetpower thread) But I see that the P90 weight is 1450 grs. including the pump and the P-100 is 1050 grs without including the pump, although the pump weight no more than 50 grs. So, it appears that the one more lb of thrust of the P90 is not worthy as compared wtih the weight reduction on the P-100 But now, with all the issues I have read on the P-100, I am afraid to get one. I leave in Colombia, (the north part of South AMerica) and here is very hot from April to mid December Any suggestion?

P90-RXi
HI: When is suppose to be released this new turbine? I just paid for a P-100 RX but now that I saw the P90 RXi on the forum (Airpower 2.012 thread), I like the P90 because it has more thrust. Can you tell me the turbine specifications for compare with the P-100? I saw also that the P90 is cheaper than the P-100? Will this mean that P-100 is better choice?

RE: JetCat P90 RXI
ORIGINAL: Xairflyer This was posted on the Jetpower thread, all the prices there.
Anyone knows the specification of this turbine? I mean size, weight, fuel consumption, etc. Is just to compare with the P-100 because I just paid for a P-100 for my Skymaster F-16 1/8 but I stopped the order because if the P90 has the same weight than the P-100 and fuel consumption is similar, I will go for the P90. In the table you show, is cheaper than the P.100 and thrust is 105 N as compared with P-100 that has 100 N of thrust. My F-16 fueled is around 30 lbs. So I need the max thrust, (Lets say 25 lbs.) and P120 or similar are too heavy and too big in fuel consumption for the fuel tanks size. I have 2.5 liters including header tank and UAT

RE: Jet Central Super Bee Propane auto start
OK We did the glow plug check. It was bright at the very last coil. But how much bright? As much as 33 setting in the Data Terminal. My friend experience is that this glow plug (OS A8) with more than 33, will be damaged. It happened to him. Next step is to switch to ceramic ignitor but meanwhile (we live outside USA and it will take at least 15 days to get one) we will try with a longer thread glow plug and checking that the very last coil will be very bright. BTW: Where can we get ceramic ignitor for this turbine? Is an exclusive part for Jet Central turbines or it will fit any turbine so we can get in any store? Thank you guys. I will let you know the end of the story. BRG

RE: Jet Central Super Bee Propane auto start
Hi guys: This is what I did last night: (Thank you Enrique for your advice) First, I removed the front cover from the turbine to check for a gas hose broken because the gas tank freezes in the start up sequence. This is because my friend who is the turbine owner, was using propane instead of propane\Butane, and propane has more pressure and can blow the hoses. No broken gas hose found. Reinstalled the front cover and start filling the gas tank with propane\butane. Festo check valve remains fully opne if the 4 mm hose is introduced to the end. So what I did was to introduce the hose to the end and when gas tank was full, I disconnected the hose from the festo check valve first and the removed the plastic plug that fits in the campinggaz container (this was done with my friend help). What he was doing before, was filling the gas tank without introducing the 4 mm plastic hose to the end of the festo connector so most of the gas was leaking out of the gas tank. One of the reason for the tiime out error was then lack of gas. The we initiated starting cycle and Time Out error was displayed. Increased gas to 30. Tiime Out error. Reduced gas to 25: Started normally. Shuted down and wait until turbine was at ambient temp. and initiated starting cycle again and Time Out error again. (No pops right before turbine start running every time Time Out Error was displayed on the Data Terminal). Reduced gas to 22, Time Out Error. Finally, I decided to remove my Jet Cat P-80 glow plug and installed it in the Super Bee and it started normally. Then we compared both glow plugs and the one installed in the Jec Central was an OS A8 and the one installed in the Jet Cat was a black one no brand or brand masked by heat, but my friend said it is a rossi. The difference between both turbines glow plugs was that the jet cat one has the thread longer than the OS A8. Queston: is the glow plug the problem? Setting is at 33 we restarted the turbine once temp was a little less that 100°C and it started again normally. So the problem is not gas. Is that there is no gas ignition and temp. do not start to rise while spinning to start the kero pump....

RE: Jet Central Super Bee Propane auto start
Hey guys, thank you so much for your help. Yes, the error code in the data terminal is "Time Out" What I am going to do is to follow all your recommendations step by step First, increase gas in steps from 25 to 40- 45 Pull appart the gas tubing that enter the turbine in a festo connector and check if gas is flowing. If not, check the solenoid and the filter. Check the glow plug and pull the coil a little farther out. Keep voltage in 32. Check the battery charge. Battery is a Li-Ion 5600 mah, 7.4 volts but the charger is 7.2 volts. Is there any problem? Keep in touch BRG

RE: Futaba MPDX-1 and 12FGA Help
No, it is not possible to set the MPDX to a virtual channel. The only available channels fof MPDX are channel 1 to channel 12. Not DG1 (13) or DG2 (14) nor any virtual channels. They simply do not appear in the list in my 12FGA. Dont know if they appear in the 14MZ or 12Z. You can check with your transmitter. I am just going to do final tests an then fly my jet. Hope to be lucky. Just be careful with brake slider not to move it in flight for not loosing all the air.

RE: Futaba MPDX-1 and 12FGA Help
Done Only issue is that brakes in MPDX-1 channel 2 is not condition selectable. Before this change , when Brakes were on channel 10, it was affected by Conditions. I have 2 Conditions in my set up (In flight anf Take Off/Landing) selectable with gear or flap (right slider) switchs. When in flight, brakes and nose wheel were disable to save battery and to avoid accidentally hitting the brake slider and loosing all the air. But now, with brakes in MPDX-1 I can´t select this channel set up for both conditions. Any ideas?

RE: 12fg help
I have the set up you want, in my transmitter: I set Program Mix 1: Camber to aileron1 and Program Mix 2: Camber to Aileron 2. This is because in this transmitter, Camber is the same as flaps in the wing configuration I have (2 ailerons only because my jet, F16, do not use separate flaps, but flapperons, same ailerons as flaps). So once you enter each of the program mix 1 or 2 sub menus (remember that in the Group column, you should set Group instead of Single, you have 3 pages. In page 3, you can find a set up for speed in and out. There you can get what you want. If your model have sepparate flaps, use Camber mix. You can find the same set up for speed in page 2/2 Good Luck

RE: Futaba MPDX-1 and 12FGA Help
Thank you Dave. So I am going to use channel 12 for one gyro as set, channel 11 for MPDX-1, MPDX-1 Channel 1 for Turbine AUX, MPDX-1 Channel 2 for brakes, MPDX-1 Channel 3 for Gear, receiver channel 10 for the other Gyro and receiver channels 7 and 8 (prior for brake and gear) for leading edge flaps left and right. Just one concern: Using channel 12 for the other gyro (where actually is) with the receiver data port with a jumper thas is necessary for the MPDX-1 to work According to your experiece with channel 12, shouldn' be a problem, isn't it? Do you have the jumper installed in the receiver data port? I will give a try

RE: 12fg help
ORIGINAL: Pegasus I am trying to set up my transmitter so when the flaps are down the new elevator trim is saved in the flap down position basically it would save the elevator trims in either flap position, should I do this with flap setting or air brake setting, for some reason I just can't seem to get it to work
I created a condition named: TO/LAND (Take Off/Land) that is activated with the gear switch or flaps slider. Once you flip the gear switch to extend the retract, the transmitter is set in a totally new configuration where you can select your own set up. Of course that this set up will be excatly idem to the No Condition set up that I named In Flight. Just move the elevator trim to the position you want and once flaps or gear are down, your trim will reach its new position. Be carefull that all the other channels trims are the same in both conditions, unless your jet have an abnormal behavior at low speeds or with flaps or gear down (lets say that when flaps down, your jet turn a little right). Then you will set up aileron trim in the TO/LAND condition, to the left some clicks.....and so on..... You can find the condition menu under the Model menu as Cond. Select.... Hope this help

RE: Futaba MPDX-1 and 12FGA Help
ORIGINAL: BaldEagel Sorry to be so late with this reply, but the MPDX does not work correctly with 2.4Ghz, each set up works differntly and not always consistat, you will need to experiment to get it working correctly, I had a h**s own job setting up my Rookie with full vectored thrust, I needed 16 channels to get it all set up, the easiest way was with a spread sheet to keep everything in order and remembered. Mike
Thank you Mike for your post. But finally your MPDX-1 work with your Rockie? Is your system 2.4 Ghz? I found it to work correctly in G3/1024 I set my turbine AUX in MPDX channel 1 (It was in receiver channel 8 before) and it worked correctly. I also tested a normal servo with 3 position switch and it worked OK and then with a rotary knob and it worked OK. I set the percent to different settings and the servo stopped at those settings. I reversed the setting and servo reversed. I am planning to send 4 channels to the MPDX-1 to use 2 receiver channels different from 11 an 12, to connect both gyros, and the other 2 channels for leading edge flaps. And in MPDX-1 I will set : Throttle, brakes, gear and turbine AUX. Is the only chance I have for setting this up, because nose gear can't be set at MPDX because it do not accept mixing an nose wheel is mixed with rudder Do you think I am going to put my jet in risk?
