RE: December Tower Talk ARF's
Sure, I would love to build a kit if I had time. With a full time job and two small kids. There is no such thing as time. It takes me a month just to build an ARF. If their was no such thing as an Arf I would be forced to buy an airplane somebody built. Their is some joy for us guys who only have time for ARFS. SO intill I can retire or the kids move out in about 13 years, Arfs are the only thing I have time for. I believe this to be true for younger guys with small children that take up most of your time.

Ok, well im thinking about getting asking for this for Christmas. If i do i will gear it at 19/45 and have a 3s lipo with it. What lipo do you guys reccomend? I like it being 4x4, and brushless, otherwise i would have or ask for the regular slash. Im just basically wondering if it is worth $400. I know its early but i would like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. I hope you all get the rc goodies you want this year! Thanks for the help!
ORIGINAL: tomst-maxx So i am thinking of getting a ezrun motor/esc for my t100. My question is if i put that in a bone stock truck will i be repalcing parts like the diff none stop? Its would be the 5200kv motor on a 2cell lipo. I need a new motor but dont want to have to uprade the whole truck ass it is just my basher, I have other vehicals to hop up with mods [:D]
So far I've been running my T100 with the EZrun 25a/7800kv combo and 2s lipo with no problem. That's not to say that the diff will last forever, but I bash mine pretty hard. You're going with a lower kv motor and if you set the punch for soft, it should last a while. One problem I did have with the Pro-Pulse and the EZRun was that it did not like the stock tx/rx at all. Very bad glitching.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Ok well i still haven't decided wut i am going to get. I am leaning towards 2 2s lipos in a series. I have been reading and people are saying it is hard on the diffs, clutch, and tranny, and heat issues etc. What could i do to avoid those problems. I will be loosining my slipper clutch. But is that all i should do? I have a heat sink on the motor, but should i get one for the esc as well? I will also be running this set-up on a regular basis. Since ol'man winter is around the corner, wut do you recommend i do to the lipos? Should i balloon'em up or is there another way? One more question, should i change my gearing? I am running the stock spur gear, and the 23t speed pinion. Thanks for all of the help guys! [:D]

RE: Pro-Pulse 1/18th Radioshack!
ORIGINAL: mxracer154 Hey does anyone happen to have any of the non working pro pulses? Im considering getting one of these. I have an e-revo now and was thinking about getting another mini. I used to have a pro pulse the christmas they came out in the radio shacks. It was a good truck but i remember the electrons sucked. Im kind of debating between a pro pulse and a mini t. Haha two complete different trucks i know. Idk what to do, if i can get a pro pulse with electrons for less then $150 ill prolly do it.
It looks like Megatech has stopped selling the "non-working" ones, which is too bad for me because I was going to buy one for a parts car. There are a few on eBay for about $20 shipped, that might be the way to go. As far as the Pro-Pulse over the Mini-T, I hate to admit it but I really like the Pro-Pulse over the Mini-T. The PP handles better and will take more horsepower, plus it seems a little more durable. To get my Mini-T the way I wanted, in addition to the electronics (including servo), I had to buy shocks, tierods, and a wheelie bar to handle brushless power. The trade off is that it is a little harder to work on, plus it's harder to get parts since Radio Shack discontinued selling the parts and no LHS carries PP parts. To go brushless with the PP, all I did was add the electronics (stock servo), drill out the motor mount and go.

That way you don't have to worry about a LVC or LVA while running the lipos.

RE: Hyperion 0606i question
ORIGINAL: ppkk Hi folks, I bought the above charger about a year ago and up to now have been using it to charge LiPo's - great charger overall. I did for the first time, try to charge a 6V NiMH battery in it, and to my surprise I saw no way of adjusting the charge voltage to match that of my battery pack. Looking at the manual, it has an example where they are charging a NiCad battery and the example says the NiMH screens would be exactly the same. In that screen, the charge voltage is shown, but on my charger's display, the only thing that I can see and change is the charging Amp, but not the voltage. Can anyone who is used to this charger chime in and shed some light on this for me? Thanks! P.S. I can adjust the ''discharge'' voltage in the cycling menu, but nothing on the charge voltage. Strange.
I have both the 610i-net and 615i-duo3 and when setting up for NiCad or NiMH you have to set the number of cells in the pack before charging. The charger then sets the correct voltage just like LIPO or A123s.
ORIGINAL: rcslsafut of the mini t and the rc18 t , the 18 t is a far better truck i have both of them .dont get me wrong the mini t is fun and all but it comes with a crap esc/reciever combo that is apt to take a dump on you . the shocks dont even have oil in them and its 2wd. rc18t all the way of the two trucks YOU mentioned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just my opinion.
Agreed! While I like the Mini-T, the RC18T is the better of the two. In fact, my cheapo Pro-Pulse T100 honestly is a better performing car with a few upgrades. I'd probably convert to RC18T's but I have too much invested in my Minis to switch. Plus it seems more shops carry more Losi than Associated parts. Now if the OP is looking to run mainly inside for the winter, I think the best choice is the Losi Micro Desert Truck. While 1/18 are able to be run in a large inside area, you can run the 1/36 are a lot better in smaller areas, even a living room or den. Like Minis, the Micros are easy to upgrade - an Atomic BBv2 motor is a decent and cheap upgrade - but have the same crappy esc/rx combo issues as its bigger brother. The Micro DT is a lot better choice than the Micro T because you'll have a better selection of batteries.

RE: First truck for a 6yo: Mini DT or RC18MT?
I've found the Mini-T to be a fairly durable car, and I'm running brushless. The biggest problem with the Mini-T is that the rx/esc combo really isn't the best. It's okay, but the range isn't the best, which probably isn't a big concern with a 6 YO. You also have the issue that to upgrade the esc or tx, you'll have to do both. Just know that it takes a few upgrades to get the most out of the car. Out the box you should get bearings. I also recommend a RPM bumper for about $6 and for a little performance boost, get a Venom Fireball 370p motor, which will work with the stock electronics and only cost about $10 shipped.

RE: First truck for a 6yo: Mini DT or RC18MT?
In short, the RC18T (and it's clones) are better handlers than the Losi cars, especially in dirt of if you add more power, but the 4wd does make it a more complicated car = harder to work on = but nothing major. The Mini DT is a more simpler car = easier to work on. The good thing is that parts for either are fairly cheap and easy to come by, including upgrades. Here's my suggestion: For the price of one Mini Revo, get two of the Mini-Ts or RC18Ts so you can have fun together, and because working on RC cars is half the fun, as I stated above, parts will be easier to obtain.

RE: 1/36 losi debate
I would definitely get the DT over the regular Micro. The DT give you a larger selection of batteries; the Micro T's battery compartment is tight even with the stock battery. Heck, you can even do this if you want a l-a-r-g-e battery:
