RE: what truggy for racing?
Newbies are what keep us going!!! Everyone else with experience knows everything so no conversation for the know it all's....LOL!! This was and is my favorite site! I have low post counts because I switched names and emails years back due to key board wars!!! But I enjoy asking questions?? Answering any kit over $400.00 gives absolutely no insite or direct answer and leaves it still in the air...and when I say what about hot bodies d8t I get it was mentioned ...well kinda!!! I think a key to this question of what is best may go to the Aftermarket arms.. RPM and the tires... Proline..and electronics...these keep the car stable and going...now we need to talk about what nitro motor works for particular track!!! No car is made perfect and the hop ups seperate men from boys!! Right?????

RE: Stuck between 2 Traxxas vehicles....
I have driven both. Both have features and benifits from the other. You can limit the power of the Jato with the traxxas controler setting..I think it's like a training mode or something like that..The Jato is fun for presentation to crowds..everyone thinks this is a rocket...where the Rustler would be fun on the bike jumps/dirt mounds...The Jato can do it too but wheel spin is unbelievable. You are keeping the hobby alive by going to your local store... I vote rustler!

RE: Potential New Owner - Ground Pounder or 8e?
This is a solid beast. You will want to replace the electronics eventually as they are commonly glitchy. Fun factor is 10 out of 10. The 4 mode steering is awesome. I would take this over a Clod Buster any day. It will drive and smash over alot of things. Having all my cars brushless its tempting to throw a brushless system in....but thr truck is purpose built as is. I am going to put the "Kong" tires on mine for the ultimate monster look.

RE: What is your dream RC ????
Just drove a sooped up baja 5bs 30cc. This car was said to have 3000k invested...This is not my normal area of expertise so I don't know the difference between $1500 hpi or $3000k. with that said it had boost bottles, k&n like air filter..Aluminium and carbon fiber everything...It screamed and could be heard from miles away. You can not drive this locally anywhere and be welcomed by the community. We took it to a school field and tore the field up. I should probably not post on grounds of incrimination..With that said..this car was too much...for some not enough..but for me I was suprised by the power and force of this thing. I have seen videos of baja's but you do not know the sheer power until it's live. With that said I want one...like now!..But realalistically I could not drive it anywhere in town and keep piece with the neighbors...It was a dream come true driving this and I enjoyed destroying the earth beneath my wheels...but Im gonna go back to practicality and stick with D8T...Ps the Aftershock Sub I bought is doing great...it is really fun to drive.. This HPI Baja is king, but Im ok with another shelf Queen lol. D8T I will see you soon!

RE: What is your dream RC ????
Colorado is changing right now with economy.....Numerious Hobby stores have closed their doors. I live in North Denver area and the only local track left is Ratraceway. Check out their site rateraceway.com. Gas races are far North (Longmont Hobby town) or far South...and one far east ( Burlington)...so I would say gas it alive but with travel. We are getting revived with Westminster Hobby Town doing out door parking lot race track on Sundays. With the array of hobbiest, classes they are made but you can't count on a season do to racer attendence. We have a ROAR race facility at Mhor indoor track in Aurora that is most popolar for 1/10th scale electric. We have about 10-12 tracks in colorado for on road off road etc, but they are all a minium of 1/2 hr from each other with fewer and fewer stores to supply parts. With Traxxas being retail king at every hobby shop and Pepboys if you break a hobby grade brand 50/50 on getting part to continue running.

As of the last 2 years I have not been a die hard like I used to be...What is the Serpent line cobra? It looks like they are big enough and world wide... I guess I could have googled but I am unfamiliar and when I quickly looked I could not find kit price... I imagine this is probably upper 10% in compitition and quality..Can you indulge me with some quick info and features?

RE: What is your dream RC ????
Don't hate but I am so into 1/8 scale now I just opened up a Redcat aftershock to hold me over until I get the D8T. I know this is a temporary fix but I actually like this truck better than the Traxxas Slayer... Just my lame opinion so don't flame me to hard boyz! I havent used an 1/8th scale in over 2 years...forgot how much fun they are to 1/10 scale. I did the RTR to satisfy a need

I was on the fence with the RC8T as well. Since I still have not bought one yet it could happen....but the D8T still catches my eye the most. Your RC8T should be a blast and good luck with it!

RE: Aftershock 3.5
Yeah a 3.5 motor and 2.4 dsm make this a steal.. even at full list of 300.00 bucks. Surprised Redcat went with 8 batteries for transmiter. Im sure they could have went 4 instead. Just hate 12 battery cars!!! I have gone through about 7 tanks as of now!!! Holes and trimming done too!

RE: What RC should I get for racing?
Read Anomie's thread above this one RC for begginers. I would spend 1 whole day at track on race day and just watch. You can ask drivers specific questions and decide which classes you want to race.....but walk before you run and bash like crazy in a field or park and get some reps under you. As far as catagories they are based on track size and participation. the scales are 1/18, 1/10,1/8, and 1/5 to name the most popular. Then you have 2x2 4x4 etc. On road off road. You can have dozens..but most tracks stick with what the racers want. I like the slash and think you would have fun with it.

Aftershock 3.5
Just opened out of box...broke in motor...did some test laps. And wallllaaa I have a new fun ride! I like the sound and the braking is excellant. Tire stick is an issue but who cares. Need to trim more body and cut out hole for exhaust and add vents for heat disbursment /air...and I think I'm good. This is a great choice for someone who doesnt want to shell out $$$ for a Slayer. I now have driven both and I like them equally. They are almost identical in size for a 1/10 vs 1/8th. DSM Redcat radio very easy to use with great range.
