RE: Thunder Tiger EB4 G3 Electric Stock
ORIGINAL: HarisKhoso Is there a Possibility to increase top speed with out changing ESC. I,m using 2 2S PACKS which makes the car a bit heavy. I assume it will increase somewhat 10 more KM/h as now it has 50 Plus Km/h by reducing the weight & buying 1 Single pack 4S. Will the Power to Weight Ratio effect in Top Speed as 2 Packs would be atleast 500 Grams heavier than 1 Pack? Thanks
You can always gear up but keep and eye on the ESC Temperature, I think you can reach 60km/h with gearing as I heard it undergeared. If you like doing speed passes in a straight line alot then what you really need is a 150a esc so you can use 6s lipos, its only around $100 on ebay but it will turn your buggy into a blur, I am certain you will be impressed with it. 6s Lipos cost around $80 and up depending where you get them from. EDIT: Here are 2 videos of eb4 g3's on 6s lipo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zryMBTL9tU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niqND3bhPIM&feature=related

RE: This is ridiculous...
ORIGINAL: cumminspower5.9 So guys, I'm pretty sure I'm annoying you with all my buggy questions, and I definitely appreciate it. But I have changed my mind on the Associated RC8.2e. I can't justify spending over $600 on the car and batteries when I have a baby due here in the next week. I have chosen to get the OFNA Lx2e. It definitely looks like a sharp buggy, no doubt. And the price is definitely cheaper. I will go ahead and throw some Badlands on it for offrad use, plus that will increase the ride height a bit. Got a few questions on it as I have no knowledge of OFNA products. Any instant upgrades I should get for this right out of the box? And I noticed it has 2 battery connectors to the ESC. Can I get a 2-1 connector? I was planning on running one 4s battery instead of two 2s lipos.
Not annoying me ;) The OFNA Ultra LX2E is a great buggy for bashing. Pyromatic117 has one and if he sees this thread, I'm sure he will tell you about his experience with it. Foxy recommends this one too. Not much that can go wrong, its a ofna so its simple and tough. Are you getting the kit or RTR? The RTR can handle 4s lipo max. If you want to run a single 4s then just change the plug but cut the 2 battery plug things it comes with in a way that you can turn it into a adapter incase you want to run 2 2s packs or 2 3s packs later down the road. If you plan to ever run 5s or 6s make sure you get the kit so you don't have to buy a motor/esc you don't need, and if you have a radio, receiver, servo laying around then you save more money. You also get to paint the shell your way :) There is a slight possiblity that OFNA warehouse might in a 1/100000 chance have spares for this cars (its an ofna right?)

RE: $500 Budget For RTR basher
I am also getting a Thunder Tiger Mt4 on Thursday (My hobby shop struggles to keep them in stock as they are very popular) It is a super tough truck, powerful and very cheap (You won't be needing parts often) Check out Wondertiger.com for more information if u haven't already. Because it is a truggy with monster truck wheels and shell, You can always change things up a bit by adding truggy wheels, truggy shell and rear wing and you have a fully fleged truggy, and foxy will tell you how good a 6s truggy is. You won't be disappointed

RE: Thunder Tiger EB4 G3 Electric Stock
if you still want more top speed, get the hobbywing exrun 150a esc, it can handle 6s lipo which means with a new pinion gear and using the stock motor you can reach speeds of over 55mph (around 90kmh+) but that much power is very hard to put down, so upgrade the pinion gear and in the far future, get the 150a esc

People are funny sometimes. [&:]
the truth is hard for some to accept. anyway, this hpi/hobao thing will work out better for those who find it hard to get hobao parts but easier to get hpi parts. For those people, buy a hobao while they are still cheap (it os unevitable the hpi will be more expensive) and benifet from hpi's part support (parts should be the same)

You will ended up with around $800+ Or You can get the factory team rc8.2e kit for $460 Then add $200-$350 on a Power System that handles 6s Lipo Then add about $80 For a nice servo Use your current radio system, if you don't have one, $40 on a Flysky And $80 for good tires Your looking at around the $850+ range and you get all the factory team goodies (there is alot of them) for $50-$100 more instead of the 4s power system In the long run, Building a kit can be better value unless you want to run something with its stock electronics

RE: FREAK ACCIDENT
Looking at everyones post, there is no doubt that touring cars with there huge foam bumpers, body shells that cover the whole car and short suspension components can with stand some amazing high speed crashes with minimal damage. nitro, I am using a fan powered off the receiver because the original is wired to the esc so it will receive 11.1V which will fry it. This is the fan here: http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-ya0201-tornado-high-speed-25x25mm-p-29521.html?cPath=1521_1460 Syco, I too thought that the esc will shut down but maybe the receiver was still on and sending the old signals to keep accelerating instead. phmaximum, Don't get me wrong, 1/8 buggies and 1/8 truggies are the toughest rc on the market today but I don't think they will survive a 55mph+ head on collision with a curb without a tacoed chassis and other breakages considering they don't have a huge foam bumper to stop the wheels from receiving all the impact. shark, I guess these glitches are more common than I thought, an since the receiver wire is damaged in 2 places, it must be the problem.

RE: FREAK ACCIDENT
dan rox 90, I am going to replace the receiver 1st as there is damage on it while the transmitter has no visible signs of damage phmaximum, I thought that the carbon reinforced plastic chassis will have been shattered and the suspension arms twisted and the gear casing cracked and bent tierods but only a broken bumper mount, thats pretty tough. I don't have a nitro touring car but I imagine they use metal chassis as plastic will get hot and change shape, is this correct. I bet if any 1/8 buggy, truggy crashed at the speed my tb03 was going they will have most certainly been destroyed. I thought the plastic gears will have stripped (I have a spool at the front) from the sudden stop but no damage :)

FREAK ACCIDENT
Allright, so I was driving my Tamiya TB03 8.5t Brushless 3s Lipo Touring Car lately and I have been experiencing some radio glitching (more evident when I use 3s than 2s). What happens is while I drive, the car stops listening to the controls I give for a few seconds and the car continues going the way it was before it glitched (If I was turning and accelerating, it will continue to turn and accelerate for a short time). I thought it may have been interferences so I moved to another location. I did a few speed pass on 3s, then it happened again. The car was 30m from the curb, this was where I brake to ensure I don't hit the curb, but when I pressed the brake, nothing happened, it continued to fly 55mph right into the curb front on. It was very loud, the car didn't bounce off it just hit the wall and stopped there. I thought that under that shell will be a completely destroyed front end but to my disbelief, only the bumper mount broke. The rest of the impact was absorbed by the 3s soft cas LiPo which now has huge dent in it, I am going to dipose of it safely. I plopped in a 2s lipo nand kept driving (without a shell as the front of it is mounted on the bumper). I drove for 40 minutes with no glitching whatsover. When I inspected the receiver, I realised that the antenner seemed a bit damage at the tip and slightly at the bottom where it exits the casing. The Radio seems fine, I have charged the 2000mah nimh transmitter batteries a week ago and put only 10 packs through it (In which I experienced slight glitching) Note that it seems to be a bit more glitchy with the shell on as the receiver antenna does not protrude out the top of the shell. My Radio and Receiver are Flysky GT2B. Could it be that the receiver needs to be replaced or is it time for a new radio system. Thank you for reading, it is quite a mouthful
