RE: Robbe Skyflex Manual
I know this is an old thread, but I had trouble finding a manual myself. This is for the V(erbrenner) Version = Fuel Version. But for electric a lot of things are similar. So I hope this comes in handy for those (still) looking for the manual. [link=http://www.rc-info.at/download.php?id=14]Manul Skyflex V[/link]

RE: RC Surfer
Ed, it is wise to only use NiCd or Nimh with your setup. If you were to run lipo with that ESC, you would probably drain the lipo too much before you would notice that the lipo is getting empty. By then it is too late and you have damaged your lipo. You can charge it again, but it will not hold as much mAh as before. And probablyt hte pack wil start to swell (sign of mis-used lipo). To be safe just Nicd or Nimh. But then the next question comes: how old are the NiCd packs you want to use? And how long has it been since they have been used? If the packs hve been retired for a couple of years, I am afraid they will not work so good anymore. You could try to cycle them several times (charge - discharge). But even then it will remain doubtfull if they can deliver the Amps wanted in full action. Before we go any further please share with the details of your Nicd pack(s). - number of cells - mAh - age / last time used Then we can give you proper and direct advise.

RE: RC Surfer
But Ed, get rid of the Tamiya plug on your ESC. That is not suited for higher Amps. Replace them by 4mm gold-plugs (at least that is what I use).

RE: RC Surfer
Itsfishi, your question got me thinking. In my crawler I do not need EPO, so I did not noticed it there. With my buggy I haven't been driving on a course but just outdoors. A quick browse through Google showed that more people are having trouble with the EXPO. But there is a solution: flashing it!!! And there is a guy in Sydney who can do it for you. See the following post: http://www.rctech.net/forum/8999496-post1179.html Klick on the link in the righthand corner to read the entire thread ( I haven't done that myself, just a quick read). So far it has not bothered me (haven't missed it yet )

RE: RC Surfer
itsfishi I got the same transmitter (other vendor), and bought 6 receivers ($6,-) with it. For my boats (projects), my crawler, rc-buggy, rc shortcourse. So I still had some receivers in stcok for the surfboards. It functions perfectly, respons is fast no problems encountered. Very satisfied with this buy. Especially for that price !! Ok, screen is hard to read in direct sunlight, but I even have some problem reading teh screen of my Multiplex EVO9 (for serious RC-Flying) in the sunlight. But it is no problem for me as setups are performed at home.

RE: RC Surfer
Cananzi, what is your setup? In a couple posts above you mention 3S, but in the film it says 2S 2800KV. What kind of prop are you using? BTW, as I am going for a setup of" 3S 3200mAh, 2700KV Turnigy BL3656-2700 watercooled, 120Amp watercooled ESC (overkill but only available ESC at that time), 4mm flexshaft Graupner, ETTI flex coupler, 29mm (and/)or 31m Graupner prop (speed 43mm) Allmost all the parts have come in, so this weekend I gonna start siliconing, glueing, soldering etc. I will be adding a lot of re-enforcements for the motor-mount and the deck-screws. NQD-board has been split, old shaft removed, some more room created for the motor can. Just the neoprene is still to arrive. I'll keep you posted.
