RE: Setting endpoint/centerpoint using HFP-20 or programmable Tx
To setup an MXS-R which has large control surfaces to fly IMAC. Which does not need 3D surface deflection. Which method is best, reduce the servo travel by setting the end points in the transmitter or using HFP-25 to set the the servo end points. Both method can be set to get the same result but which will give the best in flight feel and stick movement to surface movement resolution.

RE: Dz 160 fuel pump prime
Thank you for the reply apereira. The engine is mounted on a YS supermount. The plane is a mxs-r which I would like to try in IMAC. I have been starting it with a very nearly closed throttle which makes it start with out kicking. I plan on getting a Rcats glow starter with a 5 second delay. The engine was very well oiled up on the orginal starting. It responds very well to hi speed needle and regulator adjustments. Ihave been getting to the point that throttle response is reliable. The fuel is cool power pattern 20% nitro, it will not develop the power of 30% cool power nitro. It is swing a pattern prop 16x12 at 8200 to 8400 and it is still rich. Thanks for your help with this engine.

RE: Dz 160 fuel pump prime
Thank you for the reply apereira. Are you using a check valve on your vent line. I put in a long vent line that loops to the back of the tank than excites at the fire wall. I spent some time with the engine today with a much better feeling in the end. Troys starting method seemed to work quite well. Boy one mistake and that engine kicks like a mule. Have two other ys engines that run quite well. Thanks for the info.

RE: YS 110FZ throttle barrel setting
When my 110fz not will start the first thing is a new glow plug. Then test the check valve to see if it is holding pressure. Spin the engine for several minutes than open a the line you fill the tank with you should hear the pressure relief from the fuel tank. After sitting for a long time the regulator and the check valve can become loaded with oil. In this case I just turn the plane upside down on a stand and prime the engine by putting a little fuel in through the muffler. Hand turn the prop several revs to get fuel in the cylinder, connect the glow and spin it. After a couple of these bursts she ready to go. My engine is four years old and the regulator has never been apart. A wonderful engine.

RE: Dz 160 fuel pump prime
Hi apereira Thank you for the response. I have since researhed some of Troy Newmans articles on the Dz engines and found them very helpful. I have put a clear fuel line between the pump and the carb which made it easy to see the bubbles moveing in the fuel line. With your method the bubbles move with every stroke of the pump. So do you leave the pump primed (when the engine is in daily use)? Everyone talks about the DZ flooding, this engine with the throttle closed will not accept fuel to the carb. If the throttle is near wide open the carb will accept fuel with very little pressure applied. So when does this flooding take place? Asuming you leave the engine parked with the throttle closed. Thank you for your time.

Dz 160 fuel pump prime
The engine is new and never been run before. The fuel pump will not pick up fuel until you prime the pump. No air in the pump suction line and it will pump. I can pushed fuel through the pump with a suringe when I remove the hi speed needle. Fuel will also move through system when I open the throttle near full open (into the injector line). The engine does run well once the pump gets primed. I'm new to this type of ys engine. Any Idea's

WOW!!!! This is a STUNNING piece of work! I think you just absolutely nailed a proper update of this iconic sub. I'd LOVE to see your take on an updated Flying Sub, Diving Bell and Mini-Sub too. I'm very interested in a kit of the future Seaview if you ever make any available.

RE: ys 110 fuel line
Set up the fuel lines as per the diagram in the FZ110 operator's manual. To run smoke use a smoke oil pump. To fill and depressure the ys system, put a tie and dot in the pressure line between the check valve and the fuel tank to depressure the system. Put a tie and dot between the engine fuel filter and the tank use this dot to fill the tank. When I finish flying for the day, I remove the the depressure vent dot and replace it with a fuel filter. This vents the fuel tank pressure and allows the tank to equalize keeping stress off of the fuel regulator system. Been doing this for several years on two different ys engines, it makes them easier to start the next time you go to the field.

Troy what is the difference between cool power propattern 25% fuel and coolpower 25%fuel. I run a ys 110 in a Hangar 9 Showtime and love the engine. I have been useing propattern 25%.

RE: Anyone used a Thunder Power 610C charger ?
To me the 610c seemed very hot. The battery voltage was 6.4 volts measured. The cutoff was set at 2.8 volts and discharge rate was 85 ma. The battery type is LiFePo. 2s. The charge cycle seems to work well and the unit does not get hot at all.

Anyone used the 610c with a LiFePo battery? On a discharge test what does the flashing E mean? The battery volts are above the cutoff but 610c has stopped discharging the battery.

RE: How well did your YS run after sending it in for service?
Hi guys I sent a ys 63 in for repair. I had fuel problem than crashed the plane. The engine was repaired including a new crank. The engine ran so so. So I emailed Dave he recommend heli 30% fuel and I have never looked back. I love the engine. [:)]

RE: Hanger 9 F-22 Craptor
Hi all. I have finally got my Raptor flying really good. It took a bit of work and pay carefull attention to the adjustments especially where the ailerons and flaps should be. I have a GMS 61 a 10x10 prop and a 6 volt battery for torque and rear weight. after that it's a good flyer, fast. C Hardy.

Well. I went to the City this weekend. Found a Raptor in grey. So I bought it and a GMS 61. I have it about 90% together and will try and fly it this week. I added some yellow and black checker stripes to the stabs and elevator to make it easier to see. I will send some Pics when it's done. Thanks for the info on the planes. C Hardy.

RE: KMP Flycat
I think that this plane coming with flaps and retract ready is the way one of these sleek / jet style planes should be made. Does anyone have detail pics of one of these planes as they are building ? Also what will be the max diameter prop we will be able to run ? I have a ASP 91 sitting around with nothing to put it on. If I can fit a prop for it this baby should move. LOL. Thanks. C Hardy.

After trying to talk to the people at Nitro models I have given up on getting a Bobcat. I talked to the people at KMP and i will order one of there planes. Good service means a lot. They were very nice to talk to. I hope to see a video of one of these Flycat's flying soon. C Hardy.

RE: newbie pusher questions
I'd like to throw in an additional question. Is there a problem with the pusher's engine cooling? While on the ground the air in front of the prop is moving much slower than the air behind it. Is the airspeed in front of the propeller sufficient to cool combustion engines? I've been toying with the idea of an engine cowl ending only a few millimeters in front of thew prop, hoping the prop would suck some air past the engine surface at a higher speed.

RE: Nitro Planes Falcon 120
Hi, I've been reading the threads in relation to the Bobcat $139 retract ready. And the Kee cat, $199.00 with retracts I really want one of these. The Bobcat is cheaper / retract ready. But is one a better quality model ? If anyone has some qualified input before I lay out my money it would be appreciated. Thanks. C Hardy.
