RE: H-9 Jackal 50
Hi Harry, Hands down I love the 50 size Sundowner the most. My first one was running a .95ax but it way to heavy, but it certainly was quick. It was fitted the same way as the Dubb Jett 60LXH and I used one of their tuned pipes. A .75ax will fit no problem but a little work will be needed. My latest Sundowner runs the Dubb Jett 60LXH, lite super fast and reliable. http://www.jettengineering.com/sundowner.html

RE: H-9 Jackal 50
Hi Mark, the OS .75 will not fit, they recommend you use a Evolution .52NX or .60NX small base engine in this plane. A pity it would be a weapon with a .75.

RE: ****????
Well its does state 4.8v to 6v for RT-88 retract servo, other versions NES 513, 713 & 791 says to use 4.8V. I have only ever used Hitec retract servos in the past, the 4.8v always turned me off JR versions. But why is the RT-88 dying all the time, are you over driving it in either direction? Can you adjust the end points on the RT-88, on the Hitec servo you cant, but Spektrum version you can. http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/rt88-retract-servo-JSP20080#t2

RE: ****????
I beleive JR retract servo's can only take 4.8 volts, any more will cause it to crap itself. Better off getting a good metal gear ball bearing servo and use that so can adjust the end points.

RE: which servo tester to get......
Have had 2 of the "Turnigy" servo centerers/testers and they are useless. I replaced the first because i thought it was a bad one, it wasnt they are all bad. Basically plug in servo and center it, contect push rod, then when you go to bind RX all servo's arent centered? Its okay to test but dont use it to center.

I'm trying to find reasonably priced 22.2v 6s 5000mah 35c li-pos. They will be powering a 72" F-9 Panther EDF, on the below website they are $170.00 each, which i think is a little expensive. The problem occured about 3.5 to 4 years ago. At my club we had 5 x DX7's replaced, one had his replaced twice.. Lemons happen, but it can certainly give the manufacturer a bad name.

RE: Dx8 still has problems
I believe what tncrosby is saying, its obviously the transmitter. Of course using 4v RX batteries isnt a good idea but people are using them and having no problems even with Spektrum. Its clear that the TX is not sending a full strength signal all of the time which forces the RX to go off air and then the plane crashes. In Australia we received a large batch of Spektrum DX7's, this same senario as above was happening. All the TX's including mine were replaced, and of course no reason was forth comming from the Aussie importer. Basically he has a lemon DX8 and needs to have it replaced, I personally would have had it replaced at crash 3 but thats me.

April 1994 was the highlight of our Clubs activities, when a small contingent of members took 3 identical model aircraft all the way to West. Australia, and flew one of the models back to the South Australian border, in one flight without landing for fuel, and achieving a new WORLD RECORD for single flight long distance of 493 kms. The successful pilot was PETER GARONI.

RE: Anybody converted futaba 8fg to use other diy module like frsky?
ORIGINAL: jcervantes11 Ewwww. No thanks. I want to take advantage of ACCST technology. FrSKY ACCST technology is proven, approved by many model associations, tested and reviewed as the leading Chinese 2.4Ghz R/C Technology. If you think DSM2 or FASST is the best, think again! New FrSKY ACCST (Advanced Continuous Channel Shifting Technology) gives you secure radio communicatios in 2.4Ghz band. ACCST 2.4GHz system shifts 80 channels around hundred times per second in the 2.4GHz band. This means that the system is completely resistant to interference in that band. Features: Advanced Continuous Channel Shifting Technology (ACCST is our advanced tecnology it shifts channel hundred times per second and there is no signal conflicts and interruptions) robust frequency agility. Easy to bind and very fast link-up. Excellent reboot time. True Diversity with two antennas. All channels can be programmed with Failsafe, quickly and easily. Quick and extremely stable in performance. Precise and smooth servo response.
Thats a pretty interesting comment! FrSKY if I'm not mistaken cloned Futaba FASST technology in the first place which is channel hopping, which means their ACCST technology is just FrSKYS copy/version of FASST channel hopping technology.

Wanted Hurricane ARF 90/120 size not fibreglass
Hi guys, Im trying to find a ARF RAF Hurricane size .90 to .120 Battle Of Britain version that is made of ply and balsa. Black Horse have a 50cc version which is to big, VQ are to small and have the wrong versions and ESM 26cc one is fibreglass. Also I dont want to use petrol but am willing to go up to .220 4 stroke if a kit is out there somewhere. Thanks Herbs

RE: Futaba RX confusion
ORIGINAL: fmw
ORIGINAL: mach2 you can get a new 617 Rx on ebay for 69.95 shipped. I may have gone with a JR or spektrum had I known more. Futaba is expensive and limited. all those plug and play parkzone planes aren't compatible with futaba. Id like to try some of those little foamies some time, so ill have to use an expensive futaba Rx. Some guys use those hobbyking orange receivers. I personally wouldn't risk an expensive plane to save 50 bucks though. Maybe on one of those foamies.... <a target=''_blank'' href=''http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14300__OrangeRx_Futaba_FASST_Compatible_8Ch_2_4Ghz_Receiver.html''>www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14300__OrangeRx_Futaba_FASST_Compatible_8Ch_2_4Ghz_Receiver.html
I'm using the FRSky receivers now. They are a clone of the R617 Futaba receiver but with nicer fit and finish and a slightly smaller case. $24 each at Hobby King. The Futaba receiver isn't any better.
Say what, a cloned copy made in China is just as good as a Futaba original? Yes I would put one in my $1000.00 plane and save $45.00 ummm i dont think so. Infact all the HK rubbish receivers should be banned by each countries governing body, they are illegal copies, using them encourages it more.

Hi Andy, regarding the decals by mate owns a vinal cutting machine, and he was nice enough to do me some new ones. With regard to the lustrekote, i made sure the surfice was clean, applied decals and then sprayed, just make sure its not to cold or to hot when applying. Your engine choices are fine, but you cant beat the sound of a four stroke in a warbird. Herbs

I used a product call Lustre Coat, I got it at my local hobby shop. No surface prep is required except make sure the surface is clean, and then just spray it on. Its also fuel resistant, but after applying have to be careful ironing the covering, need to put a cloth between iron and covering or it will burn.

RE: Knowledge Quiz for Warbird wiz
And we have a winner! Congrats rgburrill I'm looking for an airplane: 1. It has one engine and entered service with the RAF in late 1942 2. Although based on one of the best USA fighters of WW2, this aircraft was designed for different duties. 3. This version kept the original engine, later versions changed powerplants 4. The USAAF & RAF expected this aircraft to operate below 12000 feet while on a mission 5. This version was fitted with dive brakes and bomb racks The first A-36A (42-83663) was rolled out of the NAA Inglewood plant in September 1942, rapidly going through flight testing with the first flight in October, with deliveries commencing soon after of the first production machines emerged. The A-36A continued the use of nose-mounted .50 in (12.7 mm) machine guns along with wing armament of four .50 in (12.7 mm) caliber machine guns. The USAAF envisaged that the dive bomber would operate mainly at altitudes below 12,000 ft (3,658 m) and specified the use of a sea level-rated Allison V-1710-87, driving a 10 ft 9 in (3.28 m)-diameter three bladed Curtiss-Electric propeller and delivering 1,325 hp (988 kW) at 3,000 ft (914 m).[10] The main air scoop inlet was redesigned to become a fixed unit with a larger opening, replacing the earlier scoop which could be lowered into the airstream. In addition the A-36 carburetor air intake was later fitted with a tropical air filter to stop sand and grit being ingested into the engine.[6][11] The USAAF later ordered 310 P-51As which were essentially A-36s without the dive-brakes and nose mounted weapons, leaving an armament of four wing-mounted 0.50 in (12.7 mm) Browning machine guns.[12] An Allison V-1710-81 1,200 hp (895 kW) was fitted and used the same radiator and air intake as the A-36A. The P-51A was still fitted with bomb racks although it was not intended to be used primarily as a fighter-bomber and the racks were mainly used to carry drop tanks.[12][13]
