RE: *New Bravata 30cc Gasser*
Howard, By any chance do you fly at the "Osceola Flyers" club? Ed And Thanks for the info on your trimming efforts. I think we will play with the right thrust a little more next weekend... With the short nose and very long tail moment that could be what is causing the issue... But then again even with the extra trim it flies great!

RE: *New Bravata 30cc Gasser*
I test flew one of these this weekend with a DLE30. Perfect combo...! What a great plane with so many possible activities... The only oddball item was the bird did require right aileron and right rudder trim to fly true... I little more than I expected. We did add some additional right thrust and it helped but didn't have time to finish all of the trimming. We'll work on that more next weekend... Ed

14MZ and GY401?
HIya Guys! I have been trying to setup my 401 on my 14MZ for my 450 Trex. This is the 1st heli I have setup on this TX, I have only had the 14MZ for a short time so I'm on a steep learning curve... Anyway.. I have the Gyro up and running but I want to setup a switch to change between AVCS and Rate. I had this setup with my 10C and it functioned with no issues. But I'm unable to get the 401 to respond to the switch. In the Gyro menu once you select a switch and an off position (In my case SC switch.) it shows off when the switch is thrown but the 401 still shows a solid red LED??? Also you could reset the 401 on my 10C by flipping the switch 3times in rapid secession... And I can't get this to work on the 14MZ... I know it is my lack of experiance with the TX but any suggestions would be appreciated! Also found that with the Switch set in the gyro menu that the Gyro doesn't want to respond although it is showing a solid Red LED...? The Delay is set to "0" and the trim is just shy of "100" and I'm using a 9257 servo. I did move all of the connections around to match up with the new channel mapping of the 14MZ and the RX is a 617. Thanks in advanced! Ed "lost with a 14MZ" Harley

14MZ and Trex 450
Hello Everyone! I'm currently trying to setup a Trex 450 on my new 14MZ.. The Heli was previuosly setup on my 10C and worked with no issues. I have just completed the intial CCPM setup and started on the Throttle. For some reason as I advance throttle in Normal mode it appears to be using a soft start setting? If I advance the throttle quickly the head lags behind before if finially catches up. the Align ESC is in it's stock config. Any suggestions? I have checked every menu on the TX but haven't found anything that could account for this. Needless to say I still have a lot to learn about the 14MZ... Thanks, Ed Harley

RE: Futaba R6014 Question
Dan, You are correct for a single battery connection. But if dual connections are used, which is what I thought his problem was about and one them is which, i.e. the positive and negtive are swapped in the connecter you certainly will have a short... I did it myself on a home made pack were I failed to double check my orinination on the plugs... I was able to quickly negate the short by pulling the first power lead I could reach. The RX is still working strong to this day and I had to rewire the homemade A123 pack. Not one of my brighter moments.. LOL Ed I'm not sure if that is the problem just something I encountered..
ORIGINAL: DAN AVILLA Just to clear that up. If you plug it in reverse nothing will happen. I just did that also. He is right about the positive needing to be in the center. Make sure you were not useing a airtronics extension.  Dan
RE: Futaba R6014 Question
Shawn, As stated DG 1 & 2 are digi on/off ports. They are connected to the main buse and can be used for power at anytime. If you are using a non Futaba plug just make sure the polarity is correct. Left pin is Black and the Center is Red. ( Referenced while looking at the end of RX with the face up with the DG plugs on the bottom...) If you get the wrong order it will short the Battery... Good Luck, Ed "6014" Harley
ORIGINAL: YellowAircraft Hi, Who's the 6014 guru? Anyone wanna give me a ring on a problem I'm having with this Rx? 619-944-7574. The Rx seems to be working fine, but did I just ruin this thing? What's the deal with the DG1 and DG2 ports??
Ok... Update! I have a "New to me" 14MZ! It is a 2 years old with little use and received excellent care by the previuos owner... What a Radio! I'm still amazed at the learning curve on this TX even after all of the reading I did prior to my purchase! I want to thank everyone for the feedback while I was considering the purchase... WM. Sorry but you're going to need to provided more info than that for a good answer... Is this a fun fly or aerobatic plane? Gas or electric? A gas Fun fly wouldn't need the same servo as a Competition Aerobatic plane.. Good Luck, Ed

fiifi, You can actually do that yourself.. The instructions are on the Futaba website / faq... Strange that this thread should come up as I just completed a transaction for 14mz on this site! I'm really looking forward to using it...! Strangely enough as well my old trusty 10C lost another Digital trim switch so the timing is pretty good as I will need to send it in to get repaired after I get the my new 14MZ (new to me At least.) Used 14MZ thoughts?
02/25/2012 Ok, I have always been a mid range TX user… My first TX was a World Engines 5 channel in 76, later a World Engine Expert 7 channel. Anyway I’m currently using a Futaba 10C that I bought new to replace my tried and true 8USuper that finally gave out after nearly 10 years of use… So after all of that, I have been watching the “For Sale listings and have seen a lot of 14MZ’s selling for between 1000 to 1500 dollars and have been considering buying one… This would be my first opportunity to buy a high end TX so I was wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions or concerns about a second hand 14MZ. I have had other second hand TX’s over the years with no real issues, I picked up a spare 8USuper once and the only thing it needed was to be sent in for a broken switch and some updates and it served me well for years but for a lot less money than I’m contemplating here… ;-) Thanks for any feedback! RE: Why Beginners Do Not Want To Join Clubs
It is all about interpersonnel relationships.... You can either create them or not... Some people are just not good at it, or willing to try... It is like the ol'saying "If you've been married 5 times, hell maybe it's you...." ;-) I have been a part of many clubs over 40 years and I have enjoyed them all, some just took a little more time... LOL But all of the above being said some of the best times I have had over the years has been at "Outlaw" fields... Several years ago I flew with a group of foamy flyers who had a pilot who would end his the flying day by opening up the back of his SUV and trying to fly/crash his foamy into the back...! Ya just don't see that kind of fun at a AMA field... LOL Ed "I will force you to have fun" Harley

Oh H*ll Yeah! My friend and I use to celibrate Fathers day together with a trip to the swamp without the wives and children..! We would then proceed to drink and ride and even fly RC aircraft from our secluded camp, it was a blast. We even tried to shoot them down with a semi auto 410 shotgun! Amazing how much abuse they can take! :-) Certainly wouldn't recommend it for those who don't have access to an area like ours that didn't have people for miles around.. Good times!
