ORIGINAL: crazyflyboy30 You lost a cylinder.Did you find it? Where did go? What did it do ? Did you lose fire or bad plug or Compression ?
At a bar down the road, drinking beer with a cheap looking Redhead... ;-) The remainder of question is answered in the picture above look at the right hand plug and you will see a piece of debrie between the electrode and the bar. After replacing with a fresh set of CM-6's it is running strong and even starting a little quicker... (I didn't expect that.) Ed

RE: GP Cap 580 1/3 scale
Agcat, Just my opinion... But that Transmitter is just not the right choice for a 100cc bird... I would look into a something HighEnd from Futaba or JR like a 10C or 12X... 2.4 is certainly the protocal that you want to use today they operate in a higher bandwidth and have unique tranmission protocals that make them very resistant to interferance from external sources and other TX's... RE: GP Cap 580 1/3 scale
Ag, This a a fairly easy and simple plane to setup... I would suggest not getting anymore complex than needed... But the first thing you need to address is why you are getting glitching...? I have been messing with Gas for awhile using FM, PCM and now 2.4 with no glitching. I would suggest that you change RX and TX first and see if it suddenly goes away. If it does then retest using the TX and then the RX to determine which is the culpret... If that doesn't work start the next series of tests by removing one component at a time until the glitching goes away... (That is how I would start.) BTW what Radio system are you using? Now for the equipment, This is my setup (not the only one you can use.) I have 4 3050 servos in the wings. (I need to change them out for more powerful ones at a later date but they get the job done for IMAC style flying.) 2 7985's in the elevators. 2 9152's setup as a pull pull on the Rudder. 1 9650 for the Throttle. 2 A123 2300mah Battery packs. 1 6014HS RX 4 HD swithes. (one to the ignition, the other 3 to the RX.) 1 Smartfly optical kill switch. Oh and I use match boxes for the two servos in the wings I find it simpler in the long run but there are a lot of different ways to do mutiple wing servos.. That is about all I can think of right now.. Good Luck, Ed
ORIGINAL: gauravag Thanks everyone ! I guess A123 is the way to go. Does anyone use it with Futaba FAAST receivers ? and are their any problems ( since the A123 battery voltage is greater than the max 6V recommended by Futaba ) ? Thanks ! RE: WOW!! New DL 111cc and 55cc !
Folks, I have started my DLE111 for the first time... The low needle was a out 1 turn from the factory and the engine wouldn't start. After adding a 1/2 turn it will start in 3 flips when warm... Now my problem appears that I can't get the Hi Needle to do anything... The engine falls on its face at the last 3rd of the throttle and will only rev to 5100 RPMs. This is with a TBM 27/10. Which appears to be very similar to a Xoar prop of the same size... Any suggestions? I have pulled the plugs and they look good for less than 16ozs run thru... Thanks, Ed

Thanks for the confirmation Super 8. I noticed that the trigger magnet was drilled and install very close to the edge of the prop drive so I thought it was ok... Just nice to know it is also normal.. :-) Here is what it is mounted on! Ed

Hiya DL111 owners! Question... How much space does your engine have between the Prop drive flange and the Engine case? Mine is over 1/8 inch.... RE: GP Cap 232
Les, This bird is very similar to my Midwest Cap 232 in size and weight. And by using a 2 stroke you will be on the lite side. This means you will have a very nice flyer that will out perform anything you have flown before. The only tip I have to offer is I believe you should have your Elevator on a Dual rate switch for your maiden and have the low rate set to only 11 to 12 degrees of travel. The Elevator setup on a Cap is very powerful and doesn't require that much movement for effective control... Your are really gonna enjoy this plane! :-) Ed

ClarkJ, A 1.80 Saito would not be enough at all. Maybe a 2.20 Saito? A big OS 2 stroke or MOki would power it Ok. I have a Brison 40cc set aside for this bird for down the road... Good Luck, Ed

69Runner, I use the same tap and it works fine.. Just an additional suggestion, dial down the smoke oil volumn to 50% right off... And then adjust to the desired level. I have found that both pumps that I have tried (TME and Sullivan) that they pump way more Oil then needed... Good LUck! Ed
