RE: What are the excuses you have heard?
"I ain't got it,"........when you hear that from someone on the flight line and see the end result you can be sure that there will be plenty of "speculation" on the part of the pilot, and anyone else in attendance, on every possible cause for the failure. Unfortunately in most cases pilot error won't ever be one of them [;)]

Rick Broussard (Bagostix) has passed away
Was just on FG and saw this information regarding the passing of Rick Broussard aka Bagostix: Not sure how many knew Rick Broussard. He was the owner of ACM and designer of the 52% EDGE and the WHIPLASH that ACM sold. He was the president of the Acadiana RC club for a number of years as well. He was killed last night in a car accident in Lafayette, LA. I had dealings with Rick and was always impressed with his honesty. Sad to see another good one join the Pilots Eternal club[&o]

RE: sorry, can't keep my mouth shut about this
The fact of the matter is we Americans want to have it all.... We want lots of "stuff" to play with We want that stuff to be cheap, cheap, cheap.....even if that means the only place that can make it at the price we're willing to pay is a third world country We want to keep our high paying job while pushing our friends and neighbors out of theirs when their company can't compete with third world produced products Decide what you want folks......a solid, middle class for the many at a slightly increased cost to all of us or a small group of rich folks and lots of folks barely hanging on by a thread

RE: pay-pal money FROZEN
Hey Luchnia, As I stated in my emails I keep little, if any funds in the checking account I have tied to my Paypal account. If I'm buying something I normally use a credit card to really CYA in case of issues. One thing to make sure of is that you set up the checking account so that if there are insufficient funds you don't get hit with an overdraft fee ..... At one point early on before going totally CC for paypal payments I missed accounting for a purchase from funds in my checking account and then went and made another one a few days later assuming I had sufficient funds to pay. The latter transaction triggered an overdraft and a $29.95 "bank fee".....luckily I was a customer in good standing at the bank and when I went in and explained the situation they waived the fee. But I made sure to set up the account so it could not be overdrawn in the future. Glad so many have had so little trouble with Paypal....it is a convenient service.

RE: pay-pal money FROZEN
Leave 6 or 7 figures in your account......it's your money and you're free to do with it as you wish....I'll just be on the other side with $0 balance in mine.

RE: pay-pal money FROZEN
Taz, The other side of that coin is that with no communication from paypal at all funds in my account can be frozen for an unspecified amount of time until they, and only they, are satisfied with explanations and proof I must spend time and effort to provide. If you check my ratings I have nothing but positives across numerous years of selling and buying items from minimum to maximum $$$. Once I have sent the items I've sold out via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation, or via Forward Air Freight with insurance to cover the selling price I have every right to do what I want with the funds sent to me......nothing fraudulent or no scam going on just the way business like this needs to be handled to protect my interests.

RE: pay-pal money FROZEN
Had a few "issues" with Paypal, specifically when a vendor went beyond 45 days to deliver an item and I wanted to file a complaint/claim and PP said, "sorry but it's too late". Fortunately I almost always use my credit card to fund purchases, paying off the charges when they come due, so I just went to the CC company and asked that the charge in question to Paypal be frozen, having not received the promised goods. They took care of it immediately ad lo and behold Paypal started "crying" about how come I couldn't work with them and such. I also use another bank account to immediately transfer funds out of my PP assigned bank account so they can't drain my bank account Paypal is a nice way to get and receive funds but remember it's a business that takes care of itself first and foremost.

RE: Jet flying at fairview PA (Hamburg) thread
Came out to fly and fly I did.......the weather was outstanding, the jets were awesome and the fliers were the best. Thanks to my buds Berk and Billy for helping me out again this year! Thanks also to the Farview RC crew for making it happen without a hitch once again. Already have next year "time off" set aside for this meet.

No reason to "think that"....but again when someone buys a business they obviously do so with the intent to make a profit equal to or greater than that which is currently being generated. Can only wait and see.... Bill

Great thread with awesome details..... Picked up Don Winn's SG Hawk last year but will likely be selling it due to lack of time to go out flying. You can see it if you do a search on youtube for Kentucy Jets 2008. If anyone is interested let me know and we can talk before I "officially" post for sale. Bill

RE: Gruman Ag-Cat
Quick question for all you Ag-Cat fans out there... What would you estimate the size/wingspan of an Ag-Cat would have to be to put the "smallest" Moki radial (150 cc) up front on the firewall? I love the sound of those radials but will do anything to stay with gas engines if possible. Thx, Bil
