RE: District X Election
Haven't seen a AMA person at our field in 20 years.... Toolman, Have you ever requested the DVP or an AVP to visit your club/flying site? If not, why not? My personal policy is to go where/when ever a club requests my presence. I consider it inpolite to barge in without being asked. I will stop by a flying site and talk with the fliers. I'm not big on remembering names, so I don't expect anyone to know mine. I'll wear my AMA hat but not my badge. I may introduce my self as a AVP, but really I'm just a visitor. If you ask me to come to your club meeting or your field, I will wear my AMA shirt, badge, and hat: expect to be introduced to the members/fliers present as a guest of the club, and try my best to answer questions, look at problems, WITHIN my percieved background and knowledge of AMA. I have been to many sites where in several districts where I was the first AMA ''officer'' to visit their field. It is always interesting to see how different fields approach the same problems of safety and field regulations. No one has a perfect lock but they all manage to fly well within their own requirements. I do not get the phone calls that my DVP gets. I get to sleep at night and have the ansewering machine take care of when I'm not by the phone. Unfortunatly a DVP doesn't have that privilege, he needs to be connected to a phone day and night. A cell phone is the only way right now of instant communications where ever the DVP is. Too many want to ''go to the man'' on top and he has to answer the questions/problems right then and there. RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**
Use the OS .55xAX and it just drops in no modifcations to the mount, and it's really fast and no CG change either.

Has anyone built on glass?
I have been building kits since I was in my teens....long time ago....started with stick rubber band powered to Top Flight War birds....always bulit on a flat board with some thing soft to pin into... ceiling tile. balsa building board, etc. However I recently replaced my work bench put a nice solid door top on it an now I wondering what to use to stick pins in.. I have a nice piece of plate glass and was wondering how it would work to place plans under the glass and use CA to tack pieces to the glass. I figure if careful you could remove the finished assenbly from the glass using a straight edge razor blade. Has anyone ever built using this method....or should I stick to a more proven method. Any comments are welcome Thanks

2.4 transmitter
Can you use a buddy box and trainer cord with a 2.4 transmitter? I have a new Futaba Transmitter and an older Futaba buddy box with a round plug and cord, will this set up work? Thanks in advance.

RE: Thumb rests for your transmitter sticks.
I injured my right thumb, cut off about 1/4 from the end and removed the pad where fingerprint is located. ( don't ask) Also same time cut into my right index finger. I could not hold the keys to start my car, I had to use my left hand from the passenger side, start the engine, then run around to drivers side to drive. This kinda cut down on my flying while my thumb was healing......however in about two weeks I gave a try and found that the pointy end of the right stick was to sharp and pained me a lot. Those thumb sticks from Madison saved my flying.... I used one on the right stick and I was able to fly even while all those nerves at the end of my thumb were still trying to reattach. Long story short it's been over a year and a half and I liked that thumb stick, I still have it attached to the right stick, altho I have the pointy end stick on the left side. Worked for me they are great!

[quote]ORIGINAL: mn5503 Yes the VoltWatch lights will dance when there's any inputs in the rx. Since H9 has discontinued the model pts mustang I have and redesigned the new one, can you still get replacement parts for the older model. I've seen them on eBay but nowhere on H9's site. I'll be flying this thing soon enough and chances are I could need an ocasional replacement part. I suppose I can just copy and fab my own. What have you guys been doing? RE: Removing alcohol from E10
You don't see my point, for many years our "old Clunkers" worked just fine, until those idiots decided to "reduce our dependence on foreign oil" by adding ethanol to the gas without doing any research. Now not only are we importing foreign oil we are importing ethanol why? because there is no facility on the island to manufacture it. So now we got higher prices for gas, reduced mileage , boaters stuck in the middle of the ocean, and we have to rebuild our equipment. Why? No one knows! Because the rest of the country is using it is not a good reason. In case you haven't noticed on your trip(s) here our prices are high enough with out unnecessarily inflating them further.
