RE: Where to buy Nitro Formula F1????
I'm pretty sure that's a Kyosho, but I can't remember the actual name of the chassis.

RE: gas or electric for drifting?
Electric is definitely more easy and practical, but nitro cars are still very fun. If you already have a nitro car, go ahead and do it. But if you need to start from scratch, electric would be the ideal route to take.

RE: Yokomo GT engine help...
pull the engine out and remove the glow plug, carb, and backplate and spray a liberal amount of WD-40 in there and let it sit for a few hours, grab the flywheel with your hand and try to turn it over slowly, as you do it will free up and rotate easily after a while. Rinse the engine out with WD-40 afterwords to remove any particulate matter in the motor, and make sure the cassettes in the bearings are rotating while the balls are spinning. If you want to, before you run it put a few drops of after run oil (50:50 Marvel Mystery oil and ATF) down the plug hole and turn it over. Be sure to use a little O2 sensor safe RTV on the backplate and neck of the carb when you put it back together to eliminate air leaks. As for the carb, use glow fuel and soak it with the needle valve removed, or blast it out with carb cleaner. Standard Touring car shocks should fit, I can't remember what I have on my GT-4, but I don't think they're Yokomo shocks.

RE: Going on a diet, need ideas.
ORIGINAL: Spetz + why all sports FR cars have the engine place as far back to the firewall as possible Some 4 Cyls (like Honda S2000 and Nissan 200SX) actually have the engine sitting almost fully behind the wheels (not full, but the 1st cylinder is about where the wheels are)
That's one of the high points of my car, the compactness of the rotary engine allows it to sit behind the front cross member. For cutting down on weight, you could replicate any flat piece of aluminum (preferably non-structural) with fiberglass. It would be very easy to replicate the upper chassis in flat fiberglass (or CF if you want to get fancy) I was planning on buying a GTP myself, and this was on my list of mods. If you wanted to, you could lay up your own glass, and make as many or as few layers as you want, and cut out the pieces once the glass cures. If you wanted to keep the dust pans, you could use them to make a mold, and make a thin, single layer (or double) copy of the stock plastics out of fiber glass. Another option (and more expensive) would be to switch to a lithium battery with a regulator (actually I think they make 6.0v lithium pack for planes now, I have no idea, I've been out of the hobby for a few years now). When I switched to a lithium pack in my BRP, the run times were incredible, and the batteries are much lighter. You need to buy a special charger for that though.

RE: Superior NITRO TRUCK
It all depends on what you want to do with the truck, I have a revo, and it's a great race truck. I've been through at least 20 gallons of fuel with it, and no broken chassis parts. I've broken multiple track records with it, and run circles around other trucks (LSTs, T-Maxxes, many savages, etc.) Best truck I've ever owned. As a former employee of a hobby shop (fixing and tuning cars and trucks) I can tell you that the revo is by far the most well engineered truck of them all, super easy to work on, and a very high level of quality throughout, and very excellent suspension, it makes Savages look like a joke. I beat the hell out of mine, and it never gave me any trouble. The only thing I can think of off hand that i replaced due to wear (besides the engine) were the shock ends, which stretch. I replaced those with Golden Horizon billet shock ends. But if winning races isn't what you're after, get a Savage, and jump it over some houses.

Fuel mix for a diesel car
A while back I started building a Diesel powered Kyosho Ultima stadium truck (4 years ago). I just got the truck back out and I'm thinking about finishing the project (along with all the other cars, boats, planes, after I finish my mazda though [&:] ) But here's the problem, I can't remember what to do about fuel. I was going to have fuel mixed (I can't remember who I was recommended to, either powermax or redmax or something like that) and I had a fuel mixture written down, but where that is is a complete mystery. It would be great if someone could recommend me a fuel mixture that would be suitable to car use, and a company that would mix the fuel, or I could just buy the components and mix it myself. [:D] Old pics of the car: I now have a diesel-proof tank and line setup, and a dual remote needle valve setup somewhere in my garage (for ease of starting, one set for the hot mixture, and the other only open during starts).

RE: Engine Leaking
ORIGINAL: browney I have had to buy a new burn room for my engine and now it is leaking petrol out of the side
So you recently purchaced a new tuned pipe/header for your car engine, and now its leaking exhaust residue out of the pipe coupler or the space between the header/engine block? Use cable ties on the coupler, then use High temp O2 censor save RTV to make an exhaust gasket.

RE: LST vs. REVO At the Track!
ORIGINAL: creyc Very cool. Glad to hear they are out driving them. I think traxxas needs to offer a big block model, a .15 sized engine just doesn't cut it in the monster truck world anymore. I'm sure most hardcore racers drop in a mid block as soon as possible but it would be nice to see it come with more power stock.
The TRX 3.0/3.5 [:D] Anyway, the owners of the revos should adjust their suspension.[;)] The LST sounds really nice.

My father has one on order, a freind that owns a hobby shop ordered them in bulk, so my dad gets his for $409.99![X(] As for the steering servos, re-set the servo arms to center, to keep them from fighting each other. And make sure they're working in the same direction.[;)] Enjoy your Revo.
