ORIGINAL: Disney1 Hornet We will get it going for you. one way or another. What happend to the Fuseno fuselage?
Still have it, but to insert the bird into frame, you needed fingers the size of a 2 month old, plus the time it would take to do up the 3 screws after placing battery in, you would loose preciouse battery life, but the Heliartist is a magnet front fit, and fully open, easy to work on ,(if i get right intructions), but for looks the Fusano wins hands down, for ease of battery connection the Heliartist wins as well, plus it is cheaper.

RE: monsoon 900
ORIGINAL: Psyclone Hi all,im a keen r/c yacht and REAL yacht sailor! I found the monsoon on ebay and Iam up to my 13th boat now (im the buyer for my buddies so we are not bidding against each other) what started off as just 4 of us is now 13 and and climbing!we have races at least twice a week, at night down at our local rockpool and have loads of fun,we also take them down to our yacht club and sail them after a race on the yachts at the marina, good for shits and giggles! I generally mod. them for everyone but keep them basic so as to keep it cheap and close! firstly i replace the rigging with spectra fishing braid (dynema) its about 80lbs and cost me about $100 for 300meters. then i chop the threads down on the keel rod so it doesnt protrude past the deck or the ballast bulb! then using silicon i fill the recess in the bulb and tighten the nut untill the excess squeezes out and then wipe off excees. Then i fill the hole in bottom of the bulb with silicon too, when it has hardened i trim excess of with a sharp blade like a box knife etc! i dont bother with the standard hatch i use ''contact'' (film for covering school books etc)looks like cling wrap but sticky,i bought a 5mx 500mm roll of it for about $3 (lots of waterproof hatch covers there)and just have a heap precut! The rudder slop i took up by wrapping some plumbers thread tape around the rudder shaft until i was happy with the fit. i sail expensive int. one meters and marbleheads but find these little boats fantastic value for money and great for what we are using them for
with the rigging replacement, what did you use to tension the rigging? thinking of doing the same as well.

Larrykin, can you give the link to your hobby shop for the turnbuckles? also would it be better to leave the jib a little loose near the mast to catch wind, and same with mainsail ,but at rear of the boom? or leave them tight ? and where do you sail your yachts, not far from fairfield. any help is needed. cheers

So I'll have to cut the nose off at a slight angle of one of my canopys to mount it. But it is reputed better quality video. It will balance me back though, because I have to put about 17 grams in the nose to balance the heavy pro tail and the 9257 servo, even thought the batt is all the way foward with extended tray.
ORIGINAL: roger.alli Bill, That is a very impressive set up. I particularly like the direct to swash servo mounts, a very clever bit of design ...And like you, I like the idear of the flybar/Hiller mixer frame being under the rotor. Obviously superior gear then the Esky or its clones. (I take it all back,,,,, this would be a very worth while upgrade..[:D][:D] A tip for applying thread lock... Dont try to apply it direct from the bottle nozzle as you will usually get far to much on the thread. Use a tooth pick. Dab a small drop from the bottle to the tooth pick and then apply a very small amount to the bolt threads. You don't need much.... RE: ........."BELT-CP THREAD"........
ORIGINAL: billmay
ORIGINAL: phillyD Hey Bill and Disney and guys who have used What is the beat with a 11 tooth pinion gear for the belt. Did a search vague though. What do you lose-I know a higher head speed is gained-would that mean less throttle imput/less RPM'-less curent draw-less heat? OH 3800kv motor
PhillyD, if you're going from 10 to 11 it will give higher head speed but the rest will likely be the opposite of what you said. When I built my 3DX450 I started with a 13T pinion with a 3500KV motor because that's what was recommended. However, head speed seemed really high and response was also quite twitchy (experienced 3D guys would have loved it but too much for me). I was only getting about 6-7 mins. hover time with a 2200 mAh 20C battery. Bought a tachometer and measured the head speed at ~3000 rpms. So I changed to an 11T and head speed dropped to ~2600 rpms and hover time went to 10 mins. So, higher head speed good for 3D but more current draw and less flight time. You trade performance for flight time. Although the 11T will give higher head speed, the motor also has to work harder to turn an 11T vs. a 10T pinion. Bill
Hey Billy, do you recommend some one who is haveing trouble hovering the CP to put a 11T gear on?
