RE: HPP-21 PLUS Will not Update
I am using a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop, Windows XP. Strange thing is that the divice worked until I tried to program my new 7955 servos. Wouldn't work at all. So I installed the latest software from Hitec and everything seemed fine. However, once I turned everything off and then tried again later it would not work. It had lost it's programming. Re-installed the software and all is fine again. Turned off, then tried again and the software update is gone again. Now it will not update at all and all five lights remain lit. I keep getting the message that my USB cable is not connected. Of course it is! [sm=disappointed.gif]

HPP-21 PLUS Will not Update
I can't seem to be able to get an answer from Hitec Customer Service so maybe someone on this forum can help me. I have a Hitec HPP-21 PLUS that I am unable to get to work at all. I have tried to install the latest version of software, but it will not install on the device. Every time I try to run the program I get the message that the UBS cable is not connected. Then the program dumps and I am back to square one. Round and round we go. All five lights are on and will not turn off for whatever that means. So far this device has not lived up to the typical Hitec quality that I have been used to after using Hitec servos for years.
ORIGINAL: kochj YAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Okay guys here it is.......................... HIFLY MODLES produces ALL OF the models the QQ aircraft had made!....Check out there website.... THey sell the 69'' as well, so if you need parts you can get them there.... The plane prices apear to be what QQ aircraft has sold them for...and the Covering scheme on some of the designs are well, YET TO BE DESIRED.... but none the less.... THese are improved QQ planes....They have been modded and tweeked to ply better...or soo it seems I was quite happy to see that this company worked with qq aircraft company and designed and redesigned these planes.... http://www.hiflymodels.com/product-2d.asp?tid1=2&rid=212
You guys may already know this, but Hi-Fly Models used to fabricate all of QQ's planes for him. When QuiQue closed his business and went to work for Hanger 9, Hi-Fly picked up the line and has been manufacturing and selling them under the Hi-Fly name ever since. Presently we are the only dealer in the US authorized to sell the Hi-Fly brand of planes. We can provide ANY of the planes manufactured by Hi-Fly. We list a few of them on our website http://www.swrcengines.com, but any plane on the Hi-Fly website can be obtained easily through Southwest RC Engines. I might also add that we can obtain replacement parts for all the QQ planes.
ORIGINAL: seagull extra What is the crankshaft dia. and what is the size and pitch of the crankshaft thread? I need to know this to order a crankshaft nut adp. for the spinner. Thanx. A spinner adapter nut is not necessary unless, for some reason, you want to use one.
ORIGINAL: BBBlue Just checked the link u gave Steiny . Dont know about the others but the 73'' Yak looks definately identical to the one I have. Everything from woodwork to hardware , wing mounting system etc. everything apart from the tailwheel assy & paintwork... Checking with the European dealers even the price region is very similar to the one mine had when it was available. Hmmm there's something fishy up' here...
There's nothing fishy about this at all! The people at Hi-Fly built QQ's planes for him. When his partner retired and QQ went to work for Hanger 9, Hi-Fly picked up the line. The designs may look identical to the QQ planes but there have been some minor improvements in the design, thus giving a stronger, lighter plane. However, all the replacement parts, such as cowls, canopy, wings, etc will fit the original QQ planes, making Hi-Fly an excellent source for replacement parts. We, at Southwest RC Engines located in Tyler, Texas, are presently the only authorized dealer in the US for Hi-Fly Models. We can deliver any Hi-Fly arf or part within 5 to 7 days to your address. MT-80's HAVE ARRIVED!
We received a shipment of MT-80’s last week, and have test run two of them this weekend. They are beautifully crafted engines and feature the CNC crankcase and connecting rods typical of MT engines. We ran two engines for a total of 12 – 13 minutes each under the following conditions: Temp.: 88 deg F Relative Humidity: 74% Barometric Pressure 29.95 mercury Engine timing: 25 deg BTC Fuel: 93 octane 40:1 with Pennzoil Air-Cooled First runs out of the box were with a Zoar 26x10 prop and a MT-C65 canister muffler and flex header. The canister and flex header is designed for the MT-57 and we knew it was too small, but it was all we had at the time. After approximately 4 minutes run time we obtained 5,000 rpm. Switched to a Wild Hare 26B Bunny Prop (progressive pitch) and obtained 5,550 rpm after about 11 min run time. Removed canister after 12 minutes run time and obtained 5,730 rpm, exhausting through an MT-57 flex header. We feel that the engine was being choked down with the C-65 Canister (65mm diameter) and also with the MT-57 flex header. We expect this engine to have the same characteristics of our MT-57 that has increased in performance as break-in progressed. After about an hour run time on our MT-57, it is now a very strong performer. We now have on order a MTW TD-110 canister, which is a popular choice for 80 cc class engines. We feel we should get better and more typical results from the MTD exhaust system. Results will be posted as they become available. Joe Southwest RC Engines http://swrcengines.com

RE: programming 4 aileron servos on 9303
ORIGINAL: topfuel7 I have a 33% extra with 2 servos on each aileron 1 on each elevator half and 2 on the rudder. My question is how do you mate all the servos and still have the trim. I haven't even got to the rudder and elevator yet but I thought it was gonna be simple because I used mix3 and mix4 and was able to get the wings servos to center perfectly together and full deflect perfectly with the subtrim but I had no trim on the mated servos. I have turned on or off everything I can find on the radio with no luck. Anyone have a run down of how to do this without using matchboxes on everything. I read where it is possible but I haven't figured it out yet I have right side wing in Aile and Aux3 and the left side in Aux1 and Aux4 on a 9100 and 9303 radio. Any help on what channels everything should go in would be appreciated.
Let me clarify my previous post: My servo setup is exactly the same as that posted by Topfuel7. However, upon re-reading his thread, it appears he is attempting to use a separate Rx channel for each servo (in the wing). My method differs in that the two servos in each wing are Y-harnessed together and then plugged into one Rx channel. The two servos must be mechanically set so that they track together. I also used a Hitec servo programmer to center the servos in each wing. My method might work for four servos, but the 9303 doesn't have enough channels (for my purposes) to do this. My elevators are split with one servo on each. My rudder is a push-pull/push-pull arrangement with two servos mounted in the tail, one on each side of the rudder.

RE: programming 4 aileron servos on 9303
Contrary to popular opinion, the 9303 CAN be programmed to trim all surfaces. See my string of posts of around September 23, 2008 under the forum RC Radios, Transmitters, Receivers, Servos, Gyros and the suptopic " JR X9303 Trim Following. I posted the original thread with a problem, but received no solutions, so, in despiration, I solved the problem my self. It's not a very long series of threads and fairly easy to follow, but in a nutshell here is the procedure I used: 1. Opened System Select menu and inhibited all switches. 2. Opened Wing Type menu and selected "Flaperon" 3. Selected "Mate" for Elevator and used "AUX2" 3. Selected "Mate" for Rudder and used "AUX3" 4. Opened System Select menu again and activated "GEAR" and "AUX4" 5. Selected the MIX switch to operate AUX4 and Gear switch to operate GEAR. Could have used any available switch. 6. None of the P-Mix options are active, however they are available. 7. Checked servo movement and trim response on MONITOR 8. Checked servo mevement and trim response on aircraft. 9. I don't know if this is the "JR Approved" method for doing this, but it works for me. I have this system working on a 40% Carden Extra and a H9 Sukhoi SU-31 and have full trim following on all surfaces, ailerons, elevators and rudder. It has worked flawlessly for me and I hope this may help someone else. Hose A. [:D]
