RE: Never buy a saturn ION
ORIGINAL: iamnot hey drifter, just curious how did the money shake out did you have to take a loss on the ion? or did you manage to come close to breaking even?
we almost broke even but to get rid of the headaches and dealing with saturn it was worth it. we now are proud new owners of a 08 mazda 3 and this does have traction control. i just hope other people dont have to go thru what i went thru. hope other have learned from my mistakes

RE: Never buy a saturn ION
ORIGINAL: comerford2@msn.com I was a saturn tech for some time and your problem sounds like normal traction control stuff. Now with the other thing I would be pissed and tell them to buy my car back and or give me a new car. Saturn is all about service and I would call saturn and tell them all the stuff that happened to the car and we don't feel safe and the car had water damage. Water damage is the worst thing to happen to a car. you might not see a problem from water damage for years after it flooded. also they did a lot of dumb things 1st never tell a customer the car is unsafe without being check by the tech first. 2nd you are not allowed to take a customer car home without the permission of the owner (it's like stealing). You have a court case if you wunt to fight them you should contact a lawyer. almost 99% of the time the dealer will loose a case if it has merit and you do. One more thing the service writer shoud never road test a car it should be a tech because we are the ones with the training. I know if it was my old dealer we would be kissing your but hoping you don't sue us and giving you at least (1) extending your warranty free of charge (2) lots and lots of free oil changes. we have bought cars back before for stuff that was just stupid. If you get saturn involved the dealer will get a spanking.
the car did not have traction control trust me on that one. ive had other techs look up the vin and it has no traction control unit under the hood. trust me i had tried everything and saturn or saturn corp didnt do a thing for a while. i learned that i wont buy another saturn ever again.

RE: Never buy a saturn ION
***Update*** well after 2 almost 3 months of fighting with saturn corp i am getting 3100 back of the 6000 we put into the car and we have since bought a brand new mazda 3. this car has traction control and drive so much better. so my saturn ion is gone and the mazda 3 is in and i couldnt be happier. mazda has already done more for us then saturn ever did so i am glad. it was a tough and a battle to the end with saturn but they finally gave in. hope other people dont have to deal with what i went thru with a saturn

RE: Dog proofing an RC car?
ORIGINAL: zeen420 How about don't let them chase it at all from the start.. Very known that if you let them do it once, they will do it again without Your command.. Just basic dog training.... Like don't drop a duce on the floor.. :)
not true im a dog trainer and my dogs listen to what i say not what they want to do. dogs are pack animals and listen to the alpha of the pack. if i want my dogs to chase the car i let them if i dont want them to i tell them not to. same thing when i teach them to bite on comand. my dogs are security trained but they just dont go around biting people. if your a strong leader and teach your dogs they will listen. i dont get my dogs treats to listen or make them do things. dogs want leadership and a job. dogs are breed for jobs and my dogs jobs are listening to me. if you balance your dogs and give them what there breed requires you will no problem teaching a dog. if you want something to put on the car to make them not like it some use a product called bitter apple but not all dogs dislike it some love it.

RE: HPI E-10 vs. HPI RTR Sprint 2 Sport
ok your going to have to take your car apart to do the rear diff mod but you have to take it apart to change the belt anyways. basiclly take a dremel and cut along the lines showed in the picture. that allows most stuff to pass thru without getting stuck. its a simple mod that helped me out alot. ive had the car for a year and onli had to change one rear belt and that was before i did the mod. im still on my original front belt

RE: spin to pull
i use both and find both have there ups and downs. when your pull start breaks thats a pain and ends the day b/c most dont have a spare pullstart on hand. as far as batts dying in the roto start i have no issues with that. how many times are you guys starting your trucks? i use a duratrax 3600 batt for my rotostart and have no batts dying on me. when i go out with my rotostart or easy start i have a back pack i use to carry fuel, glow ignitor, spare AA and rotostart. so to me i dont mind carrying the rotostart b/c i carry the fuel and other things in there. this also helps when i want to go run deep in wooded areas and not have to go back to get something if i need it

RE: Dog proofing an RC car?
i have 2 dogs ones a jack russel/Fox terrier/Pit mix and the other is a sheperd mix. my jack russel mix will chase my nitros all day long but they are to fast for him to catch and wears him out really quickly. my sheperd mix doesnt bother with them at all and just sits with me and watchs. if your going to have your dogs chase your r/c one make sure the car is faster than the dog and 2 dont let them chase then on pavement or roads b/c it will tear up there pads really quickly. personally if either one of my dogs tried to bite a nitro i wouldnt let them near them b/c i dont want them to get hurt let alone destroy a r/c.

the sprint2 is a great car and just mod the rear diff and you wont have problems chewing belts. i have both and like the sprint2 better. it handles better and has a smoother feel to it. here are some pics
