RE: Dedicated Cessna 182
I must apologize for I assumed any attempt at making this work would follow the scale placement. I would mount the wheel aft of the step, for sure. I`m still interested in hearing success stories! I will post pics for sure!

RE: Dedicated Cessna 182
That is a great idea and one I contemplated but I am stuck with this crazy notion that everything has to be scale [:@] Making the rear wheels removable with a hatch that covers the well may be the best option!

RE: Dedicated Cessna 182
Thanks for the reply, this is what I'm scared of. I can't say I would attempt to take off or land with the front wheels on too without having them retractable.

Dedicated Cessna 182
I'm sure this has been discussed in detail already but my searches have yielded little help. I have become quite fond of float flying thanks to an Ace Seamaster and then a Kadet LT-40 on floats. My current project that I am building is for float flying but I love the idea of having it take off from the runway as well, with floats. I am building a Picca Cessna 182. I would like to install main wheels inside the floats and on the tips. I'm not going to go overboard within the build. I am hoping to simply mount the rear wheels permanently and have the front wheels removeable for water. My question is, will the rear wheels be the cause of trouble if left unretracted for water landings? Any input for this project will be extremely appreciated. I am currently only pulling the die cut parts and planning to decrease major weight! Holy heavy thick balsa guys [X(] Thanks

I just purchased a beautiful old kit of the Pica 1/6 scale 182 Cessna. I don't suppose someone would have the construction manual for it ? Thanks

RE: DA Engines-Now this is Service!
I was considering the purchase of a new DA85; I spoke with Jeff at DA and I received an email from him, due to his replies and DA's positive consistent customer service shared over the internet, I decided to purchase the 85. I'm looking forward to receiving the 85 and I'm confident that the support will be there if I need it. This thread helps confirm it!

Sorry to hear you're having issues; I thought Tomy was a stand up guy but he has not been around at all lately! If you bought your engine from the US then the US dealer should fix it. It would be fair if he paid shipping back, wasn't your fault! As for my MT57, it has been running strong for the second season in a row, it remains very consistent and reliable! I hope you fair well.

MT 57 engine here as well, mine is running very well. All the DL engines I have been around run well but definitely less power. I have one of the original engines timed at 27 degrees on my Extreme Flight Yak, I enjoy it!

RE: *Airtronics RD8000 2.4 GHz*
This past weekend I qualified at a US Scale Masters Qualifier using my RDS8000 and two receivers. I was flying a Fokker D8 with one receiver, battery, switch and charge jack in the fuselage and one receiver, battery, switch and charge jack in the wing. Both receivers binded to the TX without issue and remained stable. I ran this way so I wouldn't have wires running up the struts to the wing. If I could afford it I would like to get the new 10 channel before I travel to Washington in September to compete because the only issue I had with the Fokker was no expo on the rudder! I really enjoyed flying with the RDS8000 and many talked about my setup all weekend! No issues, low voltage consumption, great range, great experience! Thanks

RE: First time with Dope
I used Glenn Torence's Lozenge Fabric. My choice of Butyrate Dope for the WW1 Fokker D8 was the flat coat and it does say low shrink! It has tightened up some since posting this but I would like to see it tighten up more!

First time with Dope
I sure like fiberglass and finishing Epoxy..... I thought I was doing well; 3 coats of SIG Nitrate dope, 1st coat thinned 50/50 subsequent 25/75 and my open bays felt good. 1 week later I am applying Butyrate Dope and I notice my open areas are sagging. Perhaps too heavy of a brush. I continue on but 3 hours later, sitting in the hot sun, my now finished stab is still loose! Do I have any options?

RE: 2.4 problems
It is important to review the binding instructions in your Spread Spectrum radio manual. When you first get your radio you must bind your receiver. In particular it is important with SPEKTRUM receivers that the binding plug be inserted into the radio receiver battery port or with the new version receivers, into the BATT/DATA port. You will then plug your power source into any unused port on the receiver. The alternate way is to use the manufacturer’s supplied switch/charge receptacle switch assembly. Binding must first be done when you first setup your model with a new Spread Spectrum receiver. It is perhaps even more important that you rebind again after you have set-up your plane and before your first flight. This will ensure the fail-safe settings bring the throttle to idle. Depending on your manufacturers’ model of radio, it may also enable the fail-safe controls to go to neutral and or the last commanded position in the event of a loss of signal. Any time you get into a menu, i.e.. to adjust end points, exponential, mixes, sub trims, you must rebind the receiver. Merely using the trim buttons in a normal fashion has no effect on binding. Please check and review your manual on this important item. This is being circulated up here in Canada, unknown glitching, unexplained issues etc.......

RE: Futaba Service Advisory
It's still relevant and its good to resurface it. There are many used systems and you re-posting it may be golden if it helps one. I see no lack of receivers unless you need/ want a cheap RX for a full range park flyer but I believe they have that covered as well now!

RE: *Airtronics RD8000 2.4 GHz*
End point on mine is the same as well, he must be mistaken that he has independent EPA on 2 and 6. Channel 2 controls both, P-F is just flaps! With a proper mechanical setup one should not need independent EP adjustments. There is however 1 or 2 ways to cheat if it's absolutely needed.

It has nothing to do with heat LOL It is a known issue that happens to a few radios. Others have reported very fast turn around times for this to be fixed.
