RE: NEW QQ BEAST BIPE Announced
I hope Horizon will consider a color scheme that does not include black which is sometimes a problem in warm weather. I would also prefer a one piece cowling.

Question for Yakers
I have a nose heavy QQ Python. Like a Yak, it has a big round cowl. My prop clears the outside most forward part of the cowl by almost an inch. Remounting the engine 1/2" back would go a long way toward getting the CG where I want it. One of my buds sez moving the prop closer to the cowl will make the prop less effecient. I sez a tractor prop will pull just as well no matter how close to the cowl. So who buys the six pack?

RE: starting DA100 without choke?
Yes I can apalsson, never seen it done but why not? Thanks guys! Is there any reason not to remove the arm with the big hole attached to the choke shaft with a philips head bolt? Don't people replace it with a nylon nose gear tiller arm, etc.?

starting DA100 without choke?
Hi guys, I've installed my DA100 in a Somenizi Pitts Python that has no opening on the lower cowl. The only access for remote actuation of the choke is from the rear. Looks pretty unlikely given the position of the Walbro choke arms want to be operated up and down. All my previous installations had a large opening on the cowl bottom for muffler exhausts and cooling and I could reach the choke lever through this opening. This plane uses cannisters though. Do you think the full throttle closed (engine cut off) position of the butterfly throttle plate will choke the engine adequatly to start it? Chris in Miami, FL

Fuel tank pickup line
Hi guys, I'm replumbing a Du-Bro 32 oz. gas tank while it's between planes. I notice the blue Aerotrend gas tubing on the pick up line is pretty stiff after only one season. Something I've wondered about for awhile but never slowed down to ask is: which gas tubing stays flexible the longest time inside a fuel tank? Chris in Miami

RE: GreatPlanes Cap 21
It had a high aspect ratio wing that tended to tip stall at much higher than expected airspeeds i.e. the pullout from a loop. Mine went deadstick during a spin, it's last manuver. My opinion is no, get something more modern.

RE: Kimball-Somenzini Python Build Thread
Hi guys, Since my older BME102 is running better than it ever has and it's current mount flys well but is not the thrill it once was I'm gonna pull it out and try it in my Python. It's lighter than a DA100 and probably shakes less than a DA85 so why not? Also in the 35% Carden CAP232 the BME is coming out of are six DS8411s. 188 oz./in. @ 6V. Do you all think these are not enough for the Python? The area of the CAP's ailerons are 133 sq. in. (one DS8411@ has been fine) compared to 150 sq. in. ailerons on the Python. I'm willing to pony up for more powerful servos but it seems like a waste. BTW the CAP is for sale http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=489663 but if it doesn't sell soon the engine and radio's moving in to the Python [:D]

10C prog mix for 2 rudder servos
From the program mix menu mix 1 I am trying to mix channel 4 to channel 5 for two rudder servos. It's not working. I cannot get rid of the offset. Also switch E continues to operate the second rudder servo on channel 5.

RE: Futaba 10C Official Thread: Press release inside!
Mike, Before getting carried away with buying more 6014 Rxs read this thread [link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7908536/tm.htm[/link] Here is the Futaba "fix" for thermal bind failure [link]http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/tm14-manual.pdf[/link] I also used the 64K CAMPAC from my 9Z. The 10C is now installed in a beater test bed ready for flight test. Man after all the struggles programing the 9Z the 10C was a pleasure to work with. Programing so simple even a JR user could do it.

RE: Jr MatchBox
"JR's new MatchBox is an ideal solution to the "matching dilemma," allowing modelers to match servos with precision and flexibility never before possible. Housed in a case about the size of an R610M micro receiver, the MatchBox plugs into any channel of a receiver that is driving more than one servo. Up to four servos can then be plugged into it and independently adjusted, using a simple selector dial and Increase/Decrease buttons on the MatchBox unit itself." from [link]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRPA900[/link]

RE: HELP My new 34% Extra 300 SUCKS
That's why I use the H9 amp meter for making electronic and/or mechanical adjusments when installing the ganged linkages to optmize for the least binding throughout their travel. What I keep wondering about is the LOW (2mOhm for redundant flight packs@4mOhm per battery) internal impedance of the two Sanyo HR-1950 FAUP five cell NiMH batteries. The advantage is a more constant voltage during periods of high current demands. Got two large 9152s and a coupla 8411s going on here. Maybe there's a price to pay in flight time to be spluting that many ma I don't know HOW much during IMAC stuff. I have an old NiMH specific fast charger I'll use next time I fly after two flights. It shows in mah how much the pack was recharged. I'd replace with 2700 Series Sanyo 'A' Receiver packs with higher (20 mOhm, or an acceptable 10 mOhm when used redundantly) internal resistance but "The Military has reserved all production and available inventory on these cells... as of 05/05/08 none are currently available". Hoorah.

RE: HELP My new 34% Extra 300 SUCKS
Yes RCpilot I give NiMH packs a 20 hour "formation" charge and several normal Alpha 4 cycles prior to flying them. These packs have the lowest internal impedance of any NiMH batteries I've ever used.
