The motor is a 4.5t 4000kv. The car is a scte, and most people run a 15t pinion as far as i know. Even with the 15t, i would like it to be faster !

RE: Xerun 150A or Xerun SCT-Pro 120A for SCTE
esc is around 125F (but it has a built-in fan... ) motor around 185F (now that i added the Integy dual cooling fans it stays around 130F) i would like to be able to run without fans... i feel like fans only hide problems insted of fixing the problem.

im running the sct-pro 120a with a 4000kv motor and it runs fire, but runs hot... might be my pinion ? (15t)

RE: Brushless Losi XXL?
ORIGINAL: cumquat i'm guessing that you mean when you pull the trigger slowly, the car doesn't move then all the sudden it takes off. that's completely normal and as far as i know has nothing to do with the esc, that's just how the motor works. if it's already moving, does it seem to jitter or twitch? if that's what's happening then you're experiencing the phenomenon known as cogging. that means the motor is geared too high.
it is normal, and it is called cogging. also, the motor is perfect with a 24t pinion. its doing this because its a sensor-less motor.

RE: lipo cell Voltage difference.
ORIGINAL: phmaximus
ORIGINAL: The_Shark so, i had a low capacity 3cell lipo, brand new, tested the voltage, perfectly balanced around 11.2 volts, I let it sit for a half a year, I finally wire it up to use and find out two cells are perfectly balanced, the third cell is flat 0. nice.[&o]
Sometimes that can be caused by a problem with the ballance plug or leads. if u charger was saying say c1 3.90v c2 3.91v c3 0.00v but the total battery voltage is 11.71v then the cell is fine just the ballance lead has failed... Hope this helps someone
happened to me last week, a wire was cut on the balance plug.

i only have the small brown wire in the same spot as an orange wire. all other wires are alone in there spots. does my brown wire needs to be with the SAME orange wire it was on the connector ? because i didnt labeled them before i cutted the connectors off. so its paired with any orange wire i found...

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
yes for the sense wire with the 5v, all grounds are the same, so i can rule this out. i will remove the board from the case and try to follow the traces, but even if i find that there is 1,2 or 3 rails, it should not matter to why it can't keep its voltage under load ?

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
bgossellin, wow thanks for the precise explanation. this make sense but the PS should still be enough... here is a couple pics i took tonight. the 3 yellow wires, were actually 3 ''bundles'' but to make things easier i de-soldered all 3 and re-soldered 1 single bigger guage wire. i used the small brown, with one orange for the ''stay on'' but i took any orange, is it supposed to be one in particular ? andrew, im pluged in 110v main supply. no acces to 220v. i bought this PS to allow me to charge at a faster rate lol, i dont really want to drop to 1c. look at my pictures to see the info your looking for (not sure what you want) thanks again for helping me out, this is driving me crazy...

im charging 5s and 6s 5000mah packs at 7amps. i know its not 1c but i dont care if the packs does not last as long since they are cheap to buy. i tought that i was only pulling 7amps, why is it more because of a 5s pack ? anyway, like you said, the ps should handle it...

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
im charging at 7amps, and i use my DMM when charging and it starts at around 12,5v and as soon as the charging starts i see the voltage dropping about 1v per second... when at around 10.5v the charger says ''input voltage error'' and stops.

on the box, it says 2 12v outputs. on the circuit board, i have 3 groups of yellow wire, labeled 12vA, 12vB, 12vC. i use all of them together. there is 2 big silver heatsinks.

i tried puttin 3 resistor (10ohm 10watt) and they got pretty hot, but the voltage still drops and make the charger stop... any other clues ? is it possible that my power supply is not capable of keeping the voltage stable ? its weird because its a good brand ps..

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
i just finished my second psu from a pc power supply. the first one i did, was a 300w cheap power supply, worked good on my lipo charger but wanted something better so i sold it to buy a new one. the new one is a thermaltake 500w power supply. i wired it just like the old one, but as soon as the charger starts charging the voltage drops to about 10v and the charger shuts off. what can i do to make the 12v steady ? thanks Anthony

RE: Aftershock wheel nust????
ORIGINAL: 1QwkSport2.5r Its not as common on RC models, but you'd be really surprised how many commercial trucks (Semi's and dock trucks alike) have reversed wheel lug nuts. Around here, I see several trucks with little plastic arrow dealies that get placed behind the lugnuts to signify which direction they tighten.
worked for a couple years doing tire service for car/truck, semi, heavy equipment and worked with all kinds of wheels but i dont remember seeing reverse thread nut. and the plastic arrows are there to let the driver know if a nut is loosening by itself.

the losi kit is crap, but The Dude parts are expensive. i made my own motor mount with a 3$ 1/4'' alum angle, and a 20$ Rc-Monster battery tray. (you will also need the simple speed hud from losi about 20$)

RE: Losi XXL. Skid plates + brakes, how to replace?
don't cut a bigger hole, simply turn your pipe sideways. the skid is the same for the lst2 and the xxl, the skid rubs the pipe on all of them.

RE: Backwheels dont spin, any suggestions??
you will be at your LHS for your drive cup, just buy a bottle of diff fluid(5$). take one between 10wt and 40wt. your preference, the more the number is high, the more it will ''lock'' your diff. the more the number is high, the more chance you have to break another cup... personnally, i run 30wt. frton and rear.

RE: Losi XXL. Skid plates + brakes, how to replace?
ORIGINAL: Vinno Hey guys, Im thinking I buying the losi hd front, center an rear  skid plates. Few questions for those oft hat use it. 1) what screws do you use to mount them and do they go over the top of the stock ones? Any modifications needed? stock screws, it replaces the stock skid plates. 2) do the hd protect the underparts of the xxl well? i bit more, specially the steering servos. A) With the brakes linkage on the servo, what's the job of that spring? And how do you guys have yours? Should the brake spring be compressed when servo is at neutral or is spring uncompressed and has bit of a gap? If any of you'd have pic to show, would help a ton. spring is for smooth braking, i replaced it with a peice of fuel line, i prefer the feel. should be no tension on the spring/fuel line at neutral. there is a fuel line mod to put on the rod that prevents binding, search for it. My brake travel is set at 40% on the controller at the moment to get a nice breaking. sounds good, adjust to your preferances. B) I notice the metal brakes a hit miss, sometimes it sounds like it binds, read somewhere on here people changing it to fiber ones for consistent smooth breaking. Any one which fiber brakes you can replace the metal ones with? Does this job require dismantling the whole front section to take the shaft out of the existing ones? Any tips? fuel line mod to prevent binding. remove front differential to remove brake disks. 4 screws on the bulkhead plate, then slide diff retainers(2) then slide diff towards front.
i hope it helps a little !

with arms vertical, you wont got very far ! [;)] put them parralel to the ground but you would be better with a muggy for a truggy style.
