RE: battle subs
the plane belongs to geoff reichelt. he lives in australia and has built many models of this short sunderland mk3 the model in the picture is 1:10 scale. also if u look in the second pic the depth charge rippied off one of the elevators. the plane landed fine. geoff emailed me and told me how to make the depth charges. i cant remember how right now but i know it wasnt too dificult

RE: ultra stick 40 engine choice
the nose heavy part is right. i had one with a 46.fx i had to put a lead on the tail and clay behind the receiver. and then it was an awsome plane. i crashed it into a tree during the summer. and a fellow club member told me it could be repair. this guy is a true craftsman. i gave him the plane 3 days ago and all it needs is to have half the fuse covered. wow. Im gonna put a 61 fx his time. i also wanna put it on floats

Retracts for GSP Zero?
Hi I just wanted to know if anyone had the measurments for the holes in the wing where the retracts go? I just wanted to know because i want to call spring air and see if they can make me a gear for this bird. I know that CJ makes a set but that would be a last resort and everyone knows why. I kow that the gear mounting space in 20mm wide. i need to know the distance from the center of the wheel well to where the gear shaft wold reach the actual retract. also how thick the gear should be. all in all i need to know all the possible specs im going to need when im trying to explain the gear i need. thanks.

RE: Question. Changing materials when enlarging plans?
well dick what do you think of this approach? ok to enlarge plans you need to enlarge them by a certain percentage correct? well what if i increase the size of the wood by the same percentage that i used to enlarge the plans. for example: lets say i enlarged the plans by 5.5% ok then i take the 3/32 ply from the 1/12 scale model and increase the size of wood by 5.5% then the answer i get from that i round it to the nearest size wood and use that size wood instead of the 3/32 ply for example. what do you think? thanks this of course would be for high stress parts.

Question. Changing materials when enlarging plans?
Hi I was just wondering. Im am in the process of considering what to do. I baught plans to build a 1/10 scale short sunderland mk3 from nexus direct in england. but after i baught them i found out that the plan is full of faults and that i would have to modify pieces to make them fit right. thats a headache i dont need. lol. ok i also saw that palmer plans has plans to build a 1/12 scale sunderland. ok the question is this. i want to build a 1/10 scale sunderland. the 1/12 scale sunderland has a wing span of 112 inches and the 1/10 sunderland has a wing span of 134 inches. now the question is this. if i enlarge the plans, which is what i plan to do if i buy the palmer plans, do i have to change the materials. for example if the plans on the 1/12 call for 3/32 ply do i need to change that for the 1/10 scale model? the materials would grow in size. wouldnt that make up in strength? thanks. i really need help because if i had to get different size wood to make a slightly larger model that would be a pain in the @$$! lol thanks for the help I want to thank Geoff Reichelt in Australia for this picture of the Sunderland (1/10 scale complete) I also want to thank Phil for these pictures of the Sunderland (1/10 scale in construction) Both pictures are of sunderlands from Jan Hermkens plans. The ones i have with faults in them :(

RE: Waterproof servo ?
they make this product called "the stuph" works really great makes it water proof. also they have this solution that is like paint i dunno what its called but it turns into like rubber and seals the servo. they had "the stuph" a few years back at the WRAM show in weschester ny and they had a servo treated with "the stuff" actually working under water in a fish tank so i guess it works[:D]

RE: .15 for a pbf?
hey boogie what were the specs on ur pbf? 20x20 how much for elevons, size of rudder, ect? the servo im using are hs-55 feather for throttle and megatech servos which give same torque as hs-81's almost i have used them and there pretty good. so im using three of those. gws pico receicer and a light battery pack. i wonder. did u make a smaller spine because of the smaller size? what im trying to say did u make it thinner in any way? i was just wondering. thanks guys. ohh yeah boogie what size prop did u use? like a 8x4? thanks and were was ur cg?

.15 for a pbf?
I have had two pbf with a .40 la in both of them. ive had fun with both but even a pbf can take soo much lol. 100ft dead stick into cement isnt too pretty lol. ok so i wanna build another one because my club is going to have a funfly and i wanna fly one there. i have a pico gws receiver, .15 tt engine, i made a tint battery pack. real tiny. and i wanted to know if this setup would work on a standard 24x24 pbf. is there a different size one for that engine? i dont want the problems other guys are having with there tiny pbf's. remember its gonna be light so what do u guys think? hit me.[:D]

Clunk Question
Ok the way i was taught was. that the clunk stayed at the back of the tank. and moved up and down if the plane was upside down or right side up. ok one of the guys at the club say. that it has to move to the front too to get fuel in the engine in a dive. im like no capilary action will leave the fuel in the back of a tank in a dive. the helie guys have the clunk going to the front but when ur in a hover i dont think there any gees on the tank forcing the fuel to one side. ohh well. what do u guys think? thanks.
