RE: Dual LiFe Packs Question
Thanks for the information John, I appreceiate it. I will order some of these diodes for my A123 receiver Packs. I remember taking apart the Black and Decker 1100mAh packs and they too had a diode in the pack bewtween the cells, I immagine for the same reasons. Thanks again....Brian

Hi John, Do you put a diode in series with the plus side of the battery lead? Maybe a 1N4004 1 amp diode? Thanks for your time...Brian

RE: Stepping down the voltage of a 24v power supply
Hi EloyM, When I asked the opening question i was thinking about the Mean Well 1000W, 24v power supply I bought. Considering my 2 year warranty I'll refrain from opening it but it sounds like it might be worth checking into down the road. I have purchased a couple of the HP 575W Watt Power Supply DPS-600PB to provide the 12 volts I need for a couple of my chargers. Thanks...Brian

RE: Kadet Senior available at Nitroplanes
I have decided that I will strip the covering off any ARF I buy to reglue joints and beefup any weak spots. I have lost one too many airplanes due to poor assembly and glueing techniques. There is nothing worse than the sick feeling when a wing folds or a surface rips off, and your airplane impacts the ground! I have 14 ARFs I have purchased new in the box over the last 10 years during many surgeries and recovery periods. All of them are pretty to look at, and I hate to have to recover them, but that is the only way I will feel safe that I have a sound airframe. Also many of them I plan to put a gass engine in them, so I will need to beefup the fuse anyway. I think if I stick to my plan, all will turn out good. ....Brian

RE: Engine size for Lazy Bee
I have built 4 of the 40 inch Lazy Bees and wore them all out! I am building my 5th one now and it will be powered by a Magnum 15 double ball bearing engine as all of the previous have been. The Magnum 15 when tuned right will scream on this small aircraft which makes it a hoot to fly. The best fun flying plane I have ever owned. The carb on the Magnum has a very course needle valve and is touchy to hit the sweet spot. Once you hit it will scream...Brian

RE: metal gear servos vs karbanite.
I asked Hitec in an email about using karbonite gear servos and their answer is below....Brian Hi Brian, Billy is out of the office so I am answering emails for him. We do not suggest using the Karbonite servos in gas planes because of the extreme vibration from the engine. Though Karbonite is 3 times stronger that nylon, they are also more rigid. This causes them to break rather than bend under heavy vibration. Regards, Tony Ohm Hitec /Multiplex USA 12115 Paine St Poway, CA 92040 858.748.8440
