Check out the SOE Gear micro 12 gauge micro rig, just ordered one last week. Very high quality gear. Not cheap but once in a lifetime type of purchase for me as I don't plan on any more contract work.

I would buy one in a second, heck I would take one in 5.56, they were going to produce them in the 90s but never got the money to transition. A seperate company is making 5.56 vzs for Canada but nothing for the US.

I agree with Foxy, pretty laid back for street driving but at the dragstrip or racetrack I am up on the wheel as much as possible, at 6'3" thats usually about half way back and only a slight incline to the seat.

RE: Where to live?
I woulda though a guy with your money would allready have a place in NY and LA[:D] I agree on the colorado thing, south west 4 corners area would allow you to live in a milder climate, down far enough is kinda desert just like your used to, They got great gun laws in CO, if you got the money and can fill out some 3rd grader paperwork you can get "anythin juy wannnt" Lots of critters walking flying and swimmin to hurt trap or kill, 10,000 miles of off road trails for just getting out there into it. Durango is a major city but I can't speak to there employment outlook, its right there so even woking in New Mexico, Arizona or Utah may be an option for the wife depending on where you are in relation to the corner.

RE: Store receipt checks - who else hates them?
Walmart usually don't mess with me, maybe because I dress better than 70% of the shoppers at my local store, at Sam's it always strikes me as funny as they will come over and look at the list and put their mark on it even though they only looked for 15 seconds, when I got like 5 things it might be legit but when we are gearing up for a bbq comp we got multiple piles of meat, beans, corn, assorted sugar, condements and spices piled two feet tall in a stack on one of them flat carts yet it still only takes 15 seconds to check my receipt LOL.

RE: Oh yeah, 86,000 M1 Garands are being imported for sale inside the US
there are still over 3.5 million Korean war vets living in the US so more than likely you'll be lucky to get one, at $220 they should be worth it but as mentioned the last korean batch was pretty shabby, to bad CMP ain't gonna be involved so they would at least be graded and priced according to condtion. The cheapest barrel you will find for an M1 new is $175 with the more desireable military contour and heavy barell versions over $400, a stock and handgaurd will run you a $60 and up with nice pieces in the $400 range. Unless you are a heck of a gunsmith you would probably have to hire out the rebuild and reblueing which depending on who you are and where you live could be another $200-500. The CMP specials with new barrel and new stock all pretty looking run $995, save up and save some headache, just my .02

point blank range has been hijacked as a forensic term, in most modern contexts it is intended to be under 3 meters. Its kinda like BBQ, so many idiots misused it you would never be able to educate the general public back to the correct usage. "people not from the south, thinks bbq means cookout, but thats something their wrong about, bbq is not a noun, bbq is not a verb, bbq is meat prepaired in a very special way which varies by where you go"

RE: shootin talk
While knowing the correct nomenclature is good for the average soldier its not a due or die situation, Springfiled went to interchangable parts in the 1850's so unless your fighting a war from a long long time ago parts are readily available in the field, during battle guys often "loose" the rifle that was issued to them and pick up another. My buddy came home from Iraq and went to turn in his 249 and found out he didn't have the one he was issued, apparently it had been switched at a visit to the armorer or been switched up with another member of his platoon along the way. The 855 round is all that is keeping the 5.56 caliber viable, I have heard the army is looking for a new squad assult weapon, probably in 7.62 x 51 and magazine fed, sounds like someone needs to modernize the BAR a bit lol. There was a 1937 Springfield BAR at an auction I went to a couple weeks ago, bid went to 22K and it didn't sell, reserve was 25K, the seller was very disapointed and pulled a 1918 COLT BAR from the auction, the rumor is reserve on it was $200k as the colts were the rarest of the ww1 production. Last I knew Colt held the patent but will license it. I think it was Ohio Ordinance Works that did some semi auto only ones a while back.

I agree, 350 grains is a small cannon load, As far as I was always told pyrodex isn't usually measured in grains, its a "volume substitute", its lighter by mass then black powder and if you try to measure in grains you end up with about a 25% overload situation

RE: need info on DF-02 chassis.
yep 101 is no bec either, with a 15 turn brushed your gonna wanna get the 16 tooth pinion and keep to the buggy tires, 1116 is the robinson racing part number, 1117 for 17 etc, 3.80 each at tower, you will need these as these cars take a metric .6 mod pinion. I pushed my luck down to 10 turns brushed but you just can't gear these cars low enough for hot brushed motors, your better off with a mild brushless system, more power, runs cooler, last longer, I had some 12 turn brushed motors that got hot enough to unsoldier the motor leads LOL. If for any reason you end up with a 5mm shaft brushless motor T Rex 550 helicoptor pinions are the same .6 mod, mine came from Align if I remember right.

RE: need info on DF-02 chassis.
I would update the center shaft for any brushless, only $7 for a genuine tamiya aluminum driveshaft, the cvds are a good upgrade but would not be required for a low power brushless system IMO. The best part about the DF 02 is the cheap parts, $6 for a chassis and $5 for most parts trees if you know where to get them. The weak point of the chassis is the front shock tower, carbon fibre of aluminum is available for $10-20 though. The chassis tends to break where the arms mount on if you hit alot of solid objects, you can either make homemade hinge pin braces or use some metal rod to make longer U pins(U pins hold the arms on for this model) Many details can be found in the Monster XX thread(target clone monster truck) here at RCU, I put up a list with most of the option parts that are available, also there are numerous threads under Rising Storm, Gravel Hound and Plasma Edge here at RCU if you do a search, over at radio control zone there is a 150 page thread on this chassis. I have had nearly every 4wd buggy around, the cheap parts and bashing friendly chassis make this one of my favorites, you ain't gonna win any races with this chassis but I have done some crazy stuff with mine Lots of good videos on youtube for the df 02, from pavement pounders with 3s on mamba maxx 77000 systems to bone stock. I made mine a wanna be truggy with a truck body and 4 inch tires, awesome basher that I can really flog around the yard.

RE: $99 HPI Monster + Bullet coming to US.
gotta disagree, my mt2 takes savage like beatings and don't hardly ever moan, mine was a ss converted and the heavy duty gearset has held up well on 2 and 3s, I have only blown the spider gears inside the diff, a couple times in the rear on 4s and both front and rear on 6s, I got my slipper locked down tight as I want all the power. The MT2 Slashkiller conversion is nice but for $10-15 worth of aluminum you can do it pretty easy. I dumped the radio box so the hardest part was marking and drilling the spot for the servo to mount up as its usually in the radio box, that being said, maybe 10 minutes to configure it.

RE: What is the best brushless R/C motor?
don't buy into the idea that kv is power, voltage is power, get the highest voltage your esc can take and get a motor based on the car and usage, a 3s 4000 kv motor will spank all over a 1s 12000 kv motor in 90% of applications. If you got a 6s esc and a 1850 kv motor that will typically spank all over the 3s 4000 kv I love Lehner motors but its so much easier buy a cheapie $30-60 china motor than drop $220-660 on a fine piece of german perfection.

mainly the wrecking was done on Prost, they battled hard in the early 80s and eventually Prost wrecked Senna to win the 89 championship and Senna wrecked Prost to win in 1990 both incidents in Japan if memory serves me Ayrton was a stand up guy, in 1992 at the French Grand Prix he stopped during the race to attend to an injured driver, he ran across the racetrack with no regard for his own safety, he was a living legend, now that he is gone his legacy is even greater, in 2009 over 200 + living Grand Prix drivers rated him the greatest of all time. Lets all hope and pray he stays the last man to ever loose his life in an F 1 car. At least he had one year with FORD power so he allready knew what was in store for the afterlife [:D]

RE: Stampede problems.
I do 4.5 volts for 7 minutes for a water break in, I know it sounds crazy but get either distilled or "Baby Water", its a little cleaner and won't put deposits on the motor like tap water and especially well water will. Tower hobbies sells there S 600 Electrifly motor for like $17, its on a 19 turn so it will be a little slower but lasts much longer the Graupner Motors are much better, the 600 Race makes better power than the titan 12 but costs darn near $40 The Johnson 550 motors can be had lots of places for under $8 each but they will be much slower than the 12 turn For a little while we were seeing Hong Nor 12 turn 550s for like $8 and $9 on the internet, they were at least as good as a titan 12t IMO, seems the supply must have dried up only one on ebay now and its being bid on.
