RE: Turning off LVC on MMP
so i was down for 2 weeks waiting on the motor/ESC combo to come in. I go through the pain of the beeps and get it all ready to go and i only get 4 batteries through it and im down for the count again. Broken steering bellcrank. I didn't realize how $$ this hobby is. Maybe i am doing something wrong. Out of my 3 buddies and I, we are out of order more than running. At least i have a Blitz on the way and i can change parts between the E-Firestorm and that. done venting

Cant exactly go shop off base. Me and a few buddys are trying to get into RC while we are here and none of us know much at all, so its tuff using the internet to learn and buy stuff with oiut knowing if it will work. so stuff breaks and we are down for a 1-2 weeks.

RE: ESC shot?
Thanks. Right now im overseas and doing all of that would take a good bit of time. It takes atleast 8 days to get anything. I looked better and it just has a little red light on. I tried reprogramming it and nothing. So, i just pulled the trigger on Castle Creations 1/10 Mamba Max Pro 4600kV System. Will this will work in the Firestorm? Do i need anything additional?. I was considering just getting a new car. But, i like this one and i already have so much money invested. I prolly burnt it up running in the sand when it is 115+. What is the mak temp outside i should run this in? or what is a good gearing for that motor and esc so that i can keep the temp low? i am running NiMh in it. Sorry for all the questions but i dont want to have to keep buying motors/esc's. Thanks

ESC shot?
My servo works when i plug my battery in, but the light on my ESC does not turn on. So i have no power to the moter. Is it the motor or ESC? how can i find out? I have an HPI E-Firestorm with the stock ESC and Motor. It has the Vector 4800 and vektor ESC.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Is there a secret to not stripping rims? i just put a pair of new Pro-line rims on and stripped them in one run. I thighted them down really good but i guess the nut backed off or something. Also, when my car is sitting still the motor sounds like its winding up even though im not pushihng the throttle. It will even move forward a little bit. What could cause that?

What if you spin one but the oher doesnt spin at all? But when you hit the throttle they both spin? When u spin it you can feel that the gears haven't slipped or what ever but it just doesnt spin when u spin the other wheel. How would you fix that? or is it even a problem?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Yeah i cleaned it. I was thinking maybe even velcro or Double Bouble. I'll look into that tape though. So besides the ESC i have also, blown a bearing out of a rear hub, some how melted a rear hub, got the hex bolt stuck into both rims, lost a pin that holds the hex bolt in place on the axel. Destroyed the body and it keeps pushing over the mounting post. Also, the pinion gear keeps coming loose. But, i have been beating it pretty hard. Taking it on 10-12 ft dirt /sand jumps with about 17 ft of distance. Its about 120+ degrees here so motor and battery are on fire. I would say i beat it beyond what it was designed for. Plus, im new so im not that good at landing. I am happy though. I will have to put some videos up. Deff not a cheap hobby. HOw do you guys bash your trucks.

He went with the VXL3 setup. We are pretty excited to see what it can do with a 5000mAH in it (We can't get LiPo). Also, when u have it on a stand and u spin one wheel should the other one move in the opposite direction?

so my buddy pulled the trigger on a brushless motor. Im not sure what but what would be a good cheap to semi cheap ESC to run? Does it depend on what motor he got? Im not sure he realizes he needs a new ESC

RE: New to R/C have a Stampede problem
Yeah they guy with the slash was on the throttle going over a bump from sand to pavement when he broke the first one. Im not sure when the other broke. I guess ill have to try and keep mine running till they get there fixed so we can all run together. We havent had more than 4 mins of run time together and we have all had them for over a week now. Bad thing is that it takes at least a week to get parts and thats if it gets here STUPID fast. Is there any way to make the Stampede faster with the 12T? Maybe smaller tires and some diff spur/pinion gears?

RE: New to R/C have a Stampede problem
Yeah it is an XL-5. It's actually my buddys truck. He bought two on ebay and both motors burnt up within 5 min. He bought 2 new 12T's or what ever is already in them. I wouls have recommended BL as well. Oh, well i guess its not my money or my trucks. What wuold cause it to not go in reverse though? I appreciate the help though. I have another buddy that got a used Slash and he has broken 2 yoke ends and now he blew up his transmission. I myself bought a new E-Firestorm Flux Waterproof and she has been a dream. But, its my first car so i have nothing to compare it to.

Tuens out it was the motor. I just put a flat head in there and pushed on what i assume were the brushes and it worked. Only problem now is, there is no reverse.

New to R/C have a Stampede problem
I recently purchased a used Stampede XL-5 and I am having some trouble with it. I can turn the wheels but there is no power. I am running NiMh batteries with it. When i turn on the ESC there is a steady red light which from what i gathered means it is set up for NiMh. I made sure all the connections were good. I programmed the transmitter ( at least the way the manual said to). What channels do the ESC and Steering Servo need to be in? Right now the ESC is in 2 and the Steering is in 1. THis motor has run in a diff truck also, the ESC was swapped out. Im not sure if the motor is dead or what. But it doesnt even ,ake a sound when u pull the trigger. Thanks
