Goldberg 40 Piper Cub window help
I am finishing a partially built Carl Goldberg 40 size piper cub and need to know if the side windows are supposed to fit flush with the outside of the airframe or are they inset? Any help appreciated, thanks. John

Carbon fiber stab holes
Just purchased a Blade 450 3D and also purchased the carbon fiber stab/fin set. The holes in the cf stab are way off! Has anyone else had the same problem?

New to RC boats and neeed help!
Was recently given a KNK PC404 boat which is partially constructed. The receiver is a Futaba FP-R127DF and the ESC is a Futaba MC230CR. I purchased an Onyx 8.4v, 3000mAh NiMH battery to power the ESC, my question is do I need a seperate 4.8 battery for the receiver since it is only rated for 4.8-6.0v? The transmitter is a Futaba Skysport 6, 75MHz. What is the recommended way to attach the fm antenna to or inside the hull? The motor runs but sometimes at full throttle with the throttle stick set on low, other times it works fine? Any help appreciated, it is a cool looking boat and am looking forward to her maiden voyage! Thanks, John

RE: Fokker D.VII 1/4 Balsa USA
You are right Michael, it is hard to watch but I know it will look wonderful after you repair it. Still have not maidened mine and after watching your video it makes me kinda nervous to say the least. Oh well no guts no glory as they say. Here are a few pics of our warbird event, not many WW1 birds but we all had a great time.

Fokker D-VII Weight table lettering
I have found two words for " total weight"- Gesamtgew and Gesamgewicht. Were both of these words used interchangably or only on early or later D-VIIs? HELP PLEASE. I have dry transfers using the latter but the Brome Co. Museum's D-VII has the first word in it's weight table?

Adding another receiver battery
My Fokker D-VII currently has a 6v, 1400mah NiCd battery, can I add a 6.6v, 2100mah LiFe using a Y harness or will this give me 12.6volts and fry my servos and receiver? As you can see I'm electronically challenged! Thanks for the input.

RE: Fokker D.VII 1/4 Balsa USA
Does anyone know what size prop I would need for static display? Thanks, JB. Also fired her up for the first time yesterday and she ran great, put about 3/4 of a tank through her with out any issues. Will keep ya posted!

Congratulations Michael! Way to go, she looks great and flys just as good, hope I can say the same on my maiden. Our Warbird event will be Aug. 5th,6th and 7th at the Abernathy airport! We are having a mall show this weekend to show off our birds before our big event. Will post a few pics if I get the chance.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
She is pretty understanding Warbird Man, she was even going to let me hang it from the ceiling all together, even bought the pulleys , cleat and rope, still might some day but I've gotta take it apart to get it out of the house anyway. I'll keep you all posted on her maiden flight, can't wait to see her in the sky! Thought I'd try to add a little more realism to the stock engine, adding some 2-56 nuts to the cylinder heads and may add some pushrods and valve springs.

Michael; Am anxious to see your vinyl lettering for your wingtips and such when you get them done, Warbird Man is also interested I think. Here are a coupl of pics I took yesterday in the back yard.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
Warbird Man; Yeah, I'll ck with Michael on the vinyl lettering, maybe he would make us a set , I'd be more than happy to pay for them. Seems to me that would be a good business to get in if you had the right equipment and were computer savy, which I'm not! Found a spot to park my bird over the entry way, wings will have to go on the wall in the sunroom though.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
Warbird Man; Still hanging around, finally got Fritz in the pilot's seat! Still haven't fired her up but will soon I hope. Will take her out for some photos to post also. The heat here has been the pits and no rain in sight to speak of. Trying to find someone to make the lettering for the wingtips and such, any ideas? Called Proctor and he has lost his source for his graphics, 1/4 scale Fokkers anyway. Glad to hear your maiden went ok!

RE: Topflite Gold kit P-47
Terry, Enjoying your build as I also have this kit and will be starting it as soon as I finish my current project( BUSA 1/4 Fokker D-VII). I've already purchased the engine and cockpit kits and the large fuel tank. Think I'll go with the DLE 20 for power in my bird. What size wheels are you planning on using, 3 1/2 or 3 3/4? I am also thinking of going with the E-Flight electric retracts for the mains, don't know if they have on for the tail wheel.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
Warbird Man Thanks for the help, do not have any small combing, thought about some fuel tubing but since I've already cut my leather the tubing was too big, think it will look ok without any. Your plane is looking great, can't wait to see it finished!

Warbird Man, did ya pre punch your holes in the sheeting for your cockpit combing or just sew it as you went? About to add mine this evening and was curious, have the holes punched in my leather but was wondering about the sheeting.

RE: Help...control throws for a TF .60 size P-47?
I am thinking about this plane for my next build and would like some engine suggestions that fit inside the cowling and still provide plenty of power. Thanks for your help . I currently have a OS FS-61 four stroke and an OS max FX -91, would either of these engines work?

Sorry to hear that Mike, I know you'll have that bird in the air in no time. The wind gives us fits here in west Texas also, especially this time of year, you may get a flight in early in the morning or late in the afternoon if your'e lucky. Our club will have a booth at the Slaton Air Show this coming weekend and may get a chance to put on a flight demonstration, will post pics if I get a chance.

RE: BUSA D-VII BUILD @ EAA 2010
Thanks Warbird Man. Weighed my plane using the bathroom scale method and it came out to 20 lbs., without fuel and pilot . Don't no how accurate that is but it's about what I thought it would weigh. Still need to add the cockpit combing , pilot's step and handholds and lettering here and there. May try to fire up the engine this weekend.

Thanks Michael, your stag looks awesome! The radiator fill stack is made of different size doweling. I used a small file to shape the top to resemble the filler cap and I'll paint it with brass enamel later.

That DH-1 looks really nice! Finished covering the bottom fuselage and adding the side stripes, still need to do the stripes on the cowling, put on the tail feathers, ect, etc., etc., it never ends!
