RE: FSA Clubhouse
ORIGINAL: weathervane It really does not mater. The club is to divided to agree on anything. All the little groups of friends that don't like the other groups. You will have the side wanting the dirt track and hating the play area. Then you will have the side liking the play area and hating the dirt track. It is just like the aerobatic and war bird fight. You will never get everyone to agree, and that is whats wrong with FSA.
I have been doing some flying at a private field in Howard County now for about a year and a half. I am sorry to hear that things have not changed at FSA. I am still a memeber at FSA and will continue to be one. Maybe next season I will give it another try and hopefully things will change. It's funny, standing in a field all by your self with knowone around is nice for a while but then it gets kinda boering. I joined FSA to meet people with the same interest in hopes of making some new friends and learning about the hobby.I think for the most part I did just that ,made some great friends and had fun flying with them.

RE: FSA Clubhouse
ORIGINAL: SpitfireMkII Man you guys.......the whole thing was my thoughts on getting outside flyers to come to our field, in particular, warbirds and that is one reason why they may shy away from coming. Just pointing that out, not that I feel that way, I don't. Don't care about the guys with their balls and stickers either. I don't fly at Delaware because those guys get crazy and many pilots really aren't up to flying these things. We have a great show and I do enjoy it. It is not a true scale event and thus the TOC style aerobats with non-scale paint jobs seem fine to me. Nice to have something to watch while we warbird drivers shy away from the wind. Its a shame someone told Kelly not to bring his plane....more is always better. Whoever said that should look at his work on the 40%, they might learn something.
I agree with what MT is saying here take a good look at his work on that 40% . Flying is flying as long as your having fun doing it. Well said MT..

RE: FSA Clubhouse
ORIGINAL: weathervane Rant on, Kelly, DO NOT take this the wrong way. I like you, you trained me, and I learned a lot. But man what is up with you? You are obviously flying at DCRC. Why come back to the FSA page just to fire everyone up. You did not attend AOTW and I have not seen you for 9 months or so. Who cares! Just fly and have fun. You do not like the pi$$ on 3D stickers. Great, I don't like the BACC. And some of the things said about our club. It seems as if everytime a big BS fight starts here, you are in the middle of it. WHO CARES. Lets just fly and have fun. Rant off. -Andrew
This should have been a PM, not a PH PH=Public Humiliation

RE: Used Venus II where are they?
After building my Venus I thought about how nice it would be to have one that was composite and with a two piece wing and tube. Ok I know we can't have everything but the two piece wing would sure be nice.

RE: New Gas Patternship
Just out od curiosity, what engines would be used for this type of airframe? I think you have a great idea seeing how the price of Nitro will be more this year and maybe years to come.

RE: Venus II
ORIGINAL: gaRCfield Mine has an OS120 also (2 stroke). Please note that my pump issues seem to be mostly operator error. If I were to do it again I'd go for an Iron Bay or Cline regulator.
I don't have any knowledge of pumps outside of the OS 140 pumped engines however your experiences with the Perry Pump are to my benefit if there are problems that might be worth looking at one of the other pumps. Thanks for any help you might be able to give before I make a selection.

RE: Venus II
I have a OS 120 on mine and I don't have any experience with pumps. I do like the idea that your CG is more stable throught flight. Thanks for the info.

RE: Venus II
ORIGINAL: cmoulder Thanks, Robert. This is actually a pretty well built airframe for an ARF, so even after a few hundred flights it was still in excellent shape. Mine was getting a lot of hangar rash, so I decided to address the things I thought could be improved - the fuel tank on CG, getting the tail servos inside, and modifying the wing tips. I did it in spurts of motivation during the winter and spring. Can't wait to see what you do with yours![8D]
Nice job on your Venus cmoulder. I think I will move my tank over the CG as well. Can you tell any difference in flight ?
