RE: On board gas..
A gas container is always full. Even when there is no more pression the container is full. The gas is always in balance: one part liquid other part gas When you open the container the pressure drops, the liquiq pass to gas. The formula is P+V=rT. So, respond to your question: Use cristal tube in your gas conection. Be sure you are filling your inboard container with liquid gas. When the liquid gas stops flowing from the main container to the inboard container, you will have all the gas you need. A small amount of liquid gas gives you gas enough for several starts. BE SURE YOU ARE NOT FEEDING YOUR ENGINE WITH LIQUID GAS

RE: Heres a really easy question I don't know...
So, Peter: If you study it briefly I can only suggest you to study it deeply. Remember, that what is written here, is read for many people. If you disagree or do not understand, you can ask again or expose your facts. We can always learn something... The answer for the holes is well explained in this thread. And in other threads in this forum. You would be amazed if you know what Bernoulli did for us. From the intake of our jet engines to the exhaust, passing by the wings and disturbing our landings, everything is related with Bernoulli. Happy new year. JMC

RE: Heres a really easy question I don't know...
again... there is negative pressure inside the exhaust pipe. the higher the speed of exhaust gases, the higher the negative pressure... so, we need air inside the pipe so that the pressure inside the pipe equalize the pressure outside ( atmospheric pressure) or we will get a collapsed pipe. Cooling is another question, but uses the same law: Bernoulli`s law. Making it easy, it says that the addition of pressure and speed remains unchanged: speed+pressure=k. If the speed goes up pressure goes down, because the addition of the two items remains unchanged. The air finds is way to reach the inside of the exhaust pipe

RE: Exhaust Pressure
If you are good with mathematics and physics use the Bernoulli's law. You can find all the information you need in wikipedia. This is not an easy task and, by the way you ask, it seems to me that you will be surprised with the results. Inside the exaust tube there is, allways, negative preesure. If you suceed the task keep us informed. There is another way: Just drill a hole in the exaust, in the point you want to know the pressure, and plug a device as used in turbocharged cars, start the engine and read the information. You will read pressures bellow zero. Good luck

RE: Effect of Missile Rails?
The real effect of missile rails is to prevent or minimising the WINGTIP VORTEX. Look for "WINGTIP VORTEX" in wikipedia.

RE: JetLegend F-15 Problem !!
You must be sure that the air can flow betwin the two pipes. The holes in the outer pipe are only needed if, for some reason, you have not enough air flowing betwin pipes. When the engine is running, the high speed of the exaust gases build depression in the exaust pipe. So, the air must fill the "space" free. If this doesn´t happen the pipe collapse. This is true for both pipes, but is more critical in the inner one. The gap betwin the two pipes in the rear end is a very smart idea because it sucks the air from the other side (turbine side). This air flow keeps the rear of the plane cold. Your problem is that the air can not go inside the gap of the two pipes and than you have depression and a collapsed pipe. So: 8 mm gap in the rear end is OK. You must check why the air can not go inside the gap betwin the two pipes. Fix the problem and try again. If the rear end of your plane is still hot then you can drill some holes in the outer pipe to allow more air inside the gap of the two pipes. Saudos is not my name, but our way to wish the best. RE: JetLegend F-15 Problem !!
Your problem is not the engine position, but no air flow betwin the inner and outer tubes. At the rear end the outer tube must be, at least, 5 mm longer than the inner tube and they must be concentric all the lenght with 5mm gap betwin them. As far as I can see by the picture, the air can´t go betwin pipes. You can drill one or more holes in the outer pipe to allow more air circulation if the rear keeps hot. Saudos

This is the thread where some posts were deleted. Some of them were writen in Portuguese and others in Portuguese and English. The "only english readers" were always able to follow the thread. However one thing must be said: if in this forum is only allowed the English then a lot of posts MUST be deleted. Good or bad news?
What do you know about the graupner 868 Mhz IFS ? Graupner says it is far better than the 2.4 Ghz: "...will provide additional advantages over 2.4 Ghz... propagation conditions are better for use on and under water... penetrates carbon fibre fuselages... little aerial, 9 cm long, do not need to be positioned at right-angles...." source: www.graupner-ifs-system.de And about the 35Mhz and 2.4Ghz simultaneously from acteurope? 7 to 10 km range? Are we spoiled by manufacturers or shall we suspect of so many good things? Will the 2.4 Ghz band reach the adult age? Manufacturers are fighting for the best share of the market or for safety? What do you think about this? JMC

With so much to do at home, why are you so cncerned about what others do in their own country? De facto, um Brasileiro dizer piadinhas acerca da segurança de companhis aereas, é mesmo de muito mau gosto.... And Mr. Yellowcraft: You should think twice before writing words like amoral, unconscionable, depraved... I must remind you that a lot of things that you Americans allow to happen in your country, are, at least, amoral, unsconscionable, depraved... With my respect for all the victimes and their families, I mean incidents with guns in schools and and legal murders. And, yes, I have the right to say this. And Mr. Gladwin: You must be very happy. You are old enough to fly more than 40 years, but seems that you must learn a lot yet how to explain your point of view without flame, degrade, insult or embarrass. A flight was done. You desagree. OK. No big deal. You think that the world must know why you desagree. OK. Just do it. BUT YOU MUST RESPECT ALL THE OTHERS THAT THINK DIFERENT FROM YOU. Pilots of the flight " INCLUSO" If you think you must begin a CRUSADA against this type of flights, do it. IN THE RIGHT PLACES, i e, The autorities that rules this kind of things. And than, may be, you could say that you are doing something about safe. TO MR. GLADWIN AND ALL THE OTHERS CARPE DIEM

......hhhmmmm....... It seems that a flight ,somewhere in Portugal ,bothers so much people... And it seems that Mr. Gladwin, after all, is not so polite as he should be... The flight was covered exaustly by Portuguese media and I could tell you a lot of things that you, I am sure, would like to know... But you did not ask politely.... So, at the level you speak, I am out...

RE: 9 Cap mix question, help
...... I want two mixs........ Yes. That is the answer! Use pmix6 for take off flaps, like that: mix throtle with aileron. you have five positions,so: thr 1st pos. ------- ail % desired thr 2nd pos ------- ail same% as 1 st pos thr 3rd pos -------- ail same% as 1st pos thr 4th pos -------- ail same % as 1st pos thr 5th pos -------- ail same % as 1 st pos Use switch c to activate the mix (center pos.). For landing flaps use pmix7, same way but with % you want. Switch c to activate the mix, but now down pos.

RE: P160 Help
The problem is that the gsu is processing information from the rpm sensor or/and temp. probe that are not correct. So, to protect the engine, the gsu cut the rpm. But the nightmare is that often is the gsu that "invents" the malfunction. It hapened to me. Get professional help, but ask what is the problem. Reset the gsu would be, probably, enough. Regards

RE: Jet Speed Event 2007

RE: This can happen when you do not have a fire extinguisher
Yes! Starting an enclosed turbine is always a act of courage. It happened to me: Preparing the maiden flight of a f-8 crusader, we check and test everything several times. Everything was OK. Then we mount the wing and started the engine. The starter blows, ignition, acceleration, ... the starter fails and a big fire began. We were prepared and the guy with the extinguisher pulled the trigger. Two seconds were enough to kill the fire. It was the first time i had a starter failure in seven years of turbine's practice... What do you know about inboard extinguishers? Is there someway of make things safer with enclosed engines? Regards
