Hey, have any of you ever try to balance your plane without the wings on? How did it work out? :)
ORIGINAL: PwrDude Nice. :) Got awful quiet in here, didn't it? I found out the scratch built plane I bought is a Super Sportster. I think it originally had a .40 engine. You guys are starting to make me change my mind about converting it to electric now...lol. Patrick
Hey Pat, I pick that plane up at a flyin in Kenneth Mo several yrs back for one of the guys here. He had a 60 size motor in it. It flew real good. I don't know about using it as you first plane.

Well Jack, that sounds ok to me, but that person should only be able to hold office in 1 club at a time. this would take doug, Frank, and myself off of the list
ORIGINAL: Nogyro
ORIGINAL: hugger-4641  I've been  wondering if there are enough guys between Paris and Mckenzie that could get together and start a club in the Paris area? Anybody who might be interested, feel free to chime in here or PM me.
I nominate Bill Belote as President and Jack Hunt as V.P. I need a second and all in favor say ''I''. Got all the wood framewrok installed in fuse and all the tail feathers hinged and working. Need to finish sheeting the wing panels and lay up the center wing skins. Engines and retracts all installed. Then its paint and radio. Been keeping pictures on all the progress. When its finished, Ill put together a build thread from day one till finished. RE: KEN/TEN FLYING
ORIGINAL: Nogyro Well I got the engine swap done on my EF Extra. Took out a DA50 on tuned pipe and installed a new DLE 55 from VV. They had a killer deal going for Christmas and I got the engine, cm-6 plug, and Xoar 23x8 prop shipped to my door for $333. It was just too good of a deal to pass up. [:)] Here's a few pics of the install. The 55 is just a bit longer the the DA, but I was able to swap out the standoffs and make most of it up. The DA's were 3/16'' shorter than the stock DLE's, that along with my cowl being just a little to close to the backplate with the DA made the DLE fit just about perfect. Just enough clearance between the muffler and the engine box too. I've got almost a gallon of fuel through it now and I couldn't ask for a better running engine upright or inverted, just dead on.
Well remember that you really got it for 308.00 after you sold me the prop!!!! hahahaaaaa
