RE: are these blades any good for cp pro?
Hello Mark, Hey and a very Happy Father's Day to you too! What could be better than a dad with his son out flying RC right? Forgive me for being so brief but I just wanted to drop in for a moment and say once again happy fathers day and I will write tomorrow about your zero. PART II Sorry to hear the Zero went in again. Your starting to scare me when I think of my first flight on the 51 whether I can land the puppy? When I landed the Bixler three time now I had a bit of a hard time due to it being light and as I came in. I slowed it down so much that it too wanted to stall or rise up and down with the breeze. So on my last go round I took and flew her in under throttle and got her down with power and elevator and when she touched the ground I shut down the motor and that worked for me. Looks like your getting tons of use of that HD touch up paint. Did you get a set of extra props on your Zero box? I did. You know you might be right , if you have tall June grass to land in if a landing gear won't come down or you have other issues that can make a great alternative to come in at. I can't wait to get going again the build. Sadly we had another passing......... of Judys brother yesterday and this make family loss #3 since February! We wind up with 8-12 sleeping here when everyone flies in to attend. We borrow those blow up beds from the friends and this place looks like a army barracks lol. So that again will slow down the household for another week until we lay him to rest. As harsh as this must sound with all of that sadness for the most part behind us and the rent house now being occupied my time is my own and I can start doing the thing I want to do. Heck man my house needs work too and now I can do it when I have a mind too. I hope your Fathers Days was a good one too. Being a chocolate-holic I got two huge jugs of Hersey's syrup for my milk, two boxes of something new... Hersey's chocolate pudding you make out of the box, and slippers I desperately needed. Take care Guys

Hello Glenn, I think you're right on the money with your new philosophy regarding flying. I don't differ much from you myself in that regard. I have not flown with the guys in probably 30 days. The last time I flew with the guys was the maiden for my grandsons Bixler. I look at all of the stuff I named sitting here in the garage and on the walls and I wonder why I even have it because I just don't have the drive to fly now a days. Sometimes I think it was the conquest, that made me work so hard and finally in the end to master about 50% flying inverted, rainbows, shoot outs, from and back flips and corkscrew rolls. I can clearly recall that once I did that (inverted flight) that for me was a landmark In my flying ability and was like the race was over for me. I certainly hope my new be 51 a scale plane and flying slow and easy and going for the "look" and flying scale will bring me some more pleasure in hobby. I can also recall the last time I flew the 700, three packs I was so little loss for my thumbs and skill I flew very slow very upright and very careful laughing out loud. On the third pack I did do some loops in a little inverted but just kind a lost my taste for chocolate so to speak, you know what I mean? Okay that's enough complaining about the Hobby, it's the guys I'm really here for, like you, Nick and Mark. When you think about it we have a lot of years on the belt together on this Forum. OMG I just thought of a better analogy, "now that we've all broken the sound barrier" so to speak what's left! Oh boy I really like that one :-)

Hello boys, Glenn, nice to hear from you. I think you made a very prudent move getting the 130 from Amazon for stated reasons. I hope yours will tip top upon arrival. The other day I was knocking around my heli stuff and I still have my Blade 400, 2 ea. CX2s, MCX, 450 Pro, 450 Pro NIB, my trusty 500, and of course my 700e, 450&550 Quad and Hexa, a NIB Bixler V2 1500mm, and let us not forget my newest starting build P-51. I submit the following question; Where the heck did all this stuff come from? If you ever want a 450 Pro let me know. Enjoy your new heli and get some fresh packs and you will be downtown! Mark, So you old and feeble and can't FIND your old packs??? that should be me talking lol. Great news to hear of more about more Zero flights. Looks like your pre-purchasing that HD touch up was a swell idea. Did you get those little small bottles color sample or did you get pints/quarts? I watched half of Banana Hobbies build to where you hook up the wing harness. I was getting groggy so I shut it down that day. Wife just came back from a three day wine tasting tour up north and yesterday's grand sons graduation and then Fathers Day Sunday, oops barber is ready for me bye. Back! And two house guests over the weekend Friday and sat so perhaps next week I'll finish my 51. I can't wait to see the retracts work as you said. Ok guys, staying for the adventures of us 4 Musketeers....

Hello Nick, Your new screen looks awesome. I took your link at the Pro's pages and your page looks every bit as good as "their's". As you said, if you don't need some of the information why muddy the waters navigating through it would be a just a waste of time. Thanks for the update on the Hangers, there being two and all. A nice place to fly if you can get those real Heli's to stay out of your way lol. No RC news for me yet! This is to say this is my first day not having to go to the rent house, so I laid about the house taking it easy today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a fair day so perhaps I'll take the something out and fly.................ah the life of leisure! Take care

Hello Mark, Alibabah please give rain to Mark! Yes Mark it took me three days or so before I could get the pictures to load. I kept thinking it was something at my end. I kept reducing the picture sizes but to no avail. Then I would hit once a day for a few days until I got them in. On the PS, They will be one of the last think I get to before we go back to Arizona at the end of summer, like Nov. I want to take an extra 24vt system with to AZ "just in case" Boy oh boy I can't wait to see that puppy in the air. As I said, we turn over the keys tomorrow Sunday but they cannot start moving boxes in until June 15 (insurance reasons). That gives them two weeks FREE rent. Then about Wednesday of next week the final little bit of pick up work (broken sprinkler, furnace filter, when we pulled the frig today I notice the wall outlet was cracked and broken) little stuff like that. HOLY COW my boy is QUADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I too just bought one of those (diff brand) for the grandson. While it flies, it is pretty "twitchy" and even I have a heck of time trying to fly iy. I should-dah bought a brand name[:o] You will love the simplicity of it............. so stable, kinda makes ya hate heli's lol. Take care

Hey Nick, Good deal on your programming, it looks great. As you said once you get the line bars on both sides it will done. Wow that you darned near took out a real helicopter sounds pretty scary. That's seems to be the norm anymore at air shows, it has just gone nuts at air shows to be honest. You see on TV that at nearly every air show someone goes down! Glad you met other RC Pilots and overall had a nice day. You know they built the SR71 right here where I live, about 30-40 miles away. I have had my grandson flying twice now. He has 6 packs under his belt and on this day this was his thrid pack making the total of 6 in his life time. After I lifted the 450 Quadcopter I left the radio with him and I made a short video of him flying it. He loved it. Soon we will buddy box the Bixler I built for him. He seems to really be hungery for it too which really helps. Here is a short 35 seconds of his flight. I am getting caught up other matters and hope to build my P-51B soon, next week perhaps. Hi Mark and thank you. As I said above that SR71 was built buy Lockeed Martin I believe and the Skunk Works ( a top secret area here) is where testing was and Area 51 too! That's the best of my recollection. It is a shame..... they moth balled that puppy and it's life was so short but it was FAST! Scott, great great video man!

Mark, Congratulations on your maiden flight, I knew you could do it! Light sticks tied to plane, I LMAO when I read that. I don't see goggles or any type of FPV video in my to early future. I am good with with line of site for now. I mounted my gopro to my 450 quad today because FINALLY my landing gear arrived. I did a test hover and was not to bad. I was up about 200 feet is all over the house. I stopped halfway up and did a slow, very slow 360 trying not to blur the images and then did the same from on-high. I still need to do some vibration work, I just need some free time. Once again I glad your new heli is airborne and your having some fun. I only made like two adjustments on my VBAR after the first few flights and now more than 100 flights later she it still in perfect trim and performs like the first day. Nick, Yes I am having fun with all of the night flying, I went out both Friday and Saturday nights. Now this week it is get to down chores[:o] Sorry you have to cover for others, don't let the school work slide there mister!!

Hello Boys, Nick, congrats on your air show in stereo, two heli's at once! I am glad the monies raised went to Make a Wish. Mark, man I am sorry they are breaking your back at work! It does not sound like fun...... at all. I hope your maiden comes off well, in fact........... I know it will because you are a very competent builder! ! Glad your safe from the storms too. It is just nuts here, I am running around like a crazy man trying to keep up with things. Here are some pictures of the mountains and Lake my buddy took with my GOPRO on his quad when at the last minute before he left for vacation I built up a set of landing gear got the quad to the camera would be underneath. The Lake was at 8,300 feet. The Gravity Rock as you see teetering is at 10,000 feet. His quad which again is like mine flies 15 minutes down here but up there is was a fast 6 minutes because the air is so thin, the props race trying to keep itself aloft. Yes I know the skids show but it is what it is guys. Just today he got his new made to fit landing gear so that issue is gone now. My landing gear got lost in the mail and I am fighting with the vendor. with out them I can't do any videos. Also we have been night flying with our quads and planes. Here is my Apprentice by Parkzone that I lit up with a 134 LED's. She is sweet! Godda run but BOTH OF YOU check your PM boxes from me.

RE: are these blades any good for cp pro?
Hello Nick, Hey my friend I had a thought. In the near future I will be building an 800 size quad or hex copter. Of course they still fly a 12 volt system and most guys here use 5,500 mAh 11.1 packs. My thought is, what can't I use my lager 24 vt 6S packs from my big helis and cut their voltage in half. I see where you use a Zener Diode and a limiting capasitor I think, reducing the voltage is a no brainer. What looks to be an issue is to drop that 24 to 12 vts but not loose the amperage needed from the battery. Simply said, I would need a adapter to plug into the batteries out put and then on to my speed controller, ie: NAZA. What is you opinion. Is this something that could be made up but not be of to much added weight? I just HATE having to buy more batteries. Right now we fly a 2200 3S pack and get 5-6 minutes. But now we are doubling the system with two (2) 3S 2,200 packs and when we night fly we are getting 14.40 minutes! So I suppose I could perhaps easier just put (4) 3S packs in parallel which would give me 11.1 8,800 mAh jumbo pack. Again while I know that works, I would "really" like to use my 6S packs to make life a bit easier. What say you my friend? I hope school is going well for and that you are enjoying at least some of your classes. I sure hope Mark and his family can come through this impending storm safely! John

Well Nick, it looks like your time will be devoted to your studies. There is nothing wrong with that! As you said some classes will be fun and some with just plain hard work. But the pay off will be huge for your future. Good luck! I am sitting here charging my new HK Nano 2200 that I want to test in my quad. Considering my old 2200 are in excess of two years old and are bloated. Oh they fly the quad but I know from experience they are done so to speak. So the. Ew packs should make that puppy POP! I have moved over to XT60 battery ends and am leaving EC3s behind just like I did with Deans. I also got 4 rolls of LED lights in green, blue, white, and yellow to light up m Apprentice plane. I'll tell ya flying at night is a blast! We fly till Midnight each time. Take care Nick

RE: are these blades any good for cp pro?
Hello Nick, Do you have 24 vt power supplies or two 12 volt-ers? When you take them in your tackle box what do you use to run them? Are you using two chargers for two different size batteries, or just charging two batteries for the your one heli? Remember when I made my PS carry case from the HD tool box? It carries my 24 PS and my iCharger neat as a pin I tell ya. Then when I get to the field I just plug the box into the generator and I am good. Hello Mark, I hope your ESC came in! I must clarify what I said now after speaking with Jason again from the mountains. I found he "stood" next to the 12K cliff but failed to lift off due to the updraft and the thin air and he was afraid to lose my GOPRO and his heli. So the pictures he is bringing home today will be from about where he camped which was 8-9K and greater. He sped up the camera to shoot every two-seconds to gather more pic's for the limited time he could stay airborne. Remember, down here at home, we get 12-15 minutes on two 2200 packs in parallel, but up there he was only getting a safe 5 min and he pushed to 6.5 min and was losing altitude and almost lost the heli. In fact, he said he was WIDE OPEN on the throttle and the quad was in a slow slow "controlled fall" and he got her landed safely. After that he stayed at 5 min as a max. We are both running our 2.5 year old Rhinos until we order new batteries. New higher C packs will make a remarkable difference I am sure. Still well over a 100+ daily so I ave not flown in two weeks, perhaps three weeks as I really think about it. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jumping from a perfectly good aero-plane........................ were you nuts back them Mark LMAO............ Smiles to you two[;)]

He is off on vacation to Huntington Lake here in Northern Ca. After a few videos I had him take the camera from video mode to snap shot mode to where it snaps a photos every 2-5 seconds. Here are a few shots the Quad took. You might notice his altitude is pretty high. He is a nealry 12,000 feet and where he can fley here with two packs in parallel he stays up 12-15 minutes. At his present altitude it is pushing a whopping 51/2 to 6 minutes.

Hi Nick. Good to hear you had so much fun with the Furion and Whiplash! Nothing is better than a day of fun spent in the air. This morning on the news they spoke about "used books" for new school starts today here in CA and they said that Amazon is a now a seller and is doing landmark business. I am happy you found a great deal too. No flying here, well over a 100 everyday and the AC runs 24-7. I set up my buddies quad with a quick jury rigged set of landing gear high enough the get my GO PRO under her belly and he went off to the Lakes and mountains 8,000 feet up and is getting some aerial shots and videos both. he texted me and said all was going well, and I just can't wait to see them! We are gonna build 800 size either quads or octocopters for more lifting power of heavier cameras. He wants to consider the new HK KK mother boards and related electronics. Me, I'll stick the DJI NAZA with GPS even if it costs me $200.00 more. To me it is like a choice of 3GX verses VBAR, I'll take the VBAR every time. I consider that move "insurance" that I stay in the air! What strikes me so weird is............... Quada ans Octo's have no servoes! After five years of flying and needing servos on everything, then now to fly without them kind of boggles my mind. On the TV stuff I have read a few blurbs on the new technology. The times are moving fast, buy it today and it will be outdated within 6 mo to one year. Take care and do well in school!

Hello Boys, Sorry I have been dark and off line but I lost a dear friend last week (leukemia) and I have had to get my legs back under me. Happy news to share, my 450 Quad with NANZA and GPS is done, had it s maiden and now a group of us night fly. Holy cow..... we are having so much fun, two of ran our TX's down to low battery alarm mode one night! I have some videos for you. The first is of my friend who finished his 4 days before me so he now knows the short cuts so we did mine. We did a test hover in my back yard and did ok. I say ok because she was a bit twitchy. Later we found the blades are cheap and the center hole is loose and not "centered". New higher grade props did the trick. We used HK nite lights and they are extremely bright! Video 1. Is an instructional video and starts with photos and then video on programming and some flying I think. As we all do, we try to pass on what we learn to others. This video is for my friend to help him along the way as Jason helped me. The blades again in this video were crap so the heli was a bit unstable. Video 2. Is a first flight at the field after I installed the night lights and making NAZA adjustments from the laptop to adjust the gyro's. Jason is flying my Quad and I am on camera. WATCH IN 720 HD BUT LET IT LOAD FIRST"COMPLETELY" We flew from 5:30 pm. until 12:00 midnight at the field in total darkness. I can't wait to show you a video from our night time flying. Does the term FLYING SAUCERS mean anything to you lol. You can fly this quad anywhere you can see it and as I wrote before if you lose site I flip the switch to put it in GPS return home or simply turn off the radio and back she comes and lands by herself! In freaking un-believable!!!!!!!!!!!! That will also be my next video for you. OK, just cause I am back I don't want to get verbose............... OOOPS.... TO LATE! John
