RE: Yellow P-47 build question
I already installed all the mounts and brackets with Hysol. I know a lot of guys have used Hysol on Yellow's polyester glass without any issues at all. I am going to add some 3.1 oz cloth and poly resin to all my mounts and brackets just to be on the safe side. Yellow recommends using 6 oz cloth but since I used Hysol to glue everything I think the 3.1 oz will be plenty. I am using the cockpit tub from Yellow and the painted cockpit from Just the Pits. This plane is just an everyday flier so it does not need a super scale cockpit. Thanks, Tony

RE: Yellow P-47 build question
Thank you for the advice. I guess I will add some glass cloth and resin to the mounts. I am pretty far along with the build. I actually had somebody do most of the building and I am just finishing things up. Setting up the cockpit right now then it will be very close to final sand and primer. Thanks again, Tony

RE: Yellow P-47 build question
I cleaned the area with acetone, sanded the fuse with 60 grit paper then cleaned with acetone again before gluing.

RE: G-45/ 2 Questions for a newbie
Thank you very much! I have the 32 oz tank, that is why I was asking. I guess I will go and buy a smaller one. No need to fly for 45 minutes! Appreciate the help!!! Tony

G-45/ 2 Questions for a newbie
I am pretty new using gas engines. I will be using a G-45 and I have 2 questions. What is a good size tank to use? I can fit a 32oz tank in the Yellow P-47 but is that way too big of a tank? My other question is; Is it true that it does not matter where the fuel tank is located in relation to the carb on gas engines because the carb uses a pump? I am used to glow engines where the tank has to be mounted at a certain location vertically in relation to the carb. Thanks, Tony

Carl, Fred is building this Spit for me. It will be using a B&B muffler just like Leo used in the instructions with his firewall kit. Later, Tony Gag Jr.

RE: HS-985MG Question?
Ok, so I will assume the answer to the question is no. The HS-645MG does not have a Karbonite/Metal gear in it. I will return the HS-985MG because I want to stay away from Karbonite. Thanks, Tony

RE: HS-985MG Question?
Thanks for the response but does the HS-645 use the same karbonite/metal gear or is it all metal?

HS-985MG Question?
I just bought a brand new HS-985MG servo and I have a question. On the box it says that the servo contains a metal-karbonite gear. I have heard that karbonite gears are not good for models using gas motors. Before I purchased the 985MG I emailed Hitec customer service and they told me that the gear train on the 985MG was just as strong as the 645MG and that the 645MG also contained the same metal-karbonite gear. Is that true? I will be using this servo on the elevator of my Yellow Aircraft P-47 using a G-45 so I want to make sure the gears are strong enough for the application. Thank you, Tony

DA Question
This is kind of a silly question. I just received a DA-50 from Chief Aircraft and it did not come in a manufacture's box. It was wrapped in a plastic bag inside a normal shipping box. Is that normal? Thanks, Tony
