This was my first time at Route 66. This is such a great event. I had a blast watching and taking some great shots. This rally will definitely be on my schedule next year. John B1ModelProject.com

RE: Programing Jetronics Proportional Brake Valve
Hi Mike, Can I have the use of the parking brake too which what you just mentioned? After messing around with the switching, seems like the middle switch and bottom switch turns on the braking to parking brake. If I could make the middle switch the parking brake and the bottom switch the proportional brake mode, that would work but it seems that both modes are working the same time. I guess I have to just keep playing with it.

RE: DA50 and Bel-Ray H1R oil?
Somebody told me to find an octane around 91 or so with no Ethanol. Does Ethanol hurt the engine? Anyone have any issues with Ethanol?

RE: Programing Jetronics Proportional Brake Valve
I dont know if my instance is the radio programming or the air valve programming. I have my brake valve assigned to my aux2 (3-position) switch on my JR9503 radio. The brakes only turn on when I switch to the middle position from the top position which it is fully locked in parking brake mode. Well also the proportional will work too when I move the stick to the down evevator in the middle position as well, but when I switch back to the top position on my radio, the brake valve seems to be turned off. What i want it to do it be proportional in the top switch positon but its not doing that. Is the radio setup correctly? Thanks! John

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY DATES AND LOCATION
Cant wait to see all the updates and videos! Check out http://www.b1modelproject.com for all of B1-Bob's latest BITW 2011 videos. Just spoke to Bob, due to the large format of the HD videos and the terrible hotel internet, those videos may not be available for viewing until sometime after the the Jet meet. But he is going to film with his normal camera and will be updating live throughout the events. Thanks! John

RE: Why has buying a jet in the classified become so much of a PITA??
This is on a side note. I know paypal is great for the buyers sake, but the seller gets screwed if it turns back on him. I dont know if paypal have any agreement with RC Universe. I heard a story about a guy who sold a turbine on rcuniverse through paypal. Well the buyer sent that turbine in for service and got a bill back for pretty much the same amount he paid buying the turbine from the seller. So long story short, paypal forced the seller to refund the total amount to the buyer. I never did find out if he got the turbine back or what. Seems like he pretty much handed away a turbine for free. So sellers beware. There are some buyers out there that prey on sellers to do just that. I once sold a O.S. 50 Helicopter engine on Ebay. From the outside it was in pretty great shape and sold as is. Worked flawless. Well we have to watch how we word things because buyers can come back and bite you, well this one thought he could. He contacted me saying he opened the engine being a expert he claims he was, and said all the internal parts were worn and the engine was seized. The engine was practually brand new looking. Well I emailed him saying "Im sorry for your concerns but the engine was in excellent working order and the pictures tell the story" He then filed a claim with Ebay. Well I was pretty pissed. I wrote up a well documented letter hamming his A$$, ebay read it and they took my side, case closed! I never heard from the guy again. So I just wanted to put this out there, anywhere you sell stuff, just be careful and always post "As IS" no warranty or returns. For the buyers, unless you know im personally, dont sent cash.

RE: Bobcat 50 notes (nitro Planes)
I just flew mine for the first time yesterday. On the first flight, it took alot of runway and then went almost straight up. Im thinking it is tail heavy but it did trim it out in flight with some up evevator. I have to check that. Im curious if the main landing gear is preventing the plane from taking off earlier since its placed kind of far back. I used alot of elevator and all of 300 feet of runway until it took off on a 60 degree climb until I corrected it. I may adjust the landing gear forward a bit, but I dont want the prop to not be protected. It has two flights on it but I think I will make sure the CG is 10.25in from frontmost leading edge. The manual sugests more then that. I agree, a .46 is not enough when going vertical, but a good flyer atleast.
