Good Video Kennykiller. Only comment I have is that i'd rather hear the sound of the roaring water and the truck over some music. Just my personal preference, but hell of a spot you have there! I'm going to Gatlinburg, Tennessee (The Great Smokey Mountain National Park) over Memorial Day weekend and plan to bring the Summit to have some fun in the Smokey Mountain Streams! Hopefully I come back with some good video's! Your killing me though because I REALLY want that Go PRO HERO II. How are you likeing it? Everything you thought it would be? Any problems with it? Video quality is superb!
ORIGINAL: wormburner62 Thanks man!   I guess it worked out that the smrc kit is $135 now because if it was still $75 i probably would've just bought it and never bothered to try it this way so i guess it worked out. It definately runs great though. I've been following your thread so need to see some good vids.
No problem, Yah no one can even get ahold of Scott at SMRC anymore. I hope the guy is ok, but he basically disappeared.....? I got my GST all running good, i'll get a video together shortly, I know I keep saying that but lately i've been super busy. As of now I should be ready to shoot some more videos, have a final weight on the truck fully converted etc. All I can say is this sucker is heavy, I can;t bash it like I do my Revo/Flux because it's so much harder to control in the air, first big jump was a disaster breaking my new front Aluminum upeer A Arm. I need to find the Aluminum C hubs, i've broken 3 already into tiny pieces lol. It's a completely different beast, not good for big jumps, but great for hill climbs, running in the fields and smaller bashing around, definitely don't hit over 10+ feet like I did or it's breakage for sure. I do plan to backflip this baby one good time off this big hill I run on, but I need to get it on video.

I also have been searching and reading a ton this afternoon, another guy used some Teflon tape as a temp fix, said he has no wobble now anymore, he just wrapped the teflon around the threaded section and pushed it through the hex hole and it was tight, obviously not a long term solution but definitely will get it fixed for now ;) Another guy used a brass tube and cut it into pieces

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
ORIGINAL: muck76 On the traxxas forum there is a thread on the hexes. Some are using a real nice set from Germany, some are using the HPI with washers, and others are making these work with bushings or nuts. I'm personally going to try to cut the blue hex just after the threads and use the HPI nuts to hold the wheels on use the remaining hex. If that does not work, i'll then try a heli coil in an uncut hex. Stock axles do the same thing.
Ok so i'm not going crazy. Awesome! lol. I'll go over to the Traxxas forum and search around for the thread, not really wanting to order a set of Hexes from Germany. Kinda seems like a hassle, but we shall see what happens. Thanks for the help!

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
ORIGINAL: LaTuFu If you're talking about the play in the Traxxas 17mm hexes, there isn't much you can do about that. They have slop in them, that's all there is to it. You can go with HPI hexes, or there are some VERY nice hexes from HPP in Germany. <a href=''http://www.hpp-germany.com/factory-shop/index.php?page=product&x84044=db43d81bb96c7d0d3dbc7aa369aa25b9&info=2'' target=''_blank''>Linky
Hmm looks like this is my problem possibly..... So with the hex wobble, is it inside the actual hex, where the CVD shaft slides into the Hex hole, that's what is wobbly when I tug back and forth on the tires. I mean it's quite noticeable. I don't think I ever noticed this with the stock tires ever before. So bad i'd rather get rid of the truck then run it like that. So I need to buy some HPI 17mm Hexes to fix this then...hmm not happy about that, but whatever i;d rather do that than have a $700 paperweight. I wonder if it is WORSE with the CVD's compared to the stock shafts? Maybe i'll put a stock shaft in and see what difference there is?

Good job figuring out how to convert it to brushless without the SMRC Kit. I did the Kit as soon as it was released so I only paid $75 bucks shipped and I love it but it looks like yours will work pretty good to. I plan to take mine out this weekend to shoot some video FINALLY. Been super busy. Enjoy it and take a video and share it, not many on youtube so those of us with tthe BL GST need to create some more videos. I absolutely love this truck!

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
I did not get much time to look at it last night since I was busy, but I pulled it off the shelf and messed around with it for a few minutes. Now I don;t think it;s my pillow balls, it seems like my actual CVD's / Wheels hexes go into the Desperado wheels, like it has some wiggle room, thus this is where my fishtailing and canted wheels atre coming from. All 4 wheels are like this, lots of side to side play, not coming from the pillow ball area, but from where the CVD's threads go into the Traxxas Hexes. I'll pull it apart tonight for sure, but maybe I have some ordeal with the hexes wallowing out of something, Won;t know for sure till I pull them off tonight. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys.

RE: THE Official HPI Savage Flux-HP Thread
Yah I just bought the Axial 8 spoke rims and the 40 series 3.8 Trencher tires. Problem is they weight MORE than the Heavy 23mm Cheyenne wheels and Big Joe tires. I figured they would weight less so now I have two sets of heavy tires. I'm going to try these out, adjust the shock oil weight and see what happens, If I break stuff again (i mean easily) then I may sell the truck or just buy stock tires again, I just hate small tires on a big ol Flux XL, looks stupid to me, but at this point i am running out of choices.

Worst problem I have it built to the hilt and now it breaks more than it did stock lol. Summit is running very well even with the big tires, the Big Joes grip much better than the stock Canyon At's. I think the smaller tire did make me lose 1-2mph speed but thats just how it seems to me.
ORIGINAL: LaTuFu Fish tailing? Wheels canted? Sounds like you need to tune up the camber and toe all the way around. And possibly some steering trim and/or steering servo adjustment as well.
Yes and Yes. The only adjustment I can really make is the pillow balls. I have all RPM A Arms, True Track Rear Kit, and all RPM Axle Carrier on all 4 corners (maybe it's the axle carriers screwing me up). My steering trim/servo adjustments are good to go, it's whatever I have messed up/wrong that is causing my canted wheels and fish tailing. When I was stock, I had 0 problems adjusting toe/camber etc, now i'm lost like I don;t know what i'm doing...which I do but man something just isn't right. I'll snap some pics later tonight when I work on it.

RE: Traxxas Summit
Just to let you guys know. The Trencher 40 series W/ Axial 8 spoke black chrome wheels (UN Taped) weight MORE than my 23mm Cheyenne wheels and Big Joe tires that are taped inside. Not happy fiding that out so before you buy just know these two types of wheel/tire combo's are EXTREMELY heavy. I currently am running the Big joes on my Summit and they work pretty darn good. However my Flux HP XL...not so much, the Big joe's broke tons of parts because the Fllux it's so much faster / powerful so to the point I may jsut go back to running stock tires and dealing with the big truck, little tire look that I absolutely hate!

I have problems with the steel CDVs popping out due to the extra flex of the RPM arms. If that becomes an issue you can get extended drive cups part# 5153R, I haven't given them a try yet but I do intend to. Also the pillow balls seem to pop out of the RPM axle carriers pretty easily so I have considered going back to stock for the front.
Man I don;t know, it;s getting frustrating. All this money and my Revo runs like absolute crap now, wheels canted, horrible fish tail in the rear just absolute garbage. I'll check the pillow balls when I get home again but I don't know. Can you snap some pics to show how much thread you have left on the pillow ball when screwed in fully. I have never had a problem like this.
