RE: Issue with buyer that made an offer
If you accepted the buyers offer using the tools on the site, then you can post feedback. That is, unless you have since marked the offer as Transaction Incomplete. You can only post a rating when there is an offer in the system marked Accepted.

I am sorry you are having a problem with another RCU member. You should post an appropriate rating to the buyers account then relist the item for sale.

RE: Pictures not uploading?
Occasionally one of our servers will fault and image uploads will stop working temporarily. This usually corrects itself within a short period of time. If it does not, please let us know. I just now looked at your ads and all appear to have images in them. We apologize for the inconvenience.

RE: Pretty Disgusted with Sellers on RCU
I am sorry you have had a run of bad luck with sellers as of late. I can only offer that RCU is not the only place where buyers have reported problems with sellers, and vice versa. I browse several other forums, some RC related and some not, and I see these types of issues on a nearly daily basis. This is unfortunately the risk one takes when engaging in a transaction with an unknown 3rd party for a used item. Especially one such as an engine. Also please understand it is not permissible to call out specific members in the forums in relation to a marketplace transaction. For this reason, your post has been edited to remove the links to the items in question. Thank you for your understanding.

RE: Trade not as described
I am sorry you are having a problem with another RCU member. If the other person shipped something in a condition other than promiced, they should pay the return shipping. However, this is something you will need to negotiate with that person.

The description and photos from older ads are removed to help control storage space on the servers. Unfortunately, the only option is to re-enter the description and upload new photos.

RE: Unauthorized Charge
I'm sorry you are having a problem with your marketplace ad. Please understand the site cannot charge you for an option you did not choose. Charges can only occur if you select an option when you create your ad. Also note that all charges are detailed for your review at the bottom of Step 5 prior to you submitting your ad. If you see a charge you did not expect, you must edit your ad to correct it before submitting the ad. I have sent a refund request to our accounting department and will let you know as soon as they inform me it has been completed.

RE: Feedback
I fully underestand your frustration. It is difficult to establish a presence on a site when other members will not afford you the same consideration you offer them. However, we cannot force members to post feedback. One suggestion I can offer which may help is that you notify those you complete transactions with that you will leave them feedback only if they leave you feedback first. In this way, they have an incentive to post a rating on your account.

RE: trade?
As I have stated in this forum many times in the past, trades are extremely risky. These transactions require absolute trust by both sides. Neither party has any easy recourse to recover thier item should the other party fail to follow through. All you can do is file a complaint using the form linked at the bottom of the Ratings & Security page in the marketplace. If they still refuse to make good on their promise, then we will suspend their account. However, if that happens, you will still be on your own as far as trying to recover your item and your only option may be to file a case through small claims court.

RE: trade?
How long you wait is up to you, but keep in mind the longer you wait, the lower your chance of recovering your item. Have you tried to call the other person using the phone number listed on the invoice?

RE: pics not working on safari
Can you provide links to specific ads you are seeing the behavior on? I looked at several ads with Safari ver 5.1.7 and could not reproduce what you describe. As far as the rest of the site, I am afraid I cannot comment as you have not provided any specifics. There have been some reports of problems uploading photos and the occasional problem with an error displayed when an ad is posted, but aside from this, the frequency of reports of problems being seen on the site are very low. FWIW, I have been in this capacity with RCUniverse for more than 8 years and while there have been several periods of performance problems, the last several months have been quite stable overall.

RE: Ok im fighting with a Member over a trade we did
When you filed your complaint, you were sent an email explaining what the complaint resolution process. In that email, it stated you and the other person are responsible for resolving the problem. If it is determined by our staff that the other person has violated the site rules, we may, at our discretion, suspend their account. However, because we are moderators and not mediators, we cannot and will not become involved in the complaint resolution process. Again, that is yours and theirs responsibility.

RE: Ok im fighting with a Member over a trade we did
Please remember that all transactions, and any dispute that may unfortunately arise from them, are to be handled between those directly involved in it. The forums are not to be used to air grievances or report complaints. Trades are always the highest risk type transaction because there is no real recourse available to you other than to file a complaint in small claims court. You and the other person negotiated a trade. That trade needs to either be completed as agreed upon, or both parties should consider the option of returning the items to their original owners in the exact condition as received.

RE: The SCAMMERS Conquer RCU
I understand why you feel the existing implementation may be a bit unintuitive, but this is the system we have had in place since the site took on this format several years ago. I can also assure you that we receive reports of individual activities within an ad several times a day. Those reports come in large part from the people who placed the ad. It would therefore seem the membership in general understands to use the existing tool to report problems with other members. Note there is an Other option within the tool which provides a free text report of any problem not specifically called out in the other options presented.

RE: The SCAMMERS Conquer RCU
The tool I circled is the one you would use to report a member, or an ad, or any other problem activity going on within the ad. It is best to have these tools located within the ad itself so that our staff will know exactly where to go to investigate a reported problem. If you were to report a member through an account page, we would then have to go on a hunt to try and find the problem activity in question.

RE: The SCAMMERS Conquer RCU
We are aware of the scammers who joined recently and have banned those who have been reported using the "Report Ad to Moderator" tool available in every ad. Scammers are present on every site with a discussion and/or buy and sell area. We have a number of tools in place to help weed through many of their attempts to register accounts, but there is no way to prevent them all from creating accounts. Even sites which require new members to provide a valid credit card are infiltrated by those with the determination to do so.
