RE: Corpus Christi,TX Clubs?
Alan, it's not a bad idea, it's just expensive. Getting a club together is one thing,( I am currently the vice-president of ARCA here in Austin), finding the cash for a 6-700ft. paved runway without the help of the city or county is another.......

RE: Corpus Christi area Jet fields?
Dan, can I borrow your F-18 for the inaugural flight out at the Air Station? I may have to leave the airfield quickly and I don't want to leave my F-16 behind! Jack

Corpus Christi area Jet fields?
Are there any fields in the Corpus Christi,TX area that are suitable for turbines? I am moving from the Austin area to Corpus and so far I haven't been able to find anywhere to fly down there. Jack Lewis ARCA

RE: Corpus Christi,TX Clubs?
Wow, this is depressing. I figured that a town as large as Corpus would have at least one good field. I fly turbines and giant scale warbirds mostly, so it seems I am out of luck. Thanks for the input guys!

Corpus Christi,TX Clubs?
It looks like I will be migrating from Austin to Corpus Christi soon and I am trying to find a place to fly. Where is there to fly in the Corpus Christi and surrounding area? I don't see anything listed on the AMA site. I know we have several people who come up for our events, so there must be somewhere to fly.... Jack Lewis ARCA

RE: TBM DV8R anyone have one or about too?
Does anyone have a spare canopy they want to get rid of? I would like a clear one, but a black one will do. I have gone through two already, they crack or deform if you look at them wrong! I ordered a replacement from TBM, and they charged me over half of what the canopy cost to ship it, and then it came with a crack already in it. I may have to build a balsa replacement like John did. I am re-covering my DV8R at the moment (this one used to be NoahB's (Larry)) Great flying plane!

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
It is a Jtec. www.jtecrc.com They make them custom to fit in the cowl. Works great!
What muffler did you used to get it all in the cowl? Cut my cowl up pretty good due to useing Bennent side mount. Knew that going in, had the muffler. Mine 62 is magneto, only battery I have to move back would be for RX. I will probably glue in weight this weekend. Thanks for the replies.
RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
Here is mine with a G-62. Relocated the carb to the rear and it is electronic ignition. No cutouts in the cowl. I moved my battery back and had to add a fair amount of lead in the tail to balance. I made the lead removeable in order to fine tune it. Flys great and lands very nicely.

RE: Fly Eagle 1/6 scale F-16 Build Thread
When setting up the horizontals, make sure you use the 8 long screws (4 in each bracket) that go all the way through the brackets. Mine were supplied with short screws already installed, and 8 long screws in a bag that you will actually use during the installation.

RE: Fly Eagle 1/6 scale F-16 Build Thread
When I mounted the rudder servo, I used the supplied ball links on one end and used H9 ball links on the other end, in place of the normal links. This gives the linkage a nice slop-free feel.

RE: Fly Eagle 1/6 scale F-16 Build Thread
Here is the thread on recommended distance: www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8341245/anchors_8351347/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#8351347 I will probably just screw them down, as it is easier to access the rear fuel tanks with the rails removed. The location of the pipe is fixed, so the turbine had to be moved forward in order to keep the correct distance to the bellmouth. The bypass will have to be cut down and modified somewhat in order to fit. No big deal, really.

RE: Fly Eagle 1/6 scale F-16 Build Thread
Here are a few shots of how I had to modify the engine mount rails and the bypass in order to get the Rhino installed with the recommended distance between the turbine and bell mouth (1.5"). I also used maple blocks for the engine mount rail blocks and the pipe mounting blocks.
