RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread-
Hi guys, its been a long time since ive posted on here, mainly because ive not had the time to even drive my car. Right the last time i drove my jato it ended up (after a good hour of bashing) taking a tumble craching the top plate at the screw fixing point and ripping the EZ start motor out of its housing. I know not major damage, i can replace those and change to a pullstart to shed some weight. This isnt my problem.... its my stupidity and lazyness that has got me worried because i took it home and boxed it away without any after run procedure. In case your wondering, that was a year ago and i am thinking that if after i replace the necessary broken parts that i wont get the 3.3 running again. This car has been run less than 10 times since 2008 when i bought it new to last year when i f*cked it. If i do need a replacement can anyone suggest a suitable yet slightly cheaper replacement bearing in mind that im not really looking to add any extra power to it. Any maintenance tips on how to refurbish my 3.3 would be great, please mention any necessary tools that i would benefit from though. Thanks guys p.s. feel free to hurl some abuse for treating such an engine with such little respect, I promise i wont do it again.

Oh forgot to mention, It would run if I left in the glow starter, could this mean that I need to put in a new glow plug, bearing in mind this was a brand new heavy duty traxxas one.

Got my jato going last week, maneged about 30mis of off road run around, then it suddenly got to a point where it would loose power and cut out the moment I pushed down on the throttle. What is the most likley cause of this?

RE: Official Traxxas Jato 3.3 Thread
Hi guys, got a problem, well actually two. 1) I bought a new ez start moror and ez harness to replace my old ones (damaged) fitted it, seems to work... well it spins the motor anyway but does not work on the glow plug which is also brand new, got 4 plugs of which none work with the EZstart but do with the glow starter. 2) I primed my engine too long, so I followed the procedure as normal but no fuel came out of the engine, put the glow plug back, tried again but it still seems to be flooded. Just to give you an idea of the condition of my jato, its a year and a half old and has been driven no more than 5 times from new, Stupid me crashed it in final part of break in, replaced the rear suspension arm, next time gave it a v.good run apart from the collision with the curb (cracking the bulk head and partially damaged top chassis), Third drive took Very long to get the engine going (its probably not used to being run) once going it was fine till battery for reciever run low, Took home and forgot to do after run procedure, (I know what your thinking, this guy should not have a nitro car) I really do love them despite how it may sound. Anyway since then I just can't get it going. Please Please Help.

RE: Official Traxxas Jato 3.3 Thread
Im no expert when it comes to rc cars, hense the reason im making this post. Got a problem with my Jato 3.3 and hope there's someone that can help. Today I took my Jato out for a spin, well tried anyway, spent about 5 mins tryna get the engine fired up but once i did, i pushed down on the accelerstion and there was a loss of power and the the engine cut out. Repeated this about 5 - 10 times but same problem. Have had this car about a year and a half and has been driven less than 10 times, I remember fiddling with the high speed needle and the ilde needle and dont think i tuned the car correctly. Also When i checked the glow plug its not glowing when i press the EZ start button. I remember the time before last when i drove the car it took a while to get the engine going. I remember seeing a bit of smoke coming from the EZ start motor. Finally..... If this will help you work out my problem, when the car is on the exhaust seems to give off a hell of alot of smoke . Will be grateful if someone can shed some light on this problem.

HoBao and OFNA... Whats the Difference
Ive been thinking for a while now weather to buy a Hobao hyper 7 of or 8.5 (depending on how much money I have) or a Kyosho Inferno MP7.5. Q1. Is there a Difference between OFNA and HoBao? Q2. Should I go for an MP7.5 or a Hyper 7 or 8.5? Please Help.

RE: jato 3.3
They are two completely different cars, depends what and where you plan to drive ur new nitro. Mainly off-road and bumpy areas - Savage Flat ground and tarmac - Jato 3.3 (but make sure you find a big enough area cos if this car had wings it would take off in a second) Speed, acelleration - Jato 3.3 Torque and durability - Savage Lots of hop-ups for Jato, haven't checked out Savage but like ''vote4nitro'' said save up a bit more and get the 5.9 xl, its a beast that will turn alot of heads Want my opinion I'd get a savage, cos Jato is a bit too tricky for me to control

RE: [URGENT] Jato 3.3 supercharger
Fair point but I still wouldn't risk it, just buy a .21 tm and a buku power pipe. But if your gonna put this much extra power into a Jato 3.3 (which is already brutally fast) I would definatly invest in the best roll cage I can find, any other hop-ups you can afford then go for it. If you do let us know how it turns out.

yea there is one available but the price difference is only £20 less than the .28. That is about $40. So keeping that in mind should I still go with the .28
