RE: CEN matrix???
I havent TOTALLY broken in my engine yet, so far the RTR engine is hard to start with the pullstart(tons of compression) and my starterbox currently not functioning properly leaves me in hiatus. The CEN Matrix RTR buggy in my opinion is one of the best out there even compared to PRO kits: 1. As an RTR it comes with THICK 7075 aluminum chassis, shock towers, radio plate and so forth. 2. As an RTR it comes with a MX3-FM radio, definitely NOT a throw away radio like most RTR's. 3. ROBUST Plastic parts like the A-arms. 4. HUGE Shock absorbers. *I am not discouraged of the fact that the stock engine is a pain in the ass to break-in or tune because it might be just that I'm not experienced with Nitro engines, BUT the FACT remains that the REST OF THE CAR IS OF HIGH QUIALITY. Name a stock RTR other than the GS Storm CL1 pro RTR that comes with ROBUST 7075 alloy parts coming in stock as RTR, I think there is none. That is why I think the CEN Matrix RTR is already ahead of the pack just by this criteria alone.

RE: CEN Matrix RTR engine break-in questions
Hi Matty, anew problem arose my OFNA Chrome top suddenly stops working sunday morning, then last night I decided to remove the wiring from the on/off switch and battery then when I connected them back again the motor runs without me turning it on or not applying any pressure on the "engaging spring" for it to turn on. So now I think might buy a new on/off switch and that other "engaging Spring thing". I tried to use the pull satrter last night and it's to no avail, it started three times but cuts off eventually:( I need my OFNA chrome top running, I'm not breaking in this thing without a starter box, it's gonna drive me crazy[:(]

I need Help on my OFNA Chrome Top
Last Saturday night my OFNA Chrome Top was working perfectly fine when I was breaking-in my CEN Matrix RTR, then Sunday morning it would no longer start. Tonight I removed the two wires from the on/off switch and removed the wires going to the 12v battery. Instaling them back again I installed the wires to the on/off switch first(it's currently off) then when I was intsalling the wires to the 12v battery next it started running even though the switch is currently off. What is wrong with my starter box? Should I replace my on/off switch? I really need help it's almost impossible to start My Matrix engine without this starter box.

RE: CEN Matrix RTR engine break-in questions
ORIGINAL: mattyb13 Hey there, My .02 is that the Matrix has a LOT of compression and all the same things freaked me out at first when I got my buggy and started break in. After almost a gallon my car idles pretty good. On startup it wants to creep just a little. Thats where I like it. DOGMAN helped me with MANY of the same questions. DOGMAN, now if you could just open a legit hobby shop near my house so didnt have to order so much stuff online I'd be set! So frustrating. I need $4 aluminum servo arm and I cant find a hobby shop within hours that carrys them!!! UGH!
Hi Matty, I'm actually enjoying break-in even though It's quite a pain in the hands[:D] I finally started the engine in my Matrix after almost 2 years on the shelf. The only problem I have right now is where I could continue breaking-in my buggy yesterday me and my wife went to Saltwater beach park which is about 20 minute drive from our apt. and I'm scared it might annoy some of the park goers there because of the noise. I can't definitely do it here in our apt. complex vicinity, It's just hard we don't have any offroad RC tracks around here[:o]

RE: CEN Matrix RTR engine break-in questions
ORIGINAL: The Real Dogman Hey Jay(I just love saying that) The idle stop screw could be turned in to far and causing your engines rpm's to be abit high, but on some trucks when you have them off the ground the wheels will spin just abit due to the lack of resistance in the drive train. If when you set it on the ground and your truck wants to kreep forward then your idle is too high

CEN Matrix RTR engine break-in questions
During break-in this evening I noticed how incredible the compression of this engine is. My OFNA Chrome top can't even crank this engine without me having to loosen up the glow plug a bit. Is this normal? But if I keep the glow plug loose I noticed some fuel coming out of the cooling head hole where the glow plug is, so I tighten it afterwards the engine dies. My wheels are turning quite a bit even though I'm not applying any pressure to the throttle is this normal? How do I keep this from happening? I'm currently using the needle settings in the CEN website: Top end: 3-3.5 turns out Bottom end: 4.5-5 turns out Midrange: Flush with silver carb housing. Thanks in advance

RE: MATRIX buggy PICS anyone?
Thanks Matty! I'm definitely going to be seeking advice from you, I got it here: http://www.rgxracing.com/clearbodiespage.html It's basically a RGX made body for a Mugen MBX5R and fits the Matrix perfectly. Yup I had them paint the body for me I'm too inexperienced and lazy to do it[:D] When I bought it the body was 15 bucks I think and the single color scheme is 5 bucks, this was last year May 2006. take care.

RE: MATRIX buggy PICS anyone?
Hi Matty! On the gunmetal, it's by RGX. The blue is by JConcepts for Mugen, painted by my Bro. I'm a newbie with Nitro's and probably be seeking advice from you when I start breakin in my Matrix. I personally like the JConcepts more because of the unqiue shape it has, though I think the RGX fits easier. take care.

I've just assembled my OFNA Chrome top following the instructions for Drawing 1(the one with the 12v battery inside the starter box). My problem is when I try to attach the wires to the battery connector it SPARKS, what did I do wrong? Sorry the pic that I attached is next to useless:( I can't foucs it properly. By the way I am using the Hobbico 12v Acid CA battery.
ORIGINAL: hkenvy91 thats funny they must hire people from the same place! the hobbytown near me is garbage!!! they only care about planes and monster trucks. never any buggy parts. ive gottin to the point that i only pick up fuel and plugs from them. on a good note is i found hobby shop an hour and a half from me that is like an rc supermarket!, they have tons of stuff and an excellent track. we were out there this past saturday runnin on the track and the owner came out to say hi to us. we are new there. well lets just say he bent over backwards to hook us up on stuff at super cheap prices.i ended up picking up some crimefighter m2's ,rims, and a wing. he gave me the crimefighters cheaper than intenet too <$15 a set>im gonna start doin business there along with a-main hobbies online.
You're lucky to have a Hobbyshop that actually cares for the customers, I'm a newbie specially to nitro's and would be very happy to have hobbyshop owners or salesperson helping me out . I guess I gotta have to look around the King county area for a good hobbyshop. Thanks to all you guys who responded to my post.

flywheel wrench=unknown
I went to our local Hobby Town to buy an OFNA flywheel wrench yesterday and when I asked a sales associate he told me "I don't know what you're talking about". I was just a lil bit surprised because I thought that the OFNA flywheel wrench was a bit popular especially for nitro RC and this guy who is suppose to know this stuff was clueless and IMO was very unhelpful for not even bothering to ask his other associate. Same thing happened to me a couple of months back when I was looking for Proline decals on the same store when I asked an associate he told me they did not have any, only to find out they did have Kinda saddening how can we get motivated to help or support our LHS if they're not even helpful or friendly to begin with, I guess I might just even buy my nitro fuel online now.
