RE: My parkzone HABU
Got this for Christmas flew it 3 time today and I must say this is a great EDF jet for any first timer moving up from a trainer or a T-28. I love what E-flight / Horizon has done with R/C with all the BNF / PNP planes they have released. The battery speed control motor fan combo is perfect for what it is, everyone would like to have more speed , but the plane tracks and flys great. Landings are gental and slow, but it will eat up some airspace when you want it to. If I was going to make it faster I would drop a Hoffman Magnetic motor or EDF in it, with 4 pounds of thust on a 46oz plane vertical would be unlimited. As far as 3D good luck kyleandtavion with the hovering because it won't happen until you install the exhaust vectoring, but please post the video of your attempts I would like to see how well the airframe handles the crash LOL. I was getting well over 6 minutes on the flights, but I did cycle the battery before the first flight. One other club member had his out today also and there was a difference in the speed, mine was a few MPH faster for some reason than his, so that may be one of the reasons some seem slower. I also gave it the vertical full throttle dive had pull out at the bottom and it handled it, I wanted to test the strength of the stabs LOL. I plan on keeping it stock and enjoying it.

RE: TOWER HOBBIES SUCKS!!!!
I have stopped shopping with them due to the overwhellming delay in shipping, I get merchandice from China quicker than Tower. I will never use them again. I even paid for overnight shipping and it took 5 days and no refund was given after hours of arguing on the phone. I wouldn't say they suck, but the shipping and customer service is well below average. They used to be good before computers and automation.

RE: FX3D-2009 Jacksonville Florida
Thanks for posting, I have had so many good comments about this event I can't believe it. I can't tell you how much fun it was, you'll just have to show up and see for yourself. We are getting more sponsors and prizes as the days go by. Cash donations are already rolling in. You don't have to be the best 3D pilot to fly, everyone gets out there and just does his own thing. We gave pilot prizes out all three days, the sponsors were crazy with donations. This is defenatly the event to put on your 2009 schedule. RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
I found a good map for you guys, if you’re coming from the South you may want to take 295 all the way up due to the construction in town on 95, coming from the North once you pass the airport exit the next one is 295. I will post the signs at the Lem Turner exit off of 295 just so you know your on the right track.

Here is a picture of the field, it is a E-W direction of landing not perfectly E-W but close. The picture is configured so North is pointed up.

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
Well Huckineers, It’s getting close, sponsors have stepped up to the plate, we have some killer pilot prizes, amazing raffle prizes, I mean when have you ever heard of round trip airline tickets as a raffle prize at a flying event? I will have to make 2 trips to the field to unload all the stuff. All you guys coming from the North, from the West, and the South is amazing and we can't thank you enough for participating in the threads. We are going to have a great time and I'm looking forward to meeting you all. We are expecting some of the best 3D pilots in the country. Not to mention how great it is to have so much fun, make new friends, possibly win a prize or two, and support a great charity (children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund). Our club (Gatewayrc.org) which is holding the event has a very rich history (40+ years) and has a very nice facility. We were also the location of last year’s Winter Festival of Giants, the 2007 IMAC Regional’s, and many other pattern, IMAC, helicopter, and fun-fly events. The members at Gateway are always about having a good time, while flying their butts off, without sacrificing safety. The chumminess of our club from young to old is the best I have ever experienced. We have a 400 foot paved and grass runway (for the harrier landings) and enough open airspace for any type of flying. I can’t wait to see all those smiling faces doing rudder covering ripping tail touches, back breaking blenders, mind blowing waterfalls, stab snapping parachutes, and air stopping walls or just boring holes in the sky like the rest of us. One of the best events of the year is FX3D, don’t miss it. If you have any questions feel free to email me at jecarte@bellsouth.net.

No promises on the Yak, I've been working late everyday at my real job, and FX3D is cutting into the build time. Speaking of which, I just got boxes from 2 sponsors, these guys are great, I wish I was a pilot instead of the CD, you guys are going to make out big time.

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
Hey Guys a question was asked about the best route to take from the South when coming to FX3D. We have lots of construction on I95 so I recommend taking I295 North which will take you on the West side of Jacksonville, and your exit is Lem Turner, at the end of the ramp take a left. Guys from the North you will take I295 South off of I95, Lem Turner will be the second exit and you will turn right at the end of the ramp. Remember we have plenty of room for camping, no hook ups though. If you would like to hit a camp ground we have a very nice facility just 10 minutes from the field http://www.flamingol/ake.com and they have dump stations so on your way out Sunday you can dump before getting on the road.

RE: FX3D! Who's comin' and wacha bringin'!
ORIGINAL: Richard D Bahmann aka/RDB Saito, how are you going to handle the Futaba Fasst pilots. Any special procedures. I know I will be flying one and the possibility of a shoot down with a zero guid unit worries me. There is a thread here over in the radios batteries clubhouse forum about it. I really liked the way you ran you impound last February and hope you include all x-mitters to maintain positive control. I was on 72 mh at that point and the 2.4 is brand new to me. Please advise. Richard
We are planning to impound all transmitters for a couple of reasons, one of the main reasons is as you mentioned above and also everytime you return from a flight and return your transmitter you will get a pilots raffle ticket, the more you fly the more chances you will have to win. I know one of the advantages of the new 2.4 systems is not having to worry about impounding, but with the turn out we are expecting its better to be safe than sorry.

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
We are NOT ruling out helos!! Helos are welcome, if you can 3D a blimp then bring it. We understand many 3D guys have helos too (everyone has their faults). Just remember 3D guys are a tuff crowd, if you bring a helo and DON'T 3D it, we will have to ask you to leave or work transmitter impound. [:D][:D][:D] Just kidding

No, but I did have my camera, I should have taken pictures of Dougs Aeroworks 260, I can't believe the tail snapped off of it in flight. Those planes should handle those kind of stresses.

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
Thats the beauty of this event, you don't have to be huckin on the deck to have fun, Flyin Hawaiian and the guys can show you a few moves and maybe give you some pointers on bringing it on the deck. If a 110 Rascal can hover I'm sure we can get one of your planes to do it. Yes we are doing as much advertising as we can. We are almost done with the new Flyer and the list of sponsors is growing.

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
There will be a new flyer in the next day or two, we are finalizing the charity we have planned to contribute to for the event, and sponsors are lining up quicker than we can change the flyer. I hope all you guys from up North will make the trip down to test out those winter 3D projects. Rumor has it we may see some new prototypes coming out of the wood work (no pun intended).

RE: Florida Huckfest Fly-in! Are you in?
LANPC, The gateway club would be a killer place to have a Huckfest we would need to make sure the date doesn't conflict with the IMAC schedule since many of the IMAC guys come to the Huckfest events. It could be a 3 day event since most guys show on Friday anyway. Its not really a judged event but give aways would be great. Lets do it I'll help since I'm not much of a 3D guy. Closer to winter would be better so we could drag some snowbirds down from up north. No size requirements so all the small 3D planes could come also.
