Frank, did you want to get there early to start drinking with Eric or do you really want to fly something besides putting the bed in the truck to the spin test again?

RE: Funny how things change....
ORIGINAL: ww2birds Great post. I did a Reaction as a first turbine, with a Wren 54SS. I've been in the hobby a pretty long time. Lots of heavy warbird time. The Reaction IS a great trainer, but your points are well taken .. it is almost TOO easy to fly. My first thought was ''this is like a KAOS with a turbine!''. It remains a favorite sport jet now ... it does not get boring. I have 130 flights on her. I assumed I'd learn with it and sell it. Now, I'm not only not selling it, I am going to build another one with some of the popular ''bashes'' to make it a super sport flyer and a little jazzier. Second jet is a Yellow F-15 with a Wren 160. A big step indeed as you say .. and what I know about flying the F-15 is much more influenced by the heavy metal warbirds experience than the Reaction, but that plane did make me confident in the installation and handling of the turbines. Jet #3 is a Yellow F-18 twin with a Behotec 180... shooting for a maiden this fall. As so many others I wonder often ''should I just sell off all the prop stuff ...'' - these jets are just too cool! Dave
Dave, I guess its partly my fault that you have this jet addiction. I should have never brought any of my jets to Mahopac ! Don
ORIGINAL: Socomon When you guys are doing you assemblies, are you going back over all the accessible factory glue joints in the airframe with Hysol/epoxy or do the factory joints seem adequate?
This plane flys fine stock. No extra glue needed. I put almost 5 hours on the plane with the p60 wide open most of the time. Like some one else said here, just go fly the plane and dont over build it.

I have the same problem. Im thinking about pinning the spar so it cant shift from side to side. I think this is an oversight in the manufaturing process. Maybe Alan has a qiuck fix.

Pete, get a job you got way too much time on your hands. I have no doubt you will rebuild that Barf. If you really want to show us what you can do call up Len and have him send you some of that dust from his reaction 54. Maybe you can clone it and grow new parts. Then I will personally send you one of those hard hats they wear at FBF in Brooklyn ! Don

RE: New England Jet Rally 2009 Event Info
Chris, lets be more specific when you talk about who wimped out. Not all the guys from New York wimped out, myself and guys like Bob L,Frank Alvarez and Larry Johnson are from NY and we showed up. The wimps are from the Long Island area of NY, you can pick them out at the field any day. There the ones with the bibles in there hands and wearing hard hats in the pits. Maybe we should not call them wimps, maybe there just scared of getting wet or something more politicaly correct. Good thing Maine was cancelled or we would be here talking about who didnt go to Maine cause there afraid of the lobsters![:D]

RE: *** Roll Call- 4th Annual New England Jet Rally***
Hey, I'm packed too. We have way too much stuff in the trailer but I had to stop at the hardware store anyway and pick up a roll of plastic caution fence to put around the food table for Saturday night. Dominic (AKA Spuds) called tonight to ask what to bring to the potluck dinner, of course I suggested his favorite mashed potatos. Before I could even say could you put a little garlic in there for the rest of us he said you aint gettin none. Well Ive been down this road before with the potato hoarding guy from Peabody ! So be on the look out for a large guy from MA with a sack of potatos and only ONE fork.[:D]

Andy who ? Is he that traveling amish farmer who works out of his buggy ? My guess is that you got corn silk or tree bark in your RX. I aint sayin how it got there but you gotta be careful cause the stuff just creeps up out of no where! [:D] I put one of those emotec booster in line with the 6014 and it cured any problems with electronic valves.

RE: How was Capital Jets '09 ??
Frank, I think next year we will have to make a sacraficial offering to the spirts that inhabit South Albany. I think they where pissed off from listening to the one smoking , make you puke and go deaf ducted fan model that showed up this year ( Jeff we better not have this problem at Gardner[:D]) Im offering up all of my nasty and well abused ducted fan parts and we can put them in a 55 gallon drum with a couple of gallons of Jet A. Well even if I the spirts dont leave, It will probably kill some of the misquitos with the N numbers on them ! The frogs in our part of the swamp, ( pits) we so over fed from all of the flying buggers that when we left on Sunday they were marching down the road to the nearest Jenny Craig. The good thing about the frogs is that they where so loud at night it helped to drown out the noise from train yard. I swear they put the new guys on at night over there at CSX . Did you notice as soon as the night shift started it sounded like a moster truck demalition derby! Next year Im going to get me a pair of those made in Canada ear plugs that Jim Brown uses at night. Despite the fact that a few of us went home a little battered and bruised we had a great time as always at Capital Jets. Oh and I almost forgot that when you go to a jet rally in the north east no matter what kind of day you or your plane had , there is always the happy hour to look forward too put on by the JPC. As always they did a great job too ! Now if we could only get Lesher to go along with the program, maybe we could stretch it a little bit and include his event as a NE event. I know he wants to have the massage girls come this year instead of the chicken barbaque and Im all for it , but it would just be better after of few of the drinks from the honda powered blender! See you all at Liberty Bell in a few weeks. Don
