RE: P-60 - Won't spool up after start
Had same issue with "new fuel". Determined new fuel had water in it preventing turbine from spooling up. Replaced with fresh fuel, from a different source & problem went away. Art

RE: CD Waiver Sign-off... The Best Propeller Plane for the Test?
Tony, Looks like there's a need for more turbine pilots and CD's in the thumb area of Michigan. Unfortunately I'm about 3 hours away, but I'ld be glad to help anyway I could. I know there are some turbine pilots that fly closer to you than those in the metro Detroit area. If you haven't contacted those waiver holders that are closer to you, I'ld recommend that you do. I'm sure they would be happy to work with you if you could arrange mutually acceptable dates and places to meet. I know a handful fly at the Sandusky airport. I used to fly there occasionally (when I lived on the east side). The Flying Pilgrims in Canton, MI are having their fun fly Sept 11-13th. There are at least a half dozen turbine guys that will be at that event. PM me if you want more info or thoughts on how to best proceed. We'ld love to have you get your turbine waiver and enjoy an awesome aspect of this hobby! And then assist others in your area to do the same . . . Regards, Art Gajewski

RE: Wavers?
I agree with Bob & Gordon. As a person signing on the bottom line, I need to be reasonably satisfied that what I'm attesting to is true and accurate. If I need the pilot to do a few more/different maneuvers, so be it. Not one person has ever objected. I've only failed 2 people and the reasons were obvious flying capability deficiencies. No arguments from them either! Usually, it's a no brainer, but when it's not so clear, I will ask for more than what's recommended. I like to see accurate take-offs & landings too with a jet (DF or turbine). Art Gajewski

RE: Best Retracts for Baby Boomerang
Using Robart 500 series with 7/16 robostruts on the mains and a 3/8 strut on the nose. 116 flights. http://robart.com/retracts/8-18lb550.aspx Initial issue was the main gear mount blocks ripped out. Way too flimsy of a lock-in feature to withstand the stiffness of these struts. I reinforced the main gear plates and reinforced the "firewall" to make sure it stays locked in. No problems since that was all worked out by the 10th flight or so.

RE: Bandit Speed Brake
Joe, I use crow on my jets and the impact is not noticeable drag, but lower landing speeds. The planes tend to NOT bounce upon landing with crow. I agree with you to build the airbrake in now and if you decide not to use it, no harm done. I have the speed brake plans from my T33 if you'ld like to see those. Otherwise the Bandit details above look pretty good.

RE: 10X Trim Memory Function?
I understand that. My question pertains to zeroing out graphic sliders that show where the trim is set at. For instance, the aileron trim graphic shows right trim. I would like have it show no trim, so at a glance, I can tell if I've moved it accidentally prior to a flight. I guess that can not be done. Correct? Regards, Art G

Converted from a 10SX to a 10 X and am looking for a trim memory function where after trimming a plane, the (Ail, EL & Rud) settings can be stored and re-set the trim indicators (on the main screen) to zero. Does this capability exist with the 10X? Thanks in advance. Art G

RE: Source for Carbon Fiber Sleeves
The CF rods with titanium inserts work perfectly. I use them & we have sold thousands with ZERO complaints. If properly assembled, they are flawless. Our 3/16" tubes fit well over the 4-40 thread, if you want to go that route. Same web page as above, different pull down selection.

RE: ARF Long EZ .46 Pusher wht jj1200
A flyer in our club converted a Velocity pusher ARF to turbine power. He's using a Mamba turbine. My impression is that it's not a smooth flyer. I think the wing is probably designed for lower speeds so it hops around in the air like it's on an uneven bumpy road. OTH - I like when folks try something different.
