LVC IC PCB for 5S Lipo
Any of you guys know where to buy a LVC for a 5S lipo? I have several lipos for various RC's that I have like the ERBE, Rustler, MCPX, Align 450, etc, etc. My 1.2A Ni CD batteries recently died in my B&D 18V drill so I decided to replace the Ni-CD with a 5S 40C 1.8A lipo. This is cheaper than buying a new NI CD battery. This way I can use my 400W 20A lipo charger to recharge this battery along with all my other ones. Re-soldered the wires in the housing to the adapter and the leads to the lipo and works great. I also have a lipo LED volt meter/alarm as well that shows the voltage and alarms me when the lipo gets around to 3V per cell or in my specific case around 15V. Obviously since I have no ESC to program the LVC to, I cant seem to find a (I)integrated (C)circuit to buy for a 5S lipo. I just want something that will cut off the power completely to the drill instead of having to constantly look or hear for the alarm. Im surprised Im having a difficult time finding a product to fit the above description. Thanks for any help. I have seen some that built a IC PCB for this issue but not for an 18.5 lipo.

RE: Which Iron ?
Ive been using this butane one for a few months now. Lasts long and can go anywhere. Ready to solder from off to on in ≈ 30 seconds. Adjustable Watts range from 30 to 70 watts. I really like it and for about 20 bucks its hard to beat. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062753

Erevo Erbe Air Vent = Temp Down
Im sure you guys have seen many people impale their rc bodies to allow more airflow to the electronics. Im no different and wanted a cooler motor and esc. Im running 18/54, 6S 5A 40C and all bashing. Had some left over fiberglass window screen mesh from another project and CA glue to attach the mesh to the body. Probably going to plasti dip the esc in the near future as well. Currently run with the outerwear shroud. The vent in the back allows air out and also doubles to allow me to plug unplug the wires without removing the body. I dont always have enough time to make a full run so this works well for me. Plus I hate body clips. Also put some mesh on the esc fan to help keep debris out of the fan and heat sink. It really helps keep the temperature down on the electronics.

RE: 3.8 Hard Compund Tires for Bashing
They look good. I ad the trenchers on my rustler vxl a while back and mounted them on the stock wheels. They are a good tire. For my erevo I'm looking more for the stock size that they come with. I like the balance between speed and off road. The stock talons are good, just too soft for my liking, espically on 6s. Thats why I'm leaning on the badlands 3.8 and just mount them to the stock wheel.

RE: 3.8 Hard Compund Tires for Bashing
Nice info guys. However, Im looking for a tire that is close to the original in size. I think the badlands by proline are the closest. Going to use the stock traxxas rims and stick these tires on them. Only problem is I'm not sure of the compound, tower says xtr and proline says m2. Any of you guys run those or do you know what compound?

3.8 Hard Compund Tires for Bashing
My new ERBE needs some new shoes. I run mostly off road bashing style on 6S with 18/54 gearing. Looking for a hard compound tire. Not finding very many choices. Any of you guys running a hard compound tire? I don't care what name brand, as long as they are a hard compound.

RE: How to balance rc tire
Thanks for the tips guys. I wound up just balancing the wheels using one of the axles on the truck. Removed the yoke from the tranny and took off a e clip so the stub axle would spin freely on the bearings. Shimmed them and balanced them. I did use the same axle to balance all 4 wheels. Thanks for the tips though. I also used plumbers putty i.e. sta put. Works great and still holding 2 weeks later. In order to get the tires to stop in random spots was a little tricky. But well worth the effort because now it rides great, no vibrations, and tracks perfectly.

Erevo Erbe bashing 6S 18/54
Just curious how many of you guys are bashing the ERBE with 18/54 gearing with 6S or 22.2 Volts? I only run the 6S and it is awesome offroad. Had the 65 spur and wanted a little more offroad speed. Put in the 54 spur and it gives me about another 10 mph. Traxxas Castle gearing chart doesn't recommend this gear ratio on 6S. Im not having any temp issues but just wanted to see if any of you guys are running this setup in your rig.

RE: Peer pressure made me buy a EREVO
Hey thanks. Im happy to say Ive had it for a few days and nothing has broke. I must be doing something wrong. I am running 6S 5A 40C Zippy Flight Max lipos; Little bit of work to make them fit but very good for the price. Ive got the settings dialed down to 50% for forward, brake, reverse, and punch so my wife can get used to it. Thats probably why we have not crashed it yet.

How to balance rc tire
tire is on the balancer. find the heavy and light spot. Add putty to the light spot. Then what ? Keep adding or removing putty til: 1. The tire keeps spinning in one direction only and never pendulams back the opposite way. 2. The light spot ends at the 3 or 9 o'clock position. 3. The light spot ends in random spots throughout the whole wheel. So is it 1, 2 ,or 3? thanks for any help on this.

very nice truck foxy. Yeah the specs seem good at 40C. According to hobby king they are 145x50x27mm. That should be a great fit for the erevo. I believe the erbe battery dimensions are 150mm x 50mm x 30mm.

RE: Biggest 3S Lipos where are they
You guessed right LaTuFu. Im used to flying my helis and the sticks are where it is at for me and my wife. I bought a Rustler VXL about a year ago now and posted on here how me and my wife tried to use the pistol grip and didnt like it. Arent you also on traxxas.com. I read a lot of good posts on there as well. In fact I was recently reading mistercrash thread i think was his name, and those mods he did in his 50 page thread was awesome. By far the most detailed thread on any vehicle Ive ever read. Ill give your advice a shot, I dont know much about SPC but found these on his site : [link=http://www.spcracing.com/index.php?productID=113]SPC Li-Po Power, Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Battery Pack; 5000mAh, 25C, 3S, 11.1V[/link] . Not bad for the price plus comes with the traxxas connectors which is a nice touch. Id like something a little bigger though around maybe 6A and a higher C discharge. However since I have no batteries at all with the erevo I better order something before it gets here. Wanted to get 3s nano tech 25c but on back order. Cant even get the zippys as theyre on backorder too. Im assuming as long as the lipos are discharging greater than 120A it should be good.

Any of you guys know if anyone has built their own PSU with adjustable voltage output to 18 Volts? Also what flux or solder do you guys recommend for soldering on connectors for battery leads, etc.? Ordered a charger but needs voltage > 16A for maximum charging capabilities. Thanks.

RE: Spektrum stick mod
Just in case anyone was following this thread and it looks like no one was, I finally got the answer I was looking for thanks to yours truly. After about 2 weeks of searching Google I finally came across this website. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/46...x5e-dx6i-dx7i/ . This is the guys video I posted above from youtube that did this mod to limit the stick movement for surface use. Granted, probably no one in America is interested in running an rc car or truck with dual sticks besides me, I thought Id post this anyway to help out the next guy 17 years from now.

Heard some people say good things about them but it seems they are discontinued? Checked Towers website. I cant find another seller. Even Ebay has next to no part support and not 1 RTR model. That makes me leery of a product thats only been out for a year maybe. Was looking at that as well as the HPI Flux HP and the Erevo 5608. I know Im not going to buy a model that I cant get parts for.
