Fuel proof the..... kit built formers .......they are already out of the frame and very easy to do before glueing them into the frame. ARFS....Drilled small holes where fuel might collect in case of a leak , or fuel system failure.

The ball link probably snapped.... We all....put them on and take them off.... how many times while adjusting linkages prior to the first flight... rarely checking for a crack or a split in the plastic ball, or the plastic that we snap around around the ball. As a jet guy who also flys helis...which are full of ball links... they do break/crack /split during the on and off that comes with intial setup and adjustments.... but it happens alot more on a heli-setups and alot less on a jet setups. Sorry for the loss.... the reported version of what happened points to a Hardware failure.... AFTER...... the flight control surfaces had proven themselves .....to be airworthy. Thanks for sharing....We might all think about reinspecting our ball links.... after all ...how often do we actually pull the servo covers and do it or even look ??? ( Doing some counter-Balancing on the stabs also lightens the loads on the servos and linkages when 10 to-30 gs are being applied to the airframe. Lessens the landing shock applied to the stabs, links, and servos)

Well there ya have it.....thats probably it.... canards mixed with the inner elevons only.....less total backside pitch action on takeoff. might be well worth doing on the next one....??? splitting the elevons.....like the real one. (not going to pull off already painted and hinged elevons). Gyroed canard might dampen the pitching or over rotation also......... all...... great ideas ..... thanks for your extra efforts on ....the bleeding edge.... Jim....

I was wrong.....After watching the video again the inboard elevons due deflect upwards, but not nearly as much as the canards... our models don't have the split inner elevons and outer alierons....not even sure the big airworld model has them split. (video at the 33 second mark ...the alierons are level ... with inner elevon drooping due to no hydraulic pressure) The models just might be jumping into the air..... due to inducing too much pitch force on the backside due to the elevon on the model being full span. The elevon on the full size does not seem to be acting as a full span elevon, only the inner portion seems to be doing the elevator work ....with the outer portion doing roll control.

The video shows the canard doing most of the work on landing... afterwards the inboard elevons full up when the canards go into speed brake mode.... Thats a great diagram of the flight control functions.....would be great to actually see how the inboard and outboard elevons function..seperately.. inflight.....or do they? I have see pictures of the inboard elevons fully down (hydraulics depressurized) with the outboard elevons/alierons level. There could be all kinds of wild mixing going on back there that might help the model...if the elevons where split like on the real aircraft. .......would seem there might acually be a gyro on the canard..on the real aircraft....could be worth trying... might keep the plane from "jumping" into the air or plowing back into the runway after releasing or eas'in off on the stick.

The board of the seahawks abused their "powers"....taildragger was thier victim and they showed the rest of the membership what happens if they don't fall in line (fear card played well). This is hardly the first time something like this has transpired in an AMA club....absolute power corrupts! Tail dragger brought their corruption into the light........ and they retailiated. Now the whistle blower is made out..... to be the bad guy..... because he outed the corruption. Taildragger did not do this to himself.....they... the BOD and thier cronies.... did it ......to him. It was co-ordinated, planned, attack by folks who really do believe in thier minds that : Its thier club not ....a club.... The club belongs to them....and not anyone else. The clubs treasury belongs to them...and not anyone else. The members are just that members because "they are the club". The field belongs to them(even though lots of people in the area had a hand in its creation... and its located on public land). Even from 3000 miles away I can see truth... of what really transpired. Its good thing our US president can't retailiate against its citizens like the the president of this club did. """"TO Defend the constitution of the United States against enemies both......... foreign and domestic" Our rights under the constitution do not disappear when we join a "club". Now I see why our armed forces take the oath....to bad the members of this club don't have... a bill of rights...or do they? As astrohog pointed out..this country was created by the troublemakers, standing up against the evils of thier gov't. LONG LIVE THE TROUBLE MAKERS!!! The model Airplane AMA club gov't is no different..it can and has been corrupted. The majority can be led down the path of tyranny....what we all forget about Hitler already.? You guys at the seahawks went out of your way to........ villify one of your own citizens.... you should be ashamed! Its ok if you walk into a " corrupt stacked meeting" and lose......its still a "stacked meeting".... they had to stack it with people that have no morals AND FEW ethics.... by those idiots who forgot about the US bill of rights and what its means to have them. the only people going to the club meetings now are "the indoctrinated" in the hate, lies and disinformation. What is it they fear? If your really not supported what is it they are afraid of? Any motions you would make as a member would not get seconded? Or would they? it's not like the members were ever given the truth before.... they "railroaded you out of thier club". most members do not have a grasp of roberts rules, proper procedures, members rights under the constitution. The inital termination was fraudulently aquired, so having a vote over something that was fraudulently gained in the first place is just a dog and pony show for their little small minded clique. Your actually better off going to court..... when the court system says that what they did was a violation of your civil rights, and florida corporate law... what are they going to do...... ignore the court orders... too!. Time to turn up the heat.... go the news media route...get the story to the local newsfolks..... the coachroaches don't start running till the lights get turned on.... just like with any corrupt gov't, or branch of govt....... scream from the highest hilltops.... How many times at the seahawks field has the membership bashed the "administration" of the US govt in power? Should the rest of us US citizens deport them..for thier bad behavior....is that not what the bod did when they led the members to.... deport taildragger for his alleged bad behaviour. Its ok to bash the US govt and its administration...but not the local model airplane govt and its screw ups, violation of bylaws , roberts rules of order, and the processes that tail dragger defended? Tail dragger defended "the process" by which things get changed in a club. He was attacked because he did not just swim with the rest of the fishes. Or a better one.....jump off the cliff with the rest of the lemmings. How many people in how many countries have been jailed , bannished, deported and executed, because they stood up to "thier gov't"? And this is how we run our model airplane clubs? Like petty dictatorships run under mob rule? How much of this ended up in the club newsletter? and was the other side "allowed" to put forth thier version of things? I doubt that it was..... Taildragger is being punished for what HE SAID and what he WROTE.... We are not supposed don't do that in this country. But I guess its ok to do it in place called coral gables fl in an AMA club called........ the seahawks? How about a real solution to the problem: 1.Reinstate taildragger immediately 2. Admit the club administration violated the club bylaws process when they attempted "to dictate" a $10.00 late fee. vs having it voted on by the membership first. 3.educate the membership about "the process". 4.educate the members about the US "bill of rights"....... they have apparently forgotten. 5. have the membership create a seahawks members....... bill of rights . (the AMA should do also for its members, as we don't have one ethier) If the members don't protect each other's rights....... who will? Another question..... why is it when these threads get started.... its aways the guys who claim they are in the right.... that are the ones wanting to shut the thread down? If your actions are so pure, your words so true, your motives oh so holy.....why is it your side is the one trying to shut down the conversation? This is a....conversation......... is'nt it.? Its good to take a break so you don't burn things out completely and never return.....you'll come back better than ever after taking time off from "THE SECOND CAREER".... lets face it flying plus acft maintainence....would burn anyone out after a while. Cross trimming was created so a pilot could do just that; Trim the elevator without taking ones fingers off the elev stick.( a good thing) or negating having to reach over with the left hand.(another good thing) In the older days of analog trimers adjusting the trims happened right now...(Another good thing)... You as the pilot did not have to wait for the beep ...beep... beep and delayed action or over shoot of digital trims...(a bad thing, espeically if you have a bronking buck on your hands) Standardization of whatever your radio setup is will result in fewer crashes due to brain farts associated with switching transmitter setups, styles,switch positions... Would love to see new digital radios come with quick analog style trimers. prefer a radio with analog trimmers for maiden test flights.... Crosstrimming is a good thing.....if you have been doing it....the changeover can be dangerous if your a creature of habit. Could shut the turbine off easily if a B fart occurs or you tell a helper...."give me full up elev trim" and he does.....shutting the engine down. (avoid this scenario by making sure to tell the helper ahead of time). How often have you have to retrim for takeoff/landing or so on is another consideration. You can always go back....
