RE: Spektrum Telemetry module and iPhone App.
Here is the web page for the PDF file for the air speed module. Look at the picture for reference to hookup. http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/SPMA9574-Manual.pdf

RE: Spektrum Telemetry module and iPhone App.
The static port goes to the negative tit on the airspeed module, the pressure port goes to goes to the positive tit on the airspeed module. Also, the instructions say .5" min from the static hole to leading edge of the wing. I think all of mine are 1" from static hole to leading edge. Most real aircraft have the pitot tube extending down and forward of the wing leading edge or if in the nose of the aircraft it is extending out away from the fuselage and then turning forward into the air stream. Check out on some photos of full scale aircraft. Just some ideas. If all else fails, contact HH support.

Have you tried reversing the tubes coming from the pitot to the module? I assume it will make a difference according to the instructions.

OK.....found out how on another forum. I emailed the file to myself, opened the email on the iphone, tapped on the attachment and it ask if I would like to open in the Sti module. Did that and there was the file. Works great. Now would like to be able to open the file on my PC.

How can I view the SPEKTRUM.TLM file? I noticed that it is on the SD card after I did the last update 2.05. I copied it to my PC and would like to see what is in the file.

I think I have something not activated. DX8, AR8000, TM1000. Got the GPS module hooked up. All readings on the DX8 appear except for the time. It is all zeros. I am in Oklahoma and have the GPS set to -6 for the time. Any help?

RE: Spektrum Telemetry module and iPhone App.
Guess it is time to put the blame on iTunes. Still no update for the Sti Apps, so no GPS info on my iPhone. Hey, Andy: How about a fuel guage for the next item? Some kind of wrap around sensor attached to the fuel tank to give a reading as to amount of fuel left in tank. I know, fuel moves all the time in the tank from different attitudes of the aircraft, but would be nice to have.

Got the GPS module installed in my airplane, but have a question about its placement and position. Does it make any difference which way the module is placed in the aircraft as to front, back, left, right? I know that it must be situated with the top pointed up to be able to acquire satilitte info. This question is in reference to the heading degree reading.

Thanks Andy. Did that, added to telemetry menu. Just my habit to rebind with any change to the configuration. Waiting on the Apps update for the Sti.

got my GPS module for the telemetry on the DX8 and STi. Plugged it in, did a re-bind of the system, GPS worked just great. Tried it first in the living room. Worked OK. Took model outside, worked great. No waiting for the Sti Apps update.

RE: Throttle Spring vs Servo Current
ORIGINAL: aerialsports If you do not want to use the spring you can always take a drimmel with a cut off disc and just cut the U shape of the spring that feeds into the trottle arm off,, that way you will have no spring load at all but still have the spring in place to keep the tension on the butterfly assembly...
I guess I did not make myself clear. There is no spring on the throttle at all. This is the spring between the carb body and the throttle shaft/lever. I have a new spring, and was wondering just how to put the new spring in place. Do not plan on hucking it up, just need the spring tension on shaft moving in and out.

Yep, sure can. Running Windows Vista Ultimate now for roughly 6 years. No problems, no freezes, no crashes. Retired IT tech from Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

The latest version is 2.0 and can be found on iTunes. The play back will only show which ever 2 items you want displayed. However, on a replay you can choose a different pair.

Do not have the orange circle near the upper left corner. Are you using the latest version of the Sti iphone apps? When you start the playback of a logged file, it will show all of the info that has been collected in a chart.

RE: Spektrum Telemetry module and iPhone App.
I will give it a shot. Go to the setup of the sti, set autologging as a default, I choose RPM as the sensor name, set Start Log at Value 3000 rpm's. When the engine RPM reaches or exceeds 3000 rpm logging will start. Press done in the upper left corner and you are set. Other values could be chosen such as airspeed, etc. Good luck.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
I think I have finally solved one of my problems of the SYSSA engine not choking or drawing fuel. Have had to use an electric starter for some time now. I removed the engine and found that the choke plate had been bent. I probably did that when I originally installed the engine. However, after removeing the choke plate and getting it streight, re-installed it and moved the plate to the choke position and it fully closed. Also noticed that the hook on the choke plate was hanging on the back side of the fire wall. So, I closed it a little so it will clear everything. Remounted the engine, pulled the choke and could see fuel being pulled to the carb when rocking the prop. On the RPM drop issue, I leaned the HS needle about a blade width. This seems to have stopped the hanging of the idle when lowering the throttle. I am happier now.

RE: SYSSA 30CC GAS MADE IN USA
It does not need the primer bulb. Just use the choke, if necessary. Pull choke, rock prop several times and it will start and run. Most primer bulbs only get the carb wet with fuel. They still have a choke that has to be used in some cases.

Yes I do. Waiting for the GPS unit when it is available. All in a Funtana 125 with the SYSSA 30cc gas engine. Love the way it flys. Use the iPhone Sti1000 with the phone. My son gives me the readings while I fly.

Thanks Andy: I guess that I had a brain lapse. I replaced the item listed as Pbox with GPS. It will be ok now. Thanks for the reminder. There are only 9 slots for different telemetry items. 1- RPM, 2-Volts, 3-Temp, 4-GPS, 5-Gforce, 6-Alt, 7- Speed, 8-RxV, 9-Flight log. Under that is Settings.

Does that mean another update is coming? Nothing with version 2.05 that indicates anything about GPS at this time. I checked under the menu where I activated all other telemetry items and there is not a blank to setup for gps.
