RE: Futaba 9650 servos for pattern
My 9650s have a bit of slop around the senter. Replaced them with BLS153s and never looked back, they are super tight. Just waiting for Futaba to make a HV-edition of those. Must be just a matter of time.

RE: Real Flight G6 Video card requirements
Thanks, I didn't know there was a demo. Silly me. I tried now, and it runs beautifully.

Real Flight G6 Video card requirements
I'm trying to figure out if my laptop will run RF6 or not. It's an HP Elitebook 8460p. It's my work PC, and has an Intel HD graphics family video card. I suspect this card does not have dedicated video memory, and is therefor below the min. system requirements. I'm not expecting great performance, but will it run at all? The Laptop has Intel i5 vPro CPU, and windows 7 64 bit. It's just a few months old and is pretty good at working with heavy stuff like Photoshop and inDesign. I'm running AFP Deluxe, and it runs beautifully, no lag and pretty much max. settings, but this is a very old sim by todays standards. Any tips greatly appreciated, thanks.

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF
The question is, which mark does it miss? If it misses one, it hits the other. Perhaps a detachable cowl is more complicated to make, but simplifies assembly and maintainance for the average builder? In that case it hits my mark [8D]

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF
I can't believe this is turning into another ARF vs. kit discussion. It doesn't have one shread of relevance to a topic discussing one particular ARF. If the detachable cowl is so horrible, glue it on and sand/paint the seam. Or don't buy it. I for one am glad it's detachable, it makes for an easier installation and it's good for keeping things clean.

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF
The video is up! http://www.greatplanes.com/airplanes/gpma1975.html It looks like a million dollars when it flies inverted and sucks the gear in. I had to pre-order today as well. I always try sitting on my hands until the urge passes but today that just didn't happen. Now for the long wait! I'm thinking a .91 would really make this plane come alive. Or maybe a .75, both have the same case after all. I have good experience with piped 61's but a .91 is more powerful, weighs the same or less and is the same size?

Looks spectacular! I'm getting one. O.S. .75 or .91, stock muffler, fixed gear, plug and play.

RE: YS To Electric conversion
Everything I removed from my 170 CDI powered Integral including throttle servo, linkages, fuel tubing weighed in at 1900 grams. Add to that the lighter props available to electric motors and you're close to 2 kg.

RE: Futaba MC 9100A ESC
It's probably coming, but in Europe they've launched both the motors and the ESC line under the O.S brand. O.S and Futaba are probably owned by the same company. I love O.S and would use that ESC in a heartbeat, but it seems a bit heavy? My Kontronik jive 80 weighs significantly less. BTW, What Osiris prototype? Pics of the whole plane, please [8D]

Futaba BLS174 HV servos available when?
the BLS174 HV variant of the BLS154 wing servo was announced, even pictured earlier this year, but are still nowhere to be found. Does anybody know an ETA? Image from this page: http://www.heliplane.net/2011/05/shizuoka-hobby-show-2011-–-futaba/

Cam timing mark: UP Crankshaft timing mark: DOWN When you assemble the parts this way, the piston is at TDC. Pictures shown are taken from a 170 DZ, but I assume the 70 is similar.

RE: Delro ADDICTION
ORIGINAL: MalteS Zackenband is on the Graupner site: http://www.graupner.de/de/products/87e3a418-ceea-4c99-b993-ef0764af54d6/91/product.aspx Flying an Addiction myself, maybe I should give that a try too. What I currently struggle with is that the Plane slowly rolls to the right in inverted flight. It's marginal but it's there. Any idea what could be the source for this? I noticed that my rudder has to be slightly off center for normal flight (trimmed to the right) but side thrust seems correct. (no corrections needed in vertical upline). Also checked that elevators are aligned and travel the same way. Good ideas for reasons are welcome .... Best, Malte Edit: Ups, uploaded the same pictures twice....
Rolling while inverted is usually a heavy wing problem. If a wing is heavier than the other, the trim required to make the plane fly straight will work the other way round while inverted. Not only will the heavy wing roll the plane, the trim will make the problem worse. This also applies to a warped wing.

RE: HELP SAVE THE VENUS II
A Venus II sized Sequence, to compete with the Sebart Wind 110 og Wind S 50, that would be very cool. Market needs more choice in this size of plane, it's a Sebart world out there at the moment.

RE: Alternate ESC's
Kontronik Jive 80+ HV. It just works. Big plus for watertight and shockproof casing. Also, strongest BEC anywhere. Adding a small supplemental battery to the receiver gives you instant dual-power security without the added weight and complexity of a dual-battery and regulator setup.

RE: Let's talk P-13
I agree it must be because the schedule is new to me, I fly higher than normal in order to get extra space. Hope it will be so, because I was planning to use 4500 mah batteries next year :-) I think the half clover should have a line before and after the roll. In fact you must, because 1/4 loop + line + roll + line + 1/4 loop must fill the space of two half loops, and that's a lot of space. I also find the top hat difficult. One thing is the size, and another is remembering which way to roll so you come out on top. Yes, the Z is also very hard on the sticks, the last pull needed more elevator throw than I have used for P11.

RE: Let's talk P-13
Typical P11: 3000-3500 mAh and no more than 06:30, usually 06:00. If the square loops four corners should have the half the radius of the half loop preceding it plus a straight line before and after the half roll, it will be twice as big as the half loop. Then the plane is below ground level :-) It's a choice between a gigantic 9 or a very tight square.
