RE: w h 84
Bob, what do you want for it? This is an old thread, but I have a V1 Edge that could use a new cowl if I ever decide to restore it. Jon

RE: Airplane identification
First one might be a Sig Kiwi without the canopy. It looks similar, but it also has a look that is familliar, but I can't put my finger on it. The second one looks like a Seagul Superstar...maybe...

Send an e-mail to Great Planes: airsupport@greatplanes.com and tell them you need a new spar for your PT60 as it was warped in the kit (e-mail that pic too) and they just might send you a new spar for free...can't hurt to ask. Jon

RE: Proud new owner...NNIB, OS, 35% Giles (R/W scheme)
WOW!!! Has it been almost a year since I posted in this thread??? Anyway, it is done, except for a quick engine tune. I tried running the engine last week, but a bone dry carb didn't want to cooperate and I put it back in the workshop and did a little PM on the carb to get it wet. Graphics are on it. I'll mount the cowl back up once I get it running. I have it balanced right on the front edge of the wing tube. Jon

V1 Edge canopy needed
I'm retiring my ARMY STRONG Edge and putting it on display on Ft. Knox, but need a canopy for it. Mine has a light bulb burn in the top, right above the pilots head. Anyone have a crashed airframe or spare canopy laying around someplace?

Lazyace...I just noticed that somehow the lower case letter got flipped upside down when you type "bipe" but not in "upper" in your first post, and in the title of this tread. Sorry, just having a little fun. Lots of folks call our two-winged airplanes "Bibe" instead of "Bipe" (which is shorthand for "[link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biplane]Biplane[/link]" )

That ain't a 4*40 (or 60) Tail is wrong. Turtle deck is wrong. Wingtips are wrong. Cowl is wrong. Deck in front of canopy area is wrong. Looks like it's Birdi'ish, or Andrews...maybe Goldberg...

Kitty Hawk Models (Home of the "Sky Knight 6")
I'm origionally from Paoli, IN and was there visiting my mother this weekend. Conversation came around to Paul Clements and Kitty Hawk Models. Turns out that Paul had a bad fire at his place a couple of months ago, and Paul was burned badly trying to fight the fire. I cannot find any info on what happened or the extent of the damage, but from what my mom said, he lost his building that may have had all his molds and equipment, to include all his personal airplanes and stuff. Mom said Paul lost his wife a couple years ago too (natural causes). Last she heard, he was in a local nursing home, recovering from the fire (major burns to his arms, face and legs) and is learning to walk again. Please keep Paul in your thoughts. If I get anymore information, I'll pass it along. Jon

No, just have your caller inform the judges "Sequence start" (they are sitting a few feet behind you) and go for it. "Sequence complete" after drawing your line after the last figure, then climb back up calm your nerves and fly the sequence again for that round. Jon

RE: Wild Hare Electrics
I had my e-Slick 540 out again last night. I'm using one of Tom's 6c A123 packs, and I think I have my CG just a little too far aft. It flies great at speed, but gets snappy when I slow it down. I also broke another set of landing gear when I got it too slow on landing. You'd think that falling from 3' at landing speed, directly on the gear wouldn't snap a gear leg off, but it did. Better to loose a gear leg than have to repair the gear plate and some stringers, and maybe a hole punched through the wing. Tom, I'll be ordering another set of CF gear for it soon (gotta get my allowance first [:D]) Jon

RE: Wild Hare Electrics
My Slick is coming right along. The only hiccup I've had so far is a broken stringer from shipping (took about 45 seconds to fix) and my slots were not cut for the elevator contol horns (took about 10 minutes to slot them). Tail is all hinged now. Getting ready to move up front and mount the motor. Jon P.S. I have maybe about 1.5 hours time in this thus far...maybe... :)
