Definitely ditch the 42% ignition cutoff. If yours works at all you have been very fortunate.

If you are going to start using A123 or LiFe batteries, you shoudl do yourself a big favor and get a CellPro Multi4 charger.

RE: A123 Question
Difinitely balance chaarge your A123s. Every time. There is no reason not to as it only adds a few minutes to the routine unless they are severely out of balance in which case you have a problem anyway. The folks that advise not to balance charge are likely to be the next ones on here to bemoan the loss of a plane for unexlained reasons. Don't be that guy.
ORIGINAL: topspin I like smaller planes for most of the reasons stated and I have several micro planes that are lots of fun. I enjoy building small foam and balsa planes to experiment with different configurations also. Having said that, I want to build one IMMA legal plane just to have. I realize it's a lot of work but it really is fun to fly a plane that responds like a real one and you can see it at more than 500 yards. RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
ORIGINAL: evan-RCU I'm taking mine out again tomorrow... [:D] I've been told that the NP 100cc Yak is built much like the original V1 QQ Yak. What gen do you have and what did you do to it that you didn't like? Did the elevators and other surfaces come prehinged? Seems like that is one of the big 3 complaints about the NP version, not enough hinge points. I've heard this abou ta lot of the high buck ones too, that the add extra hinges. The other big complaint is adding extra glue to the fuse, I did do that. And the third is the crappy gear, I also agree with that but I didn't replace it I re-enforced it.
To say that the NP Yak is "built much like" the QQ Yak is akin to saying a Yugo was "built much like" a Vette because they both have four wheels and an engine. I've never seen a "high buck" 35% that came with three aileron hinges, or elevators that have to be cut down to clear the pull-pull cables, or LG that were clearly a carry over from their 50CC models.

RE: Futaba FASST using a JR retract servo
ORIGINAL: hrrcflyer Tom, A friend of mine had the exact same problem except it was with his 10C. He learned that his JR retract servo will not work with the older FS type FASST receiver. He could plug ANY other servo into the retract channel and it would work fine. He also told me it had something to do with which mode you programmed the transmitter to send the signal in and said that it would work in 7CH FASST mode but not the 8CH FASST mode. My friend said he was going to try one of the new HS FASST receivers, but I haven't had a chance to talk to my friend lately to see if he was able to solve the problem yet. Hope this helps. David
I think you are confusing the terms "FASST" and "High Speed" . If the OP should change the mode for this model. The seven channnel RX's are not high speed, the eights and above are.

RE: RANT: The
Really, the only parts you should need from a manufaturer would be the harder to fabricate parts (for the average modeler) like canopies and cowls. When you order the plane, order a set of spare parts. When the time comes, you will have them. If you never need them, they will be worth extra $$ down the road to someone who does need them and can't get them. I could make a mint if I had spare canopy/hatches and cowls for the 101" QQ Yak.

I use that method routinely when a wing bolt is located in a hard to reach area. It's a lot easier to spin on a nylon wingnut than tighten a bolt in those cramped locations.

Do you have permission from the land owner? I would suggest you get that before you utlize the space. Do you have any sort of liability insurance such as home owners and/or AMA? That might be a good idea also. Other than that, have a blast!
ORIGINAL: Wart Hog Can you install two FASST RXs in a plane and have them bind to the one transmitter and each work 1/2 of the plane to keep from having 50 feet of wiring and connectors strung through the plane. On the S-BUS RXs, do you have to use the S-BUS system or do they sill work fine using "Standard" set up? ie... Plug a servo in the channel slot and it works. I know this is a lot to read, but I know to get the best output you need the best input. [:D] Thanks
Yes you can. I run dual RXs in all my gassers.
