RE: Where do you crawl?
The land here is pretty flat really. But there is a closed down robinhood flour plant near by. out behind it is a waist land of rocks and concrete and rail road ties. Also over the past couple weeks I've been building a spot in my yard. It's a 10x12 foot spot with a couple bridges, so it's been pretty fun. I'd like to go a bit bigger though. KID EVIL!

Are you saying have the horn pointing up instead of down?? See this is actually for my brothers crawler..... I haven't been able to put my eyes on it myself... Myself, I bought a 3ch radio. Anyway. the reversing splitter above, will or will not work? has adjustments or not?

RE: New Slash 4x4 owner with some Shock and battery questions.
I wouldn't go with alum. anything. Rpm has nice solid shock towers but I don't think that is the problem. New shock shafts would be the idea as mentioned above also thinker oil AND/OR stiffer springs. You said you are new to rc. there are lots of little things you can do to tweek your set up. Also pull that slipper and go with a center diff with the correct fluid. you can tune the diffs with thicker or thinner fluids as well. 2s lipo 5000mah will rock that slash as well. try hobby king. But watch the prices sometimes there are 2c 25c 5000's for like $20 and then the same battery down the page more is $28. Look close and you'll find a good deal. Delivery has been real good for me here as well. Also........ If you are blowing shock caps.. make sure that there is not to much shock oil in the shock. Push the shaft up inside before putting the caps on. If the shock is full and then you compress the shock you may blow a cap. there needs to be room to fit the shaft when compressed.

4ws on ax10
My brother is having a problem getting the 4ws to work with his reversing splitter. Does anyone have any experience with these. the splitter has a small box with a dial on it but came with no instructions. Right now the 4ws is steering the same and crab walks. What has to be done to get it to reverse.

RE: crawler for hiking
Nooooo syco.. those hpi parts are soooo soft... as you know. That's the reason I did what I did. Also because I knew I wouldn't be around when my son dorve the truck, for the most part anyway. So I wanted as bullet proof as I could get. I re-did all the links. There is a video on youtube for the links as well (not by me). I'd go that way for the rear brace, it's stiff as stiff.

RE: crawler for hiking
syco, those are custom links and a custom plate. Threaded rod and brake line for the links and a piece of aluminum cut to fit for the brace. I used these clips pictured below to hold the brace on. Or were you refering to the triangular brace in the rear. either way I made all those links the same way. The triangular brace in the back was a bit tricky to get just right and have the wheels running in line, but nothing a little time doesn't take care of. Make up your links without the brake line first, then measure between the ball ends for an exact fit. then take them apart and slide on the brake line. Even still a thread or two out of wack changes alot. I used a small pipe cutter to get my lengths just right.

RE: AXIAL XR 10 DIG
Don't quote me, but I think you would need a micro servo and a 3 channel radio.

RE: crawler for hiking
The wheely king is a pretty good truck... i'd say. Just make sure you aren't useing that stock servo. It's junk out of the box, only 32 oz of torque. Go with something worth having in it. This is a few pics of my sons WK. It's not completely a crawler yet, but getting closer.

RE: beadlock rings
I would say that the lexan covers would hold up as long as a lexan body would [;)]. And if they fail.... just cut some more. You could do a full cover or just cover over the rings (trace the beadlock rings)

RE: beadlock rings
why don't you cut some lexan covers to go over the rings. That won't add enough weight to worry about and keep the scratches away. Save some spare lexan from your next new body.

RE: castle creations warranty
I sent me sidewinder sct esc in back in early sept. After I got an email from castle saying it would be back in 15-20 days I had to email them and see what was going on.. they said recalls and re stocking issues. I waited a little while longer and had to em,ail the again. Same excuse. Now it's mid january and I just got an email with a tracking number the other day. Yeah I would say that they could be a little better at customer service....... But it looks like they are finally coming through.

RE: Eman's Tamiya CR-01 Land Cruiser build thread
Just heat up your antenna tube with a lighter and bend it at 90 degrees so that it fits under the body. I dunno about you guys but I really don't end up that far away from my crawler. Actually I have done this to all my trucks anyway, 2.4 or not and have had no issues. KID EVIL!

RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....
Would a 100 mph rustler handle the same as this car does or should? I think body options are gonna be a problem. You'll need X0-1 bodies only. It looks to me like the body "fits in" around the chassis. I also like the idea of the duct leading to the motor, a little natural cooling...... Unless you end up sucking up stones and pinging them off the motor. Heres a videos for you all......
