RE: Ziroli 124
Can this thread be closed? It seems that it has gotten so far away from a build thread that nothing constructive towards building a warbird can be gained from it that is not already posted elsewhere. The builder seems more content on to saying 'look what I have done'. There is more useful information is gained from the ' GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair' that can be used on a larger one. This thread has generated a lot of backlash because the builder wants to stir up the pot on this thread and others. Some of his threads have already been closed on RCScaleBuilder for bashing manufactures without merit. I open this thread every so often to see progress and new techniques but only see redundant pictures of the plane with very little progress made and old techniques re-hashed. There are a lot of posts in this thread with nothing to contribute the the build or the hobby. Thank You.....Ken

RE: You Can Win First Place at a Warbird Rally With An ARF? Really?
If someone is quoting Dylan to justify ARF's how about this song of his....... Union Sundown Well, my shoes, they come from Singapore My flashlight’s from Taiwan My tablecloth’s from Malaysia My belt buckle’s from the Amazon You know, this shirt I wear comes from the Philippines And the car I drive is a Chevrolet It was put together down in Argentina By a guy makin’ thirty cents a day Well, it’s sundown on the union And what’s made in the U.S.A. Sure was a good idea ’Til greed got in the way ARF's are good starter planes to get people in the hobby, getting them to build will keep them in the hobby. I have been in this hobby for 26 years and have owned 1 ARF (93" Troy Built Models Zero), I flew it once and sold it. It is not the same as getting the satisfaction from flying a built up plane. If ARF's are kept in the beginers scale class's they may plant the seed to make a person go to the next step. Just my own opinion...........Ken Dylan would have been a builder if he was in the hobby.................

RE: Opinions on Century Jet Gears
Junk....Every set that I have owned for the most part fell apart. They are not made very well, rivets holding the scissors together fail early. I do not recomend them.

RE: 3W Bearcat Build - Oh Yeah!
I have a friend in Akron, who has fabricated molds. He could probably make it. I have the material to make it with as I have acquired the molds for the Conahen 100" Corsair (Don Smith) a few years back and planned on building a couple. After I get some of my home improvement projects completed I plan on building the corsairs with the gentleman in Akron. The Bearcat that I acquired needs refurbished as I purchased it because of the gear. I will not get to it at least for another year or two. Your tank looks great, it really sets the plane off. If you want, PM me your phone number and we can discuss the creation of the mold. Thanks.....Ken

RE: cosmos 45
I have a built Cosmos 60 that I am currently flying. I need a Bellypan for it. Does any one have a kit that I can make a quick mold of the bellypan? I contacted a Hobby Shop in Hong Kong and they want $120.00 plus $30Sh for one. A little too pricy for me. I have been flying the plane for around 8 years without a pan. I will upload a pic later today of the plane.....Thanks....Ken

RE: Gibbs Ziroli 94
Construct your rudder hinge line correctly. It will set the plane off. There are good instructions on the RCScale Builder site under the Bates P-40.

RE: Giant Scale Twins F7F Tigercat
I took out the F-7-F which I purchased from Jeff Q. I have rebuilt the retracts but am in need of a geared transmission for the Likes Line Left Main. I have either 3.4 or 4.2 Sachs engines that I could install. I had purchased a new canopy for it. There is some repair needed to the fuse and one cowling that should not be too much of a problem. Here is a pic from when I purchased it...Ken

RE: Reid´s Nakajima Ki-27 NATE
The wing on the plan is one piece construction. The wing in my pic was constructed as per the plan per 1/2 but converted to 2 piece in the same fashion that Jim Meister used in his planes.

Its probably a Platt T-28. He kitted it and then sold the rights to Pica. The Platt and Pica are the same plane.

RE: Reid´s Nakajima Ki-27 NATE
I have one that needs some work on the wing. Plane is really light. Has anyone put spring loaded struts in theirs? I don't like the Stiff non-sprung gear shown on the plans. The person who owned and flew this before me found out the hard way. Also, does anyone have pics of the interior, they are very hard to find..
