RE: need help identifying this buggy asap!
That looks like the original body and there is a Sportwerks logo printed above the front window , could be a Sportwerks Mayhem ....

RE: Brushless Losi XXL?
Losi used to sell a conversion too make an LST1/Aftershock into an LST2 but you would still need the longer chassis plates and the center driveshafts .... Basicly you would need a chassis , center driveshafts , front and rear a arms , rear hubs , front steering knuckles and c hubs , front and rear driveshafts , hexes , and wheels . Quite a lot , but you dont NEED that but it will make it much stronger .

RE: Brushless Losi XXL?
I have a brushless LST2 and its a freakin monster to say the least , lots of power on 4s no need to run 6s IMO unless you are running a low Kv motor . I used the Losi conversion and it went together with no problems or modding needed . BUT the 2 speed isnt needed IMO and your gearing is fixed as there is no adjustment too the mount . If I had to do it again I would buy The Dudes conversion parts (motor mount and single speed hub) and just use the batter tray from the Losi conversion kit ......... BTW , the truck in that Ebay ad is NOT an XXL , that looks like an LST1 or an Aftershock , you can tell becase the axles are silver (XXL is black and are 8mm like a 1/8 buggy much stronger than the Aftershocks axles) it has rear toe links (XXL does not) and the chassis is not extended (XXL is like 300mm longer than the LST/LST2?Aftershock) .

From what I can remember it is designed kinda like an RC18T but it was kinda fragile unlike the RC18 . Good luck getting any parts for it as they havent been made in quite a while now .......

RE: Losi 8eight or losi mini sct?
The Mini 8ight is an awesome little buggy IMO , probably the best handling mini on the market . I am only a tick slower with it than my B44 . There are bodies for it from a company called Phat Bodies and ProLine is rumored to be bringing out a body for it as well . Lots of hop ups coming out soon also , though all it needs IMO are C/F shocktowers . Link too the bodies ... [link]http://phatbodies.bigcartel.com/[/link]

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight
ORIGINAL: 87MagnumII Had some front diff issues and Losi sent me a rebuild kit under warranty. Was wondering if I should use white silicone grease or red marine grease in the diff? Also how much grease should iuse inside the diff housing? I'm used to using oil on sealed diffs and haven't done much in the way of grease
I would use the marine grease and pack the diff pretty full , also use some medium (blue) thread lock on the screws for the diff drive cups . Here are some pics of my Mini 8ight ..... RE: need an opinion on sct
The SCTE is fast becoming the most reliable 4x4 SCT outta the box , there were issues with the first run but they have all been updated and the bugs worked out . The Jammin is a good truck but has a pretty fragile front end . The SC 10 4x4 is just as durable as the Ten SCTE but the belt drive is more complicated and less reliable than the SCTE's shaft drive , either can be a winner on the track .

RE: Traxxas 1/16 Kyle Busch VXL
Agreed , the Traxxas minis are the best mini cars on the market right now and with the newer street cars they have reworked the spring rates so they handle pavement a lot better than the Slash VXL . RCCA did a review and said the stock tires were a little hard but it still handled good . Makes you wonder if Traxxas might not be bringing out some replica NASCAR bodies in the future , wouldnt be too hard and the NASCAR crowd is too huge for Traxxas to ignore

RE: TEN- SCTE or SC10 4x4?
ORIGINAL: thehuntingterminator  They are within 5 bucks of each other. I can't decide what I want. I know that i want to casually race around a small track and bash. Which is better for me?
I would say the Losi is the better choice for you , as Sheograth said the SC10 4x4 is a bit more delicate than the Losi is and the drive line is much more complicacted than the Losi . I like the SCTE cause it feels like a 1/8 buggy on the track and its very stable through small bumps and ruts .

RE: Best Electric RC For Large Athletic Field With Short Grass
What are you looking too spend ? You already have a 2WD Stadium Truck and a brushless Slash so why not try something different ? I would look into E 1/8 scale like an E REVO or Savage Flux or maybe an E Truggy or buggy .

That Weller 100 watt station looks like a deal ! Might have to pick one of those up [8D] I am using a Weller 100/140 gun and I like it its a little big but once you are used to it it solders great . I think you should have 80 watts or better unless you never solder anything bigger than 18-16 gauge wire .

The B44 when built right is a great car , that Kyosho is also decent . But I agree with TBJ and kaiser01 , if you have the money give the Durango DEX 410 a shot . Unless TLR releases a 4WD .......

RE: Building a 1/10 Electric Truggy - newbie needs advice
3s will be too much for that motor , and I would look for a higher rated pack than that 25c rating as those batteries might not keep up with the demand of that system . Everything else looks good but you might want to get a set of hardened cross pins for the diffs as the stockers are pretty soft and known to not last very long under brushless power . Here is a link too the website for the hardened pins , he also has other parts for the diffs as well . [link]http://mysite.verizon.net/res8x8be/atteberyperformanceengineering/[/link]

RE: Why you should always look before you leap !
Thanks for the kind words guys , I was marshalling at the end of a long straightaway with a sharp righthander and somebody clipped the pipe and went on their lid and I jumped out to get his truck and Ka POW ! Its getting much better and most of the bruising is going away . Still hurts like a M0F0 though [:@] . I was wearing Avia cross trainers so there wasnt much padding where the truck hit me . As fast as he was going though I would have needed some pretty stout foot wear too have avoided injury . Foxy , my son brings a pair of Ds with him when he marshalls , I might be buying some myself before the next race[:D]

RE: EZRUN Brushless System Combo B4 w/ 60A ESC and 5.5T@6000KV New Issue
ORIGINAL: rayndog3 I've got this setup. I've had it in my rustler now I've got it in my T4. I had the same problem at firts with the esc cutting out and I had no idea why, but the blinking green light means its reached its thermal limit. You need to turn the thermal protection off, it's set wayyyy to low. I turned mine off and it runs fine. The hottest I've gotten the esc with the fan is around 150 degrees. also I noticed with this esc that you really need to set the LVC lower than normal. for instance, I would suggest setting the LVC to 3.0V, it will actually read around 3.4V-3.5V at rest, but it shuts it down because its taking its lowest reading under load. I set mine at 3.0. I was originally setting it to 3.4V but when I read it after rest it was reading about 3.8V, which means the battery still has plenty of juice for at least 10-15 min. I also seem to have problems with reverse sometimes with this esc, don't really know why, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I just live with it. other than that its a fantastic esc, LOL.
I had to do the same thing , been running with it turned off for 2 years now .

If they are Traxxas rims then no because they use a side mounted tire bead sorta like a buggy tire . The MGT tires have a standard bead .

RE: Warhead: First Impressions
The Warhead had many problems when it was released , DT did update it and fix some of its flaws but it had already earned itself a bad name by then and Truggies started to become popular and DT turned the Warhead into the DTX and added some racier rubber and lowered it down some to look like a truggy . IDK if they still offer the DTX as it didnt sell very well either .

RE: Not cool with Traxxas
I have used the connectors that samguan has on 1/8 set ups and the plugs are fine , dont melt and make a firm connection . If your plugs/wires are getting hot enough to melt then you have much bigger problems than what kind of connector you are using (unless you are using a low current connector like Molex/Tamiya) .
