RE: New Products Redcat!!!
ORIGINAL: amf66 Whatever happened to the new hurricane with PBS suspension? [:-]
No PBS in the future is what they posted since the cost would be high for the molds. So, with that being said, they also talked about doing a big update on the cane altogether... I'd assume to see a C-Hub suspension setup since the ultralights have them :D

RE: gs xut or himoto rxt 1
ORIGINAL: vnmsgt I have see a VTX and it DOES have the long clutch bell like the Himoto. Have not seen the GS up close with my own eyes though.

ORIGINAL: vnmsgt Yes they have the same clutch bell and are the same truggies.
I never put the words in your mouth, you openly posted that information. I can tell you from experience that these are two completely different truggies when thrown on a track. The VTX/ RXT has the better geometrical layout.

RE: gs xut or himoto rxt 1
the major differences between the 2 truggies is that the center diff is directly inline with the front and rear... gs is not. The way the chassis is laid out is pretty much the whole difference. Engine placement, center diff location and so on. Amazing that one will say that they are the same exact truggy in one post, but then admit that he's never seen the other up close.

RE: Turbo or not turbo?
the only way you can successfully BOOST a 2 cycle is if it has an exhaust valve. That video on youtube is a example that it simply doesn't work. A: it didn't even spin the turbo (ok maybe 100 rpm max on the turbo), B: 0 boost on the gauge. People can try, but it wont work... snowmobile draggers on the strip dont even use turbos unless they have a 4 stroke, or as stated before, some sort of a valve.

RE: Deans Connector Questions
The deans plugs are to reduce heat from cheap connectors since they have a very low resistance. Being that there is less resistance with a Deans plug as compared to molex, powerpoles, and trx connectors, there is also less of a current loss along with less of a voltage drop. You'll need a male end for your charger and female plugs for your packs. Depending on your esc and motor setup, its probably best that you just opt for the deans connectors. Since the days of molex were also the days of 500 - 1500 mAh packs with mabuchi 540 motors, they should pretty much be thinning out here in the future. Molex was great back in the day, but they simply don't hold up to the current that hot motors can pull today... AND the packs have a way higher capacity, many people end up with molex connector meltdowns!

5B for sure looks better. 5T could have been made with less of the stuff that they have on it, and would have sold for less too. Too bad no 4wd [8|]

waitin for input on the rear exhaust system coming out soon from the factory. GBE is to also have an exhaust system, just tryin to keep my options open until I see one that best appeals to me. Hopefully the GBE is a rear exhaust setup.

RE: WHO RAN WHAT???
Actually, the pinion is the only gear that is salvageable. Everything else is like dried up wax. We'll see what the aftermarket has to throw at us.

RE: WHO RAN WHAT???
yeah I figured it had something to do with me haulin tail out in a field (could only see the wing). Had a blast killing the gears though, everyone had a blast watching the tall grass getting mowed over. Supposedly CVD's/universal joints cant possibly be made strong enough for the power these engines are capable of producing... hopefully HSP can bust that myth. Last time I checked, HPI was doing pretty well with theirs! As far as the replacement shafts, anyone notice a difference? or are they not improved yet?

any pics of their dyno by chance? lotta times those "dynos" are inaccurate... meaning just calculations and assumptions. Xdyno seems to be the only one closest to being a "real" dyno.

RE: WHO RAN WHAT???
update to what was ran this weekend... Discovered a few issues with the Rampage. All 4 gears transferring power from engine to the center "diff" are all melted/chewed up. Driveshafts are losing their pins, and the tires are literally falling apart on the sidewalls (note that I run on dirt and grass). Cant wait to hear from redcat on the 050009 universal shafts! Hoping they are the grand solution to this shafty problem!

someone thought the same exact thing about "supply and demand" on a different forum, but then again he wanted to argue everything to get everyone on his side... and all ego argument for him. I'm afraid this hobby doesn't work that way.

I dono what they have in mind just yet, thats the latest information I've heard and read... and I cant say anything even if I did since I'm not listed as official support. So... we have to wait [&o] Oh and btw, they already have c-hub on their ultralites, so anything is possible with an update to the hurricane. RE: New Hurricane model??
Darin already stated that they are doing a updating to the buggy... and as quoted by the big man
We have put the PBS suspension on hold mainly due to the cost to make the mold so the PBS is plastic. When I first posted the info here, there was a lot of feedback on the aluminum. I felt it did not make sense to spend the money on a new plastic mold when we are very close to making some major changes on the Hurricane anyway. Its about that time, to totally revamp that sucker and changing one thing that costs thousands of dollars did not make sense. I can get the PBS suspension in aluminum and will order some next week. I expect it will take 40 days or so for us to have them in stock and no idea on pricing yet, but will let you know. Darin
emphasis on the bold... should be neat to see. I still plan on converting one of em to brushless :D hopefully it has c-hub since they dont want to do pbs (due to mold costs).
