RE: Venus II
If anyone is looking for a New Venus, My LHS has one on the shelf. It's the Hobby Bench, (602) 547-1828 is the phone number. They want $289 for it (I think). Just thought I would pass that along to anyone looking for one.

Which 30cc engine and airframe?
I flew 50cc planes for a few years and got out of the hobby for a while. I flew a DA 50 and loved it. Now I want to get back in to things and am considering a 30cc class model and engine. No idea which one to get. I prefer a Edge 540, Extra 260 or Yak Mid wing type planes. I IMAC and 3d with my planes. Which engine is the most powe at 30cc Which airframes are holding up to the test of time? Not to concerned about cost, Mostly size limited now that I have smaller vehicles.

RE: YS 110 Running poor in a slightly inverted position..HELP
The results of some experimentation. I took the engine and put it back on the test stand in an upright position. Ran great right side up... Then I turned it over in the stand and tried running it. Ran like a turd, as I advanced the throttle it choked and died. Some fine tuning on the regulator and I got the inverted performance to equal that of the upright performance. All said and done, the regulator took a half turn in. Thanks to the guy that suggested to tweak on the regulator. I had 2 YS 63's back a few years ago and I can tell you, I had a bare of a time when one of them had a bad regulator. That was so long ago, I forgot all about it till I started working on this YS. Well, it's going back in the plane tomorrow, see how it goes...

RE: YS 110 Running poor in a slightly inverted position..HELP
OS F, Heli CP 30% The engine runs momentarily then stalls and it almost acts like it just locks up. Yet after it stalls out it's free moving. I took it back off the airframe and am going to put it back on my test stand to verify my results. The key is all the same items installed and it ran fine. Install it all in the airframe inverted and it is a dog... I have heard in the past that YS engines didn't like inverted running. I am considering the regulator adjustment but just want to be sure about how it runs upright.

RE: YS 110 Running poor in a slightly inverted position..HELP
Yep, tried all those things and I am still having no luck. Pulling it back off and putting everything back on the stand to see if it changes. I am using the same fuel tank on the stand that I am using in the aircraft as well so I don't get any differences there. I am also using the same plumbing...

YS 110 Running poor in a slightly inverted position..HELP
Guys, I have a YS 110 that is NEW, I finally am getting around to installing this into a plane. I have it in a slightly inverted meaning it's at a 7:30 position. In this position it won't run steady or smooth. I did run 3 tanks of fuel through this engine on a test stand in an upright (1200 oclock) position. So with it in it's new position it's a dog.... Any ideas?

What's the trick to mounting the YS110 with the Chiphyde mount? I built a spacer to get the distance from the firewall right but I have no idea how to get this thing mounted so the Prop is center of the cowl. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

RE: planes for Saito 82
The 82 is made for any 46(2C)- 70(4C) engine size plane. Stick to that size and the engine will fly it with authority. Go bigger into a 60 class plane and the engine will be week and not strong enough to do much other than fly level.

Plastered my Pulse 60.... Just a word of warning, I had a Pulse 60 with an OS 75 in it. I was doing a power dive and the right horizonalt stab folded and the plane nose dived. Total Loss. Just warning folks to go easier on this airframe than I did. I don't think it's up to the abuse I gave it. The airframe only had 10-12 flights on it. I was just starting to give it some hell when this happend. GL you guys....

Disappointed in Bridi Utter Chaos
I bought a Bridi Utter Chaos a while ago and started assembling it finally. Well I can say this kit is a complete disappointment. The wood called out in the directions isn't in the box. It looks like some pieces are substituted but it's hard to be sure since it's a guessing game. The wing spares aren’t a good quality balsa or spruce; they are a very soft almost spongy balsa. Just on the wing alone I have had 3 wood substitutions. I've gotten only 1 wing partially assembled and I think I might just quit on this one. I have assembled allot of kits and this is easily the worst. The wood quality is poor, the directions are lacking. Maybe I am spoiled by Greatplanes, and sig kits. I built a MoJo and it was more fun than this. It's too bad, I really like the looks of the plane and was planning on adding retracts to it. Now.... well I don't know... I'll suppose I’ll shelve it for now.

RE: *New Hanger 9 Pulse XT 60*
As I have been building my Pulse 60 XT, I did pull and movement checks on the flight surfaces. I found my Rudder to be poorly glued. It pulled off in my hand. Just letting everyone know that this might be a weak spot, double check it. It looked as though there was to much covering around the hinges and it didn't allow for good penetration of the glue at the factory. This plane is from the most recent batch out of Horizon. So it could be just this batch that is been affected.

THis is them returning prices to what they where. When prices skyrocketed sales plumetted. Now the they are trying to still keep some prices high and pulling the wool over your eyes.

Guys I have an engine question regaurding this plane. I have a YS 110 that is NIB. I had always intended to use it in this plane; however after hearing all the positive reports on the OS I am considering selling the YS and getting the OS. I also like Satio engines as I have had several and I think the 125 would really work well on this plane. I have read all the posts in this thread and I am really torn. So which engine should I use? Satio 125 OS 120 YS 110

How's the inveted flight characteristics? Does it roll on it's axis well? How much Dehidral is on there on the wing? I am looking for a sport plane for a OS 75 that I have. I am a experenced pilot and fly all kinds of planes. But I like having a beater plane that will just fly well, fast or slow and has good pattern like characteristics. Does this plane suit that?
