RE: Slash center diff
spurs are different for the CD. Only thing that has to be changed is the bearing from the slipper has to be slid onto the CD and there is a nylon washer that needs to be pushed into the rear diff housing.

RE: Did I make an expensive mistake?
sure they can be tested and repaired, but for the price of them, unless it is something simple, its just not worth it, especially if you let the smoke out! If they are new-ish, give Traxxas a call, they are USUALLY pretty good with returns and warranty issues

RE: Did I make an expensive mistake?
They are cars, not boats. IMO anything advertised as WATERPROOF is a joke. Sure, it may be water resistant, but evenso, I dont run my RC's in water. there's no need to. That said, you seem to be having some bad luck indeed. It could be a radio issue as stated. Ive been in the game for 25 years and have had tons of hobby grade cars. Never had luck quite like yours, but I have had some interesting days at the track to say the least. Hope your luck improves and you and your kids stick around! Where you at in OH? Maybe someone near you could help (Im in Detroit, myself.)

RE: Choosing a Car
Dirt Burners is the track, great place. SC is big there, and 1/8 electrics are as well. Larry's on Mound and 18.5 in Sterling Heights is popular too, but its off road carpet. Downriver RC races at Dom Polski on Thursday nights.. Theres a lot of places to run if track time s your thing. Ive never seen a Bandit do well, and I can almost guarantee it is over powered by that VXL system. If you like the SC (Slash type) but want 4wd, look at the Slash 4x4 or the Jammin SCRT10 (said to be better racer than the Slash 4x4) 1/8 scale is fast as heck, but can be pricey to get into if you are just starting back. http://rcracingextreme.com/ kind of a MI based site but not really that active.

RE: Choosing a Car
southgate eh? Im in Woodhaven If you have buddies that have Slashes and love them, what do you think of them? I wouldnt consider a Bandit. Why do you want a buggy? Have special plans for it? Stadium, and SC are the most popular these days, and brushless motors and LiPo batteries make electric more fun than Nitro (Im a converted Nitro racer) What are your plans for the car, and where are you planning on driving it?

yes, but if you have to do something as simple as re-solder a wire or a switch back on, you cannot if you used Liquid Nail.

the first one youll have to notch the chassis for it to fit. The 2s2p is a 4 cell battery. Not sure how well they balance

RE: rtv silicone
yes RTV is safe. Also look for a product called plasti dip. I would not use liquid nails on my esc. Should you ever have to remove the coating, both RTV and Plasticdip will come off. Liquid nail... will not.

lemme guess.. 100W gun style iron? If so.. You need a better iron for starters. 40-60W pencil iron with a flat tip will zip that wire right back on as long as the surface is tinned and clean.

RE: mamba monster wires
Ive extended motor wires with no negative effects before. Had to do my MM combo recently, just make sure you have good, clean hot solder joints and it should be fine. Id also E Mail CC for the BEST answer though if you are that concerned.

RE: Which is better blitz / slash
2 day old Blitz, bought for this race. Ran it because frankly, I cannot stand my PE Slash. SC10 is a nice truck, BUT I hear a lot of complaints of leaking shocks and the front of the chassis breaks (have seen a few of those first hand) I love my Blitz with the MM 5700 setup in it, feels perfect to me. Complaints about it: The darn servo saver is LOOSE out the box and it takes about 1/2 hour to tighten it!! And most other maint on the truck, theres a pretty high screw count. But its all good :) People say the diff leaks, supposedly HPI fixed that with different O Rings. I just put 10K in mine last night, and it had the older X Rings in the diff so, Im sure itll leak out LOL. O Rings are cheap! My 4x4 PE Slash is actually up for trade for an upgraded BL SC10
