ORIGINAL: BRUSSER sorry you can't recognize on witch plataform the evader is done. pure consumerismum losi or lowsy[:@]
huh? Lowsy? I guess when I ran my Mod XXXT into a pole at WOT doing about 50-60mph into an I beam, and it bounced off then proceeded to drive away, I suprised even myself. But hey, thats a "lowsy" product for ya.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Hi, Cliffs for this thread (LOL)? Just hooked up my nephew with an Evader EP ST so he can start racing with me. Any MUST HAVE upgrades or fixes required on this car. We paid $120 for it and I am not expecting it to last forever. It will be a track car (indoor carpet offroad) only. Posted a thread on the main truck forum, figured Id move in here to the more knowledegable people on this product (the REAL users) Thanx guys! (sorry I dont race em, I race Losi products, and they dont fit the budget for my sister)

RE: Evader or Rustler? Experienced racer looking for opinions!
I see it this way.. It is a track car, NOT a basher. I am not the least bit worried about it lasting. If he gets 6 months out of it to learn on GREAT, it was $120 well spent. Did I mention it was $120? Itll see 2 ft of air 99% of the time with MAYBE a bigger 3' jump thrown in every now and then. You buy a cheap car, you get a cheap car. Do I think itll out perform my Losi's.. Heck now. Do I think itll be fine to learn on? For $120, abso-freekin-lutley! If he has nothing but problems for 6 months, Ill be sure to post here what the issues AND FIXES are. Theres no excuse for stripping spur gears, screws loosening, etc. If you cant set mesh, and or figure out the workings of a tube of loctite then maybe RC isnt your thing. If you whack a board because of driver error and it breaks.. Learn to drive cleaner. Heck, Im tempted to buy one, and start posting race results with it just to shut a select few up.

sorry notatoy, you are the only one here that thinks it is total junk.. Besides that it will be a track car only, not a basher so I am not too worried. AND a chassiS cost about 20-30 maybe? Small price to pay for fun! Thanks again all for the comments!

RE: Evader or Rustler? Experienced racer looking for opinions!
ORIGINAL: caseyddr Question Kent, why didn't you just buy him a used setup for about the same price and got something a bit better? My parents got me in around the age of 6 or 7, and ever since then when I promote RC to people's kids or family or anything of the sort, I always suggest a reliable used machine as a viable option. With you around, they could have had that. Just curious, don't take it as a rude remark! We are both old timers here :D As for support, I just recently got back into the hobby after about 4-5 years out of it, and it was because of my Grandma (hah) encouraging me to get back in. 500$ later.... I'm back :D
Its KEN As for buying used, I didnt want to have to deal with someone shipping and possibly scamming my sister (she's not the most intelligent type when it comes to buying on line) Id have to spend A LOT more time doing the legwork, and finding that perfect deal. It would most likely need a new motor when it arrived etc etc etc. He is IN the hobby for under $200 with a pretty capable car, and the correct tires needed for the track. I may just race with it to show him that its not anything but capable. That said, I DID browse through the ads here but not too many Losi vehicles available at this time. MF2 rollers sell for about $100, then Id still need Radio, ESC, motor, servo, and wheels/tires. WELL over the $200 budget!
ORIGINAL: RC_Basher20 Just throwing it in How about a slash?
there is no beginner slash class. Whole reason he will be in the Stadium class is there is a beginner class, and usually through F mains where I race, so the talent is deep and there are many levels to compete at. RE: First day I actually ran the car hard... Broken parts.
steel spurs are almost ALWAYS a bad idea. You can run some crazy power through a properly set up plastic spur gear. Dont forget to properly adjust the slipper, and make sure all screws remain tight especially on new RTR's!

Evader or Rustler? Experienced racer looking for opinions!
Before this gets to a flame war, I want to make it clear what I am looking for. I am an experienced racer (25 years) and race a MF2 finishing consistently in the top 3 or 4 in A Mains each time I race. That said, I have little or no experience with Rustler or Evaders, and my sister wants me to get my nephew into racing, or at least some time on the track for around $200. My first thoughts were the Evader because you can get it RTR for about $130 Then I was looking at the Rustler and it can be bought for about $150. He is a beginner (9 years old) Full Bearings would be nice Tires do not matter (this will be ran at an indoor carpet track, and stock tires will not be used) Motor has little to do with decision (again, beginner, and will be running stock once he works his way out of beginner class) Chassis tuneability will be important (toe, camber, ride height, shock pre-load etc) Be nice to have a decent steering servo out of the box Parts are not an issue, LHS carries both HE will be using some of my old batteries to get him started, and my pit box for tools and other needs. (ie if he is there, I will be too) Please, if you are going to state one or the other, list why? I dont want to get into "I own this, and its super duper radically awesome and you should too!" They dont want to spend $500 here because they need to know that he is going to enjoy racing on a track and not just bashing which is why he will not be running a Losi or Associated, that will come later. If you have a valid suggestion for another stadium truck, please list it!

RE: Factory Tracks Raceway MT racers
ORIGINAL: infernalstone Depends on how Saturday goes. I'm going to be chasing sparks around my ranger to see why the climate control fan isn't working. If it's a quick find, and cheap, then I'll be racing Sunday. If not, well..it becomes iffy then.
Look for the Diode that the switch is connected to. Most times, thats the issue when you have no fan controls. As long as the fan motor is good, that is... Does it work on any fan setting at all (1, 2, 3, 4) or never?

RE: Factory Tracks Raceway MT racers
Went over to the "track" for the first time today.. Looks interesting. Talked to a guy from Georgia that was only there to try to sell his dead friends airplane stuff. Said he had like 900 servo's!!!! Couple radios and bunches of plane parts. Asked him what he wanted and he said about $200 for all of it. Looks like its a fun drive but the guy driving out there was over jumping EVERYTHING!!! Almost hit the swings at one point LOL.

man seeing "little" ol Bill out there holding his hose makes that track look pretty big!! Youll never keep the unwanted off the track short of hiring a security guard to sleep in his car 24/7 (Matt, got any spare time?) IS the Monroe track still going? I know the track at the Ice Box down here lasted all of a year, but with their attitudes... Does that suprise anyone?

yah still running the MF's. Gonna need a new body this season (I think) by this "season" I really mean this winter, when it is too cold to play outside. As for MT's ..... closest I got is a mini LST2 GM Milford proving grounds is one of my main plants of intrest for work now, so I may stop by FTR sometime..... I just know walking in there will cost me a couple bucks :( so I keep putting it off

RE: Factory Tracks Raceway MT racers
its not a diff, it is used as a slipper only. A solid axle cannot have a diff. If the rears move as one, and the fronts move freely, then something is funky with the chassis, or the tires are severly diffrent in size. Does it go in circles, or spin out douing donuts?

should have a solid axle in it... Is it?? And yes they require a saddle pack, but cant see why a stick would make it go in circles.. Are you saying you got a gold pan RC 10 from a garage sale!?!?!?
