I wasn't trying to sell him one, if he converts engines that would be some options , other brand engines may work also .

A super tiger .90 converted to gas flys a 60-90 size stick with unlimited vertical and still keeps the wing loading very light

RE: Too much oil in gas ?
I think it may be the needle settings. I run mine inverted , on 45* , 90* and have no problems. All my .90's run the 1/4 32 plugs, what size prop would be my question for know?

Yes . C&H also sells the CH EXCEL . You would need to change the hall sensor plug if it has the deans .

RE: My ST G2300 conversion
it shouldn't be a problem , the plate is behind the carb on that setup , I haven't had any problems with it on my 2300 but have had some problems with the wt 414 carbs. I have a couple that have done the same thing and replaced them and all was well.

RE: RCEXL IGNITION FOR 1/4X32 PLUG?
you can get a chinese version that is less than 10.00 . C&H ignitions have them or the good Rimfires, the switch that comes with it is around 5-6 $ depending on where you get them.

RE: My ST G2300 conversion
Acam I sent your part this morning. With the 2.4 you shouldn't have interferance problem unless the plug is broke ( cracked ) and make sure the sheild has a good conection. I had one that had a problem and soldered a seperate strap ground on the cap and bolted it to the engine to solve the problem.

looks alot like a very old poulan also a roper just a possability. The old old poulans had that same reed valve setup cast in the case , the roper did too.

RE: crank taper
I have done several poulans including the 46, just finished one a couple weeks ago, if the cranks is.004 then there will be a lot of wobble at the end of the prop. Take a 5# hammer and beat it to deth and get another crank or you could contact Ralph at RC ignition and see if he will straiten it.

RE: crank taper
did you check the crank without the prop hub ? The crank may need some tweeking , if you turn the hub on a stub shat ( crank) and your machine is acurate the bub should have lessthan .002 runout at the end of the hub. You must start with a straight crank and well aligned lathe. If you are going to use the fly wheel mount it on the stub shaft true the flange and mount the hub then machine it and drill the end for the prop bolt. Do all the work in one setup without taking it out of the lathe and it will be straight. Also make sure your lathe doen't have any runout. Also you may want to use a test indicator instead of a dial.

RE: crank taper
I was thinking he is cutting a prop hub to fit the crank without the flywheel, seems that would be the need to know the taper other wise you tru the flywheel and screw on a hub no taper needed.

RE: Converting big glow to gas?
go with a gas, it is cheaper easier and you don't need a machine shop. If you want to have fun and like fooling with engines and such then convert one and play around but it will cost more.

sacrifice an old crank to make a stub shaft and turn everything on the shaft and it will not have wobble

the plane and engine kwmorris has is one of my .90 conversions and was my demo plane for showing the .90 ( I sold it to Mr Polk ) It has always ran 50:1 klotz synthetic sense day one, it was a new engine about 3 years ago or 2.5 and would hover the edge and do all 3d flying.

RE: Converting big glow to gas?
Say what thats to technical for me! But I run 50:1 synthetic with no problems on my glow engines. I do know an OS 160 will not convert to a needle bearing , the rod is to small in diameter to machine for it.

RE: OS 160 conversion
I could make a new head but most of these engines are not mine , and when doing them for someone else that really would not be feasable, the cm 6 plugs are getting up there on price and aluminum isn't cheap anymore . I will do a head for my .90 if I ever get caught up on the engines.
